[Q] GT-P3110 Root problem - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to root my 3110 with the Heimdall procedure and the Odin way. Did not work, same problem as many others, the Odin update didn't "stick", coludn't get in to the CMW bootloader (or whatever it's called.
Tried to fix that with the suggested Heimdall driver update and once again tried the Heimdall way, now I canot boot the device. It gets stuck in, what I think is called the splashscreen. The startup sound works but I only see the Sansung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" text. I cannot connect to it at all with Odin (or Kies) anymore but Heimdall connects. Can I do some kind of reset från Heimdall? I'm not a root expert so please help me in simple words on how to solve this problem...

I bricked my Galaxy mini s5570,it boots to download mode, emergency dlmode or logo

Does Odin, Heimdall and Oneclick(still heimdall) work on all s5570s??
I flashed my phone with the wrong recovery image and the phone boots only to Download mode, emergency download mode and the samsung logo. I have since tried Odin but it gets stuck on "plcatform verification", tried heimdall (after I painstakingly created a heimdall package for the galaxy mini) but it gets stuck at "Error: could not initialize protocol" and one click simply says my phone is not connected.
So I'm now wondering since this is a soft brick, why are these methods failing even after trying all suggestions on this forum. I have tried this on Open Suse and Windows Xp and I have also seen a trail of frustrated owners who bricked their phones. Has someone found a solution to this black sheep that stray from normal methods of unbricking.
I believe the Galaxy mini is the most troublesome device to own when customizing it.

[Q] Bricked Note 10.1 N8010 PLEASE HELP !!!

Tried to update the firmware to JB, but ODIN failed half way through.. tried several times with stock firmware as well as N8000 firmware, but same result. drivers are installed and present.
tried Kies several times from emergency restore, but allthough it detects the Note, it cant connect to it... tried different computers but with no success.
any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...
Many thanks
Update via Odin with KIES off make sure its not running .
jje
First of all get an 8010 firmware and try to install that if you already have it the suggest get it from samfirmware and also download the firmware for your region.
If ODIN is connecting to your tab then the issue is not with drivers most probably there is an issue with the copy of firmware you downloaded just download it again.
I do not think updating while kies is on is such a big issue I never face any issue but may be it was connected to kies anyways just to be safe exit kies
Open task manager and kill all kies related stuff, if you just close it you will have some processes running. Only after that start odin and get on flashing whatever you have.

[Q] Rooting the impossible Sprint Samsung Gallaxy III

OK so I have around 14 hours trying to root my Sprint Galaxy SIII with no luck what so ever. I have tried every method I can find for windows, I've tried every port on my computer, I unistalled kies, tried the "samsung GS3 toolkit" I've tried every recovery image and .tar file I can find. Bottom line Odin will not work for me. It recognizes my device and starts to run but it gets stuck on recovery.img or sometimes boot.img and it won't get past it. I tried Odin 3.07 and Odin 3 V 1.85 and a bunch of other versions. Half of them crash my computer and give me the blue screen of death and the other half just hangup like i mentioned. I'm using windows 7 home 64bit edition on my Asus laptop. I've updated windows and even tried restoring windows. NOTHING WORKS!!! lol some one please tell me they can help?? Also I tried booting the phone into recovery mode and rooting it that way by flashing Superuser zips and recovery images. Someone please help.

[Q] 'Brick'd Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P5110

Hi,
My sister-in-law did an automatic update on her Tab 2 to 4.2.2 - when this finished she had no Home, Back, etc. buttons on the screen, this model does not have them on the bezel. Kies said that it had the latest and correct software for that model. I downloaded Odin and a single .tar file that purported to be a 4.0.1 for that device. However, when I attempted to flash this to the device it crashed straight away with a write error and the tablet now just has a permanent
Firmware upgrade encountered
an issue Please select recovery mode in
Kies and try again
Kies will not connect to the device, despite multiple attempts and several driver installs - Odin will connect to the device, but will not write to it... I need some help to resolve this please.
Fixed
I found another (obviously correct) system image that flashed on with Odin - problem solved...

[Q] FIrmware upgrade encountered an issue

Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me with my non-rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Tablet (GT-P110). The tablet won't go into download or recovery mode, and it's saying "Firmware Upgrade encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in KIES and try again". I've tried using Kies, but it's not recognising the device.
I've downloaded Odin 3.09 and a stock ROM from Samsung Updates. When I go to flash the ROM via ODIN it fails at around the 60-70% mark. I've tried a different stock ROM, but the same thing happens.
Is there anything else I could try?
Many Thanks...

Try a different cable if possible, different pc/laptop and go to samsung website and download drivers for your tablet model. Sometimes Kies doesn't do a good job with drivers.
Try rebooting tablet and connecting it right away to pc/laptop.
Good luck.

I have tried a different cable, laptop and downloaded the drivers from the Samsung website, but I was still stuck with the same problem. I tried using Odin 3.07 and this got me further than before. It went through the flash process and I then got the blue reset message. The problem is that the tablet doesn't reset and just goes to a black screen. When I try to manually reset the tablet it comes back with the same message "Firmware Upgrade encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in KIES and try again"
Has anyone got any other suggestions I could try?
Many Thanks...
I've had the exact same issue before and in my case simply removing the external sd card before flashing with Odin solved the problem.

I never thought of that because I keep a nandroid copy on my external SD, so I always pull it from my phone or tablet when flashing /reset just to be safe. Doesn't everyone do that?
