Hay guys I have a problem. Out of 12 gigs around 4 gigs are under misc.
Any idea where those went?
I've checked my download folder and there is not 4 gig worth of stuff in there
I recently went to another build on aokp and before I restored my apps via titanium backup it was still high under misc.
Any idea how to find out what's taking up so much room?
Maybe an app that can find out for me?

Nandroid backups are pretty big... Use astro file manager or root file explorer than check the size of your /cyanogen folder

I deleted my nandroid from my internal and it deleted about 4 gigs of stuff...when you backup in CWM, make sure you backup to external sd card..
I would say it's system files the rom uses but it looks like that 4gb is already accounted for as your total space says 12gb vs 16gb like on a tw rom

Is it okay to delete the even the latest nandroid backup?

Myspace is still there, it's just been overrun by the likes of Facebook and twatter but I think it's still better.

You can delete whatever you want but if your using cwm I would delete the back ups through recovery and not a file manager because someone says it doesn't get rid of all the blobs that way. Also I would keep at least one back up just in case.

Went into nandroid but only I when I went to the delete option there is said that there were no files to be deleted. Which is odd because eight before I did a factory reset, I deleted some of my other nandroid backups. So I deleted them via root explorer but still up to 3 gigs of misc. Is that normal?

So is it not possible to put apps on the sdcard at all?
Whats it good for?
If I'm not mistaken as it stands right now you can't use apps2sd or link2sd or any of that. they are working on it I think lol

I load my apps in the internal and my media on the external.
Hopefully someone comes up with a way to move apps.
I just received my tablet and would like to know if this is still the case with not being able to move apps to sd. I've tried the apps 2 .sd app with no luck and don't get the option through the stock software.
Thanks

Tried using that app just now it didn't work. I selected the game I wanted from the list and hit move, and it moved it, but then when I went to start the game from my app draw it started downloading the data all over again. There was no other way to start the app even from within GL2SD. Maybe I did something wrong?
Any other ways anyone can think of? or do I have to wait till we get something better created?

I'm curious about this as well, I use some dictionaries that are close to a giga a piece app I have no room left, but I have a mostly empty 16 GB card that could hold those dictionary files.

If you are rooted try directory bind. Works great for me.

Unfortunately I'm not that advanced. I prefer stock, anything goes wrong and I can bring it on to the store and complain.

When I have my phone plugged into the PC, I noticed that is showing up as only having 9.9GB of total space. Is my on board SD card corrupted or something?

You can only use about that much for storage. It's normal. Please change the prefix of this thread to [solved]

No....the other partition of your memory Is for the phones software files, Rom, and some other things. It's not true 16 gigs....all phones are like that even the iPhone. Any phone that has built in memory for storage is like this
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
It's about right. A part of it is allotted to system storage (ROM)
If you have Titanium backup it will show you how it's broken down.
If not use "Quick System Info" I don't have the HOS with me or I would tell yo exactly how it's broken down.
Off my head about 1.8 is for system (ROM) maybe 1.5 or so for internal storage
a little over 10 for sdcard.
Once we get s off well be able to partition and get abit more space
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
As others said you don't get to use that full 16GB. There really should be a marketing law so they can stop this sorta confusion. Kinda ripping us of here.

that is...IF we get s-off. Currently there is no real effort for the one s unlike the one x or one v....
Here's a screenshot, the bottom show how the internal is partitioned.

I'm using Foldermount from the playstore.
You can copy the content of programm u need on the SD card, create the same folder structure on the internal storage, and create a link between the 2 with it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
Root required.

Directory Bind is what youre looking for. Its hasnt got a great gui and can be a bit hard, but it lets you link whole folders on the sd.
As an example for games you could link your obb folder totally on the sd.

Also you can swipe memories if you want which also good..

Why not just use the external2internal mod to swap your external memory with your internal? I have been using it for months, and it works perfect for me:

As you can see, my 64gb micro SD is being read as my internal memory, and vice versa. A must have for me, as I have over 25gb of games alone.
You can find it in the development section. As that thread is full of confusing people, you can also PM me your email address and I can send the one file you have to flash in recovery.
Keep in mind that the mod works best with Perseus or Neak kernel.

This can happen when the .odex file from a previous install remains in /data/app. I have used a file manager, "root explorer" to delete the file.

Thanks for posting this info!!!
I had the same problem I had deleted Titanium Backup and tried to re install it but kept getting the popup saying insufficient storage available.
Sure enough I opened the data/app file and there was an odex file for TiBu and once I deleted it I was able to install TiBu no problem.

I'm making an appointment with geeksquad (phone came from best buy) and the service rep I talked to said they'd most likely replace it for me. If not, my computer asks me if I want to format the drive (repeatedly when I plug it in with every drive letter of the alphabet) what would happen if I did?

Just restore back to stock. There is a lot of info on how to do this on this forum. You don't need the geek squad.
