Hey guys,
I've been trying to get hold of gangstar for a while, but every version I've tried hasn't worked as of yet. I've managed to get it installed and download the extra files, but when I press new game, it force closes.
As anyone else managed to get this working on the play at all?
I tweeted gameloft and they said they didnt have any plans to release it on the play so I'm going to have to try and find a working on for a different device.
Ive got it but its a bit laggy I used the galaxy S and desire Hd version the desire one was better but its not fun to play with lags

Its not warez, I got a copy from gameloft directly, its not worked so looking to see if there's a better version I can try on my play
Just to let you know, gameloft sent me the Desire HD version and it works near perfect, just a few judders and not as slick on as the desire, but still very playable and workable as there is not an official release in the works for it!

No they didn't sell it to me, I've had a few issues with some games, so I complained - they offered a free game, but I own them all, so I asked for Gangstar MV and they agreed to give me that - I can post the email from them if needs be
plus you can buy the game from their site if you state that you have a different phone than the one you are buying from.

Slighly different with android, the game works fine, its just not optimized, meaning its slightly juddery and the play controls aren't working!
i've got the xperia neo version of gangstar miami vindication on my xperia play and it works perfectly
MC3 had an update yesterday.
The good:
The PLAY controls seem to work better, especially aiming, is WAY better.
The bad:
It crashed and rebooted my phone twice while loading a mission.
I updated and it told me to install an additional 761 MB ?!
The game already takes 1 GB !

Yes I had to download that as well. It doesn't necessarily mean its additional, more than likely the download is to update the 1gb of files you already downloaded, so the updated ones are overwritten.
Is this through the market or the gameloft store? Says my version 1.0.0 from the wapshop is up to date :-\
Any chance that it make the game suck up less phone storage?

This was the market version (just bought it for 49 cents during the sale).
And nope storage is the same
I hate the new controls in the market version, the wapshop controls are much better imo

I like Shadowgun controls xD. But will stay on older version of MC3 - like that controls too . But hate on Six Guns, stupid port with few bugs....

No matter is it the "old" aim or joystick... Im still unable to aim at all, i use touchscreen.

I find aiming quite easy using the touch pads, although they took a bit of getting used to. The only thing hard is spinning around.
Maybe they should add a button to do a 90/180 degree turn

I find it incredible that that sort of BS ever passed QA...
touchscreen gives the perfect aim, im even gonna try to adapt.
Atleast i know that i shouldnt even consider buying gamelofts products, only good game they have is asphalt 6.

I agree, Asphalt using the D-Pad is great. Touchpads on that game are a little weird to use though, but who would on a Racing game?
With regards to the MC3 update, this has made my game lag more, when the games not lagging the right thumb pad is a bit more responsive. I had previously got away with using the screen to move and the right thumb pad to aim (less control lag when only one digit on the touchpad, that way...) however the update removes the on-screen controls when you have the PS controls open, so this is no longer a possibility.
Gameloft, sort this out! Not that you would in the slightest be looking at an Xda forum for feedback

Yeah, asphalt tickles just that right spot that burnout revenge does maybe not as greatly but quite alot.
And i even got asphalt 6 for free.
But if update does remove on-screen controls... Im not gonna update, i would have wanted to try MP just out of curiosity but doubtfully i will ever get a chance.
So we've always known that it showed up in the Xperia PLAY Game Launcher... but it was always an unanswered "why?" because the game certainly wasn't Xperia PLAY Optimized for any firmware.
Just got a tip from a user on my site that it is, and should be added to my database. As always, I like to test myself before adding anything, but I've tried to install it three times to get to a situation where it FC's every time I get past the intro video.

I have been playing this game off and on for some time and unless its been updated and I have not updated it it has worked with the game controls for me. In my opinion I would say its definately optimized...
Oh and TL.... glad you like Iruna.
There was pad support in 1 version but an old one. Have been trying to track it down for ages. The newer versions come up in launcher but none of the controls work. If anyone finds which version please let me know

I am using Real Racing 2 version 1.0.2 I am able to use the hardware controls.

Hmm... having trouble finding that version. I found a lot of Reckless Racing v1.0.2, but Real Racing 2's version numbering scheme makes it hard to pinpoint that one. Mind sharing your apk for Real Racing 2? Since it's a free-to-try game, I'm gonna try to make it real easy and convenient for everyone by making what would link to the market on my site send them straight to the confirmed working APK.

This is happening to me as well. It shows up in the Launcher but it is not optimized which is weird.

