plz help me guys .
i unlocked n rooted my HTC explorer few dyas back n partitioned the sd card using mini tool partition wizard .
i installed cmw recovery and made a backup of the stock rom .
i then flashed cmw 9.1 ics without the htc sense and it worked fine just messed my sd card's partition .
then i was eager to flash flyrom with htc sense , but that required a minimum of 1 gb space on my sd-ext and also requires to mount sd-ext and cache .
i boot into recovery , wipe and factory reset data but then when i try to mount sd-ext it shows an error "failed mounting sd-ext.img" .
after that i switch back to my stoch rom htc sense3.5, gingerbread on htc explorer , but it also is iving me hell lot of problems .
like apps hang , they delete on their own etc.
please if anyone would just tell me the easy and safe way to mount my sd-ext , it wud be of great help .
THANKS .

CM stores dalvik cache for all system apps in /cache/dalvik-cache instead of /data/dalvik-cache.
Flash mounts2sd.zip from this thread (the first one).

if you want to move dalvik cache for more internal space then i dont recommend you on doing that..it slows the phone doen (unless you have class 6/10 memory card)..i suggest you use int2xt+ ...for me its the best out there!!

I'll pm you!
or i will just put it here only..
so basically what it does is that it mounts /sd-ext to /data and leaves application data in internal storage for speed..
im assuming you already know about ext partition and you have partitioned your sd card!! (if you haven't then tell me)
if you want to implement int2ext+ in a rom then download the script from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
extract it..now download the zip of rom you want to use and make a copy of it somwhere else in your hard disk and open it through winrar..remember do not extract it..navigate to /system/etc/int.d in winrar only and delete all everything in the folder and drag and drop the file you extracted from int2xt+ zip..it will do some working and when its finished just close it...flash this modified zip..and you will see internal memory increased in storage (150mb+the size of ext partition u have made)
EDIT:
It may happen that your rom doesn't boot ..so you make another copy of the original rom and repeat the whole procedure except that dont delete anything in init.d folder..
for example i deleted all files from init.d in cm9.1 build#9 (i dont know what will happen if i dont) and it works..i remember that i deleted all files in evervolv but it didnt boot so i copied without deleting and it booted perfectly!!
i m switch to cm9 build8 rom from jaggy,,,so need sum info.
>use tethering pc to mobile...so i can use my pc internet in my mobile???where is this option??
>i read sumwhere that titanium bckup must be avoided ...so wt i use now for my bckp and restore???

>one thing i notice also when my phone is switch off mode and if i connect it to charging then my recovery menu get open,is this ohk??
tnx a lot from vshl2995 ! your method works perfectly  i'm very happy speed and performance is really good :good::good:
just 1 Q , can you tell me if i want use another sd card ,for example 16GB sd card (i'm using 8GB sd card now) how can i do that ???

Oh switching sd cards can be pain in the ass.. Anyway make a partition on ur new sd card (same partition u made on ur old card) make a nandroid backup with your old sd card inserted in mobile.. This makes backup of your sd-ext partition (of course ).. Now copy the whole folder (clockworkmod folder if u are using Cwm and TWRP folder if u are using touch recovery) to your new sd card using your pc or lappy.. Be sure that your phone is switched off or in recovery mode while you are switching cards.. Now when you have copied the backup(s) to your new sd card, insert it in your phone and restore sd-ext part only.. If that doesn't work then full wipe your phone and do a full restore!! Rest of the things in your memory card you will have to copy manually through pc or you can dump your data in cloud and download when new sd card inserted..!

2.any backup u make from gingerbread roms will be useless.. FCs will occur due to compatibility problems.. You will have to install all apps again
3.for contact syncing fb apps itself supports it.. But I use fb contact sync app for it.. It's awesome if you want their pics to be shown in conyacts.. If you want to sync birthdays you can add your fb calender to Google calendar (if you don’t know how to do dat tell me) your Google calendar is automatically synced with ics stock calendar.
4. Now that's atrange.. Never happened with me...

