MicroSD format problem - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hello guys
I need help with this problem. Recently I bought a 64 GB sd card. When inserted the SD card into the tablet, it tells me that i have to format. When I tell it to format, it does nothing but get stuck at "Unmounting SD Card". I then inserted the sd card into a reader and connected the reader to the my PC. I formatted the SD card with SDFormatter 4. Once the formatting(Overwrite) was done, I then stuck the SD card into my tablet again. Still didnt want to mount the card and requires to format it.
Any one know the problem? And know how to fix it?

There is quite a bit of discussion on this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611681
Post #106 on this thread explains why Sandisk class 10 cards have trouble while the class 6 cards behave. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1460201&page=11

Is there any other formatting software that will allow me to change the SD card from exFAT to FAT32?

Which card do you have? Sandisk or other? Class 10, class 6, or?
I went through two class 10 cards before I got a class 6 card. I formatted the class 6 card with "FAT32 Formatter" from Ridgecrop and that one has been in use since October of last year.

I got the same error in the past with a PNY 32Gb Class 6, the solution, find a Camera which supports SD (use an adapter) and format the SD from there and Voila!! SD Fixed

well i solved the problem. i had to manually update to ics(Austrian) since south africa doesnt give out updates... Well ics formated the card and now got 64gb class 10 working

Interesting - I assume you're running an MTN GT7+... Does it recognize the entire 64GB as usable? (Just curiosity; I really don't need anything bigger than a few GB in my P6210.)

How do I mount my removable SD card to create a nandroid backup

I just purchased a 16GB micro SDHD card to put in my TF. Currently i'm running prime v1.5. I've formatted the micro sd card to FAT32 file system. When I insert it directly into the TF (not the dock) the TF recognizes and prepares the micro SDHD card when booted in the Android OS. I ran titanium backup and pointed the backup directory to my removable storage card. The process completed successfully.
Now the problem i'm having is getting CWM to successfully mount the removable storage card so I can run a nandroid backup. When I try to mount the card it simply gives me an error saying cannot mount sdcard. Is there something I need to do to get this to work? Any help is greatly appreciated.
bump - can anyone offer some advice on how to get this working?
The only thing you can do, it's change the sd.
I have the same problem and the only solution it's to use a 2gb old sd that works in cmw, so i can do a nandbackup and restore and the 16gb sd for anything else...

really? so 16GB cards dont work in CWM for anything? Just the smaller cards is all? Nobody on this forum has gotten a 16gb to work yet? I'll await a few more replies, if no solutions then off to Fry's to get another msdhd card, 2GB that is.

No, 16gb cards works on cmw, but not all the sdcards...
You aren't lucky, only this.
I have bought another 16gb in class 10 that works perfectly with cmw.
But the solution don't change, the problem is the sd, not the program, sorry for you
my 16gb works with CWM.

My Sandisk 32GB Class 10 works as well. (In case you're shopping for a new one.)
Have you tried booting into recovery mode without the MicroSD card inserted and then inserting and tried mounting once CWM has been loaded?
Ive a 16GB MicroSD from Toshiba which will only mount in CWM on my HTC Desire HD inif it's not present when CWM starts but will mount 100% of the time if I do the above.
In my TF I use a 32GB Lexar MicroSD this works fine for reference.

Sandisk Mobil Ultra 64 GB Micro SD card not recognized by Galaxy S III

Folks:
I am running Cyangenmod cm_d2vzw-userdebug 4.1.1 JR003L eng. 20120915.000012 test-keys on the Samsung Galaxy S III, and recently purchased the above-mentioned SD card. The phone wouldn't recognize it at all, giving me a "damaged SD card" message. I formatted it in the PC, then reinserted it in the phone. I still got a "damaged SD card" message, but was prompted to format the card. When I attempted to do so, the phone would stay in a "unmounting sd card" loop, and would never unmount it nor was I able to format the card.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to a reliable 64 GB SD card for this build? Your suggestions are very much appreciated, thanks so very much in advance!

Shouldn't be the phone unless it is the rom. I have 64 GB Class 10 formatted to Fat32 running in mine since device release.

Same here!
I have the same card class 10 with no issues. Have bought the wife two of them. Both have the error you do. Wouldn't work in my phone either but we can both mount any other SD card. If you cruise the forums you'll see high amounts of complaints about getting bad cards or them going bad fast. Seems to be the way class 10s are. My last class 10 for my bionic worked fine, but everyone else complained about high failure rates. Swap it out at the store for another and hope for better luck.

sd card can't format or do anything

hey guys! i bought an sd card 32gb Sandisk. i inserted in my phone and was working. i put the card in the usb adapter that was with card and then on my pc. i started transfering my files but all of a sudden it says that i need to format the sd card and that the sd had write protection. i tried to format the card but it says windows was anaible to complete the format. i tried to remove the protection using cmd but nothing happens. i tried sd formatter, and the disk management. still nothing. and my phone doesn't recognize the card anymore. i mounted it in my camera and said the card is not ready. and when i try to format i have ntsf and exfat as options and not fat32. oh.. and when i used sd formatter, although the card is 32gb it said 64gb the first time and when i retry it it said 1tb!! lol! and now it says nothing at all. just blank.
i don't know what to do... help me...
thanks in advance!!

OK, some SD cards are fake and may not work correctly. Depends a lot as to where you bought it. Did you purchase this card from a known good dealer? Have you tried to see if a PC can read the card? When you formatted the card in your 12.2 tablet, did you see the message something to the effect that you would loose all of your data?
If you don't have a PC then try to locate a friend that has one and let them try to read it. If that doesn't work, contact the place that you purchased it from. They may replace the card for you. But beware of fake cards.
Here's a link that explains fake SD cards and how to find out if yours is a fake:
http://www.ebay.com/gds/All-About-Fake-Flash-Drives-2013-/10000000177553258/g.html
I just did a google search for your problem and one guy had to reformat to a Fat32 format in order for his 64GB card to work. His card was formatted Exfat and that would not work.
One last thing to check: When you went to the format page in your tablet, did you see a 'Mount SD card' just above the 'Format SD card? IF so, mount it. If it won't mount then the card has a problem. Also when removing any SD card from the tablet you should 'Unmount SD card' first.