You know what, I must apologize, it is reckless racing 2.. My apologies. Thats what I get for replying to this stuff while at work....
I so want to play this game with the gamepad. Any idea if we can get the devolopers to make it optimized for the Xperia Play ?
Are you guys @ jgregoryj1, TLRtheory talking about the paid version or the free version? Because the free version is not optimized. Plays just like it does on my ipod lol.
I was playing this a few weeks ago on my skiing trip and I can confirm it is Xperia Play Optimised. I was using the left and right directional buttons to steer my car and I was using the L button to brake just like on the first game.
Edit: I have the paid version and have never tired the free version.

I just reinstalled the app and its version 1.0.2
On the what's new bit when viewing on the play shop it says "fixed Xperia play controls". I bought this app from the play shop a while ago.
The buttons only work when racing though as the menus are made for the touch screen.

as the game itself have great smooth graphics
and the physics seem really good but it plays crap

I want to buy this game but only if is optimized for our devices.

look at the market comments from other xplay users.
they are still begging for gamepad support.

Looks pretty cool, also looks like it is XP exclusive....I may buy it..after I finish DH 2 that is.

Bought this yesterday, it is awesome. THe touchpads works so well and the graphics are bright and crisp and clean. Sat down to play it for a couple minutes, 45 minutes later I was like" oh crap". Really a fun game. And I cannot stress how nice the touchapds work, THe dev did a seriouslt good job with the programming for touchpads. I prefer this to Dungeon Hunter series.....

Not going to comment on the warez part, the game itself is 1.99 on the PLAY store and in my opinion is totally worth it. And not that its a big deal but currently this game is Xperia PLAY exclusive on the market. You want english and Xperia support I highly recommend supporting the developer of the game and buying it, it really is a fun game and @ 1.99 is a steal already (you see that....pun..)

Do you think you can do a gameplay video for it? I just want to see it physically running before I buy it. As it is I may buy it anyways, just want to be sure because I only have 6.85 on my prepaid card atm..and was thinking of getting an.rcon app for my admin duties for my gaming clan.

I do have the screencast app, I can use that to record what I am playing. But be advised that the screencast app makes anything you do on the phone look al ittle laggy. Trust me this game flies.... and with nice graphics to boot. IF people really want to see it let me know and I can do a quick video of it and post a link here. If others have played it please post your thoughts on it as well.
The game boots really fast. Surprisingly I didnt see any lag considering the high graphic and effects etc even if your phone is OC or not.
Imo the only missing feature right now is multiplayer.

I agree. Multiplayer would be awesome and is the only thing missing..
So i went back to gingerbread today and I have to say this is one of the best games to come out for some time. I was wondering why i was getting lag spikes and it installed on my sd, moved to phone,no lag at all and it only has a 1.3mb size!

Hey guys.
Had my PLAY about 3 weeks or so now and absolutely love it! Came from an overclocked Galaxy S on JB and prefer everything about this phone!!!
One thing that's bugging me a bit though is that some games are coming up as 'not compatible with your device' in the play store when I think they should be. Fifa 12 is the prime example of this. Everyone says its compatible, even saying it was a PLAY exclusive, and I somehow downloaded a 60min trial when I first got the phone (possibly from EA's store?) so I know it works, but I wanted to download it in the 25p sale and it wouldn't appear on the phone's Play Store and on the PC one it just said not compatible so I couldn't get it. This isnt the only game to have this come up too. And where are games like Asphalt 5, as I have seen people playing these games that are seemingly not available in the play or gameloft stores?
I noticed a couple of other people have had this issue too but I havent seen any resolve
And I apologise if this has been asked previously but before anyone says 'use the search feature' I tried that and it keeps coming up with "search is temporarily unavailable.

Hey there and welcome to the community; I still love my Play as much as I did 6 months ago when I bought it! As far as your question goes, I don't have a concrete answer regarding the 25 sale but I can tell you how to get it. You have to go to EA's mobile store to get the compatible version but I highly doubt it will be 25 cents which certainly sucks but it couldn't hurt to try and I'd highly recommend it at full price. As far as some Gameloft games go its the same issue but I can't recall if 5 was ever optimized for the Play or not (I'm about 75% sure it is though) so give their store a try and see. It's a bit of a pain but there are maybe 1 or 2 Gameloft games that I've had to do this with and other than that only FIFA 12 so for the most part you'll never have to suffer through this bs again.

you can get asphalt 7 and it is amazing on play..with controls and graphics. plus there are game that you have to search for like check this link out

Your best bet is just flashing the original 2.3.4 ftf Rom, all games will be compatible then

Rooted yesterday as I needed more internal space and went from less than 50mb to over 100mb. Do you need to reformat the sd to use that link2sd?
I bought asphalt 6 + 7 just before I bought the phone as they were only 69p each!