Now i plan to install the JaggyRom 4.0.3 on my HTC Explorer. Do you think its a good idea ?
I only have a 2GB SD Card , is there any requirement that i have to convert at least 1GB to ext partition before installing the ROM.
Any other things which you would suggest i take care of before proceeding ?
Thanks a lot
Give link to rom which you wan't to install.
Especially Jaggy 4.0.3 was GB with sense 3.5 I THINK, so you don't need 1gb ext, even 512 will do. If it's ICS with sense 4 you need 1gb ext.
My advice: Don't worry if first time it stucks on white htc screen, if this happens, just try wiping everything again and flash again.
And another thing you can download this http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?lim1od8qrjdbblp you flash it before you flash the rom, it wipes everything by it self, I'm not sure how it works with sense 4, but for every athor rom it's fine.
Hi,
sorry not allowed to post the links yet.
androidforums[dot]com/explorer-all-things-root/656605-rom-sense-jaggyrom-4-0-3-12-10-12-a[dot]
please edit the link
I think i shall try this one now, and once i get the knack of it , i'll buy myself a bigger memory card and try ICS
Please let me know if i should go forward with it.
Thanks for the help .
Uff ya, forgot about links restriction, with this one you don't need more than 512mb of ext. Just don't forget to flash 'wi-fi fix' after install and follow the instructions.
With this one you also can use the 'superwipe.zip' that I've posted in the previous post, instead of wiping everything manually, whichever suits you best.
Also if you wan't you can check out cm9, it's ICS and its stable, for it you don't need 1gb ext partition. Well that's it, have fun

Thanks ,
i'll try the JaggyRom and tell you how it goes.
If you want to keep your Rom pure stock then flash the one by immortal_yash with ext support. It's smoother then jaggyrom 4.0.3 for me or you can flash cm9.1 build 14 . It's your choice so try and use the one which is best for you...

1. Make ext3 partition
2. Do not overclock... you can /rather will cause permanent damage
3.you don't need to use internal memory as ram ~if you do, it may reduce life of SD card

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
What i observed was that the phone started restarting after i had run the following command (to enable ext4 to be used as part of internal memory):
Code:
su
m2sd rmount enable
so i again ran
Code:
su
m2sd rmount disable
after which it stopped restarting. Any pointers what could be the reason for this ? I have a 2GB card, not sure which class , but since it came with the phone i believe it should be class 2 or class 4
Type in terminal emulatur 'm2sd status'
It will show what is enabled, answers will come.
And did you used superwipe.zip, or manually wiped everything. And normally it's better ext partition to be ext2 or ext3.

Well have you removed the sd card while the phone was on?.....If thats the case then you may have to reflash the rom....
Also download roms from xda itself because it is posted by the original devs themselves and you get better support.
Consider using jaggy 4.1 by me....

And will i loose the data again ?
Thanks.
Edit : Not sure if its releavant, but i can't connect to the memory card by using the "Disk Mode" from the mobile.

Hey guys ,
I have tried searching on the net , google , xda but all methods failed ...no sense 4 rom is booting for me ..but all other roms like jellybean , ics , stock , gingerbread ......so please help........
First of all.. you should know that you have to create a partition of at least 1GB SD-EXT.... Make it an EXT3 type preferably.
You can try to manually wipe system/cache/data/boot/dalvik cache and factory reset and then flash the sense 4.0a based ROM.. ( or use superwipe but there is some controversy that it converts any partition to ext2.. Its updater script says that but I doubt it actually does )
If that doesnt work :
Try changing recovery to : Yannou's recovery / TWRP 2.4.4
Still doesnt work : Try Changing partitions to ext2/3/4 etc and try your luck
Still doesnt work : Get a higher class SD card.
Still doesnt work ? : Get another phone

Dude this problem is being faced by every other person with a class 4 sd card and trying to install sense ics based roms,me too!!
So the only solution is to change your SD CARD and get a new class 10 card. The rom installs like a charm on class 10 sd card.
P.S::tried everything written above but finally had to change my sdcard!!
