Its more of a trick, should work with every ROM: use screen standby #root from the Google play store to turn your screen of. Maybe parts of the app can be integrated into the ROMs to fix this issue. If it was helpful please hit the thank button

Can somebody explain shortly how i can upgrade the bootloader?
Gesendet von meinem A510 mit Tapatalk 2
The easiest way is probably just to upgrade using the official 4.1 ROM, but it depends entirely on what you're currently using
Seems updated JB bootloader working fine
hard to find form my device (WW Gen1) official JB Update if some one need tellme i will upload.
And with Recovery got some fun , anyway all working fine no i can listen music with screen off.
THANKS

So I download thenofficial update - flash it - then install the newest recovery.
Will the official 4.1 Rom overwrite the recovery?

I downloaded official RV28RC04.PA.CUS1 295 MB file from Acer website.
Added # in front of 1st line.
Re-ziped the file and copied to external sd card. Restarted the tab by pressing ** + power button. Released power button while holding **. Tab goes into recovery mode, tries to install the zip file, after some time it fails and I get falling android icon.
BTW I removed Nothrills CWM Recovery. I tried with both CWM recovery->Update ZIP and OOTB recovery both fails.
Please help.. If I install another other ROM other than US ROM will I get update from Acer?
I just want to get to JB Bootloader from ICS bootloader. After that I plan to install custom ROM.
Thanks
Zukaa
I was able to solve this issue.
Removed CWM recovery, restarted tab. Shutdown Tab. Restarted tab, put it in bootloader mode-> Volume(**) + Power Button, release Power button on first vibration, toggle rotation switch. Follow this link to install the recovery image. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1866378
Once recovery is installed install the stock update.zip.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2042239
After installing I immediately got ICS and JB updates from Acer.
Thanks everybody.

Hi,
i've the same problem. I cannot flash a offical acer stock rom with stock cwm (update.zip on external SD card), because I always get a dead android with read exclamation mark.
And I didn't find a zip file of the official acer JB update (to flash it with nothrill cwm) - the ota JB update (and that seem to be the only way to get JB bootloader) didn't work because I always get a "recovery verified failed" error as soon cwm starts.
Can anybody help?

Dobernikc,
Try boot directly from NoThrill Recovery. Get the latest NoThrill recovery img file. Power up to Fastboot and do "Fastboot boot Nothrillrecovery.img" and do your official update from there instead of stock cwm.

THX a lot for the reply, but the problem is, that I cant find the JB update as CWM zip file!
The only way, I can download the update is via offical acer updater on the tablet - but there is no zip on my tablet flash (I can't find the location).
Nobody share this zip in the web - I googled a lot but I can't find any source!

Hi!
Just found a way to update to JB from the 1.053 version (Acer_AV043_A700_RV22RC03_EMEA_DE) on wich every other update failed for me. But runs with the other versions, too.
Unlock Bootloader
Install CWM (6.0.1.4)
Visit this german forum
get the file A700 JB Full ROM AV051_1.028.00_EMEA_DE RV09RC02.zip
flash it via CWM
DONE!
Just tested and it's working.
Credits go to those who deserve it.
I deleted CWM and a mate let it where it was and both A700 are running fine [*] (see below!)
... now waiting for root
----------------------------
[*] New info:
My friend, who kept CWM, unlocked the bootloader again after the update and now has a bootloop. So my advice is to kill CWM after the update.
I don't get into recovery too (with locked bootloader) it says "recovery image verified failed". But system starts normally afterwards.
------------------
More info:
I had CWM on the tab too, because i misunderstood the question:
When asked
Code:
ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?
No
No
No
Yes - Disable recovery flash
say NO! to kill CWM.
------------------
Still more info to come:
(4.10.2012)
The bootloop was fixed by flashing a propriate recovery after beeing able to enter fastboot using the right key combination.
andiby left us a JB stock recovery: recovery.img and he build a CWM 6.0.1.4 with JB Kernel: recovery-a700-6014JB.img which runs fine for me.
Use the CWM with JB Kernel only to flash files and not to WIPE, FORMAT or RESTORE a backup, because there were issues with a different JB based CWM and I can't guarantee this one to work, because I have not tested it.
I'm on FR Firmware, can you tell me how should I proceed?
If you want to keep the FR firmware you will have to wait for an appropriate update file.
If you want to switch to Germen I think it should work with this method, because the zip file contains everything from bootloader to system files.
Do you think I can here: https://app.dumptruck.goldenfrog.com/p/GOKKb2PavJ download an install then install Acer_A700_AV043.RV07RC03_AV043.RV07RC06_EMEA_DE thereafter this here JB?
I would not recommend it, because your file is only 340 MB while the one from the thread above is nearly 400 MB.
I think you only need the file from my post, because there is everything in it fpr JB afaik, but I can give no guarantee, because I only used it to update my German version.
PS: Might it be posible to reduce the size of your signature a bit? Threads are much more difficult to read if a signature is almost always larger than a normal post. Thank you to give consideration to my request.

I just don't get why you want to flash anything else before the "A700 JB Full ROM AV051_1.028.00_EMEA_DE RV09RC02.zip" because it is a FULL ROM and should be flashable over ICS 1.023, ICS 1.027, ICS 1.053 and ICS 1.055 to get JB 1.028.

Can you boot into bootloader? Then go fastboot.
On your pc install the google sdk then open a prompt comand window and type "fastboot getvar cid".
Paste what you got here with the CID someone can find for you the correct RUU for you. This means you can restore the phone.
An other way is flashing a custom recovery wiping and installing a custom ROM there are a lot sense roms and if you like personalization the new viper 3.0 based on 4.2.2 and sense 5.0 is out. If you prefer stock android look come try my RM in the development forums Have a nice day.

Don't want be rude, but this error was asked multiple times in the past 2 weeks and there are already at least 5 threads opened with this question and exact screen. First of all, you can not OTA update with TWRP, only with Cyanogen recocery. Either that or dowload the full ROM and flash it.

Then something was wrong, cause based on that screen you are still on Android 4.4.2 (fingerprint).
It is better to flash the full ROM, not the delta: CN-12.0-YNG1TAS2I3-bacon-signed-FULL.zip
This can be flashed also from TWRP.

flash new bootloader and modem first, then flash ROM
