It seems that I can't find my files that I downloaded on twrp. Is their something I'm missing?

You cannot download files on TWRP. What is the exact issue you are having? You cannot find the files you placed on the second (EXT4) partition? Or have you placed them on the first (FAT32) partition? Is your internal storage unavailable?
Ask in the d2sd thread in the dev section and read the instructions again and what others have posted - I'm sure it will help get some answers

Hey everyone,
I hated to post this here, but apparently I'm too newbish by xda standards to post in the related xoom dev thread.
I followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068999
Using Clockwork I flashed the attached kernel (Tiamat 1.6ghz w/ UMS) and installed USB Watcher from the app store. I get a notice that the usb cable is attached, but when I select "Turn on USB Storage", the notification icon spins for a minute then stops. No sign of storage on my pc.
I had missed the attached kernel the first time I installed 'Watcher', so I am not sure if that may be the cause.
Any thoughts?
You don't need app watcher to access your SD. When using Tiamat kernel on HC3.1 your data will be at sdcard/external. Did you flash the new boot image before the kernel? Also, XDA may be right about you being too newbish to post in the dev section since you apparently did not read the sticky about NOT posting questions in the dev section.

I did see that it mounts to /external after a little more exploring. I just wanted to mount the sd card to my pc to upload larger files. But with an sd card reader that is not a major task. I have not switched boot images, only kernels.
I didn't see to not post questions to the dev forum, so that is my bad. I'll be sure and read that sticky. This xoom is the first android device I've had I could really delv deeply into. My Fascinate is a bit more complicated, thank you Samsung. =p

Hi All ,
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket and I had flashed ICS 4.0.4 -i727UCALC4 leaked ICS. I do see the following app crash :
1) Gallery App crash when i try to select any image as wallpaper
2) Music Player crash when I try to play any file from SD card folder.
So is there any other ICS that I can flash ?
Can anyone suggest me one ?
Any of them in our section. Sounds like you need to do some reading first though

Hi ,
Thanks for your reply.
Since I'm new to this forum & custom rom installation , I do not where to start and what to install. I read some posts and found that there are lot of other ROMS and I got confused as to which one to take and how to proceed ?

To help you out just go in the Development section and look for anything that has [ROM] 4.0.X and then follow the instructions the dev has listed. Though I'll post this before it gets locked.

Will move to Q&A. That being said OP you have a lot of reading to do. Start with the Stickies on the different forums for this device. First and foremost take a look at this thread and lock at my signature for the new members guide as well.
Cheers
Can you install zip files on your phone using cwm without connecting to cpu? With a file manager of course. Sorry I'm new and always wondered that.

The only stupid question is one you ask without reading and researching in an effort to find the answer yourself first. Whether that applies here is something only you will know.
That being said, what you're talking about is called flashing, and is one of the most basic functions of CWM (or any recovery). You can do it, but only if the ZIP you're installing is flashable. If you try to install a non-flashable ZIP through CWM, you will cause serious mayhem and may brick your phone. Luckily, virtually all ZIPs have flashable/non-flashable specified by the author, so if you flash a non-flashable ZIP and brick yourself, it's pretty much 100% of the time your fault for not paying attention.
Flashing is detailed in vincom's excellent sticky posts, which are required reading for anyone who wants to mod their phone, and should be read through and fully understood before one even thinks about modding their phone. You can find them in his signature, or you can just look at the top of the various Skyrocket forums and find them there.
I've read vincoms post and no where did it say you could flash a zip without being on a pc. And I'm not completely new I flash roms all the time what I was just asking if I could download the zip file on my phone and flash it. Once in a while your going to miss a thread or two. And this is the q&a thread. You can ask anything you want. YOU Didn't have to reply. So the only stupid thing here is you buddy. Thanks though

Mods: we've resolved this amongst ourselves. It was a misunderstanding on both ends, and context was lost in translation.
I don't get the question.. I've never flash anything while connected to my PC except the first time when I used Odin. I flash stuff every day without being connected to a pc.. That's sort of the point of CWM. However, I would recommend Sk8's newest touch CWM instead of the official version.

I think he is referring to getting the files on his phone without first downloading on computer and then transferring over. My understanding is that he wants to directly download files to the phone and move to SD with a file manager

Sounds like he needs to elaborate and use better English then and not get so uppity when he gets an answer he don't like

I think the answer to your question, if I understand it right, is yes. As long as it is a flashable zip you can use cwm, twrp or even ROM manager. The only issue, for me anyways, is finding the file once it's downloaded. It should go to the downloads folder but sometimes mine goes to my external SD card. Just a challenge and I usually accept and win. Hope that's what you're after.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I can't seem to find the onexchopper Ownage and busybox files to use supercid for my phone... I read both threads about unlocking the bootloader but I can't find a link for these files to put in my platform tools folder where my adb is... If anyone has any more info on this please help

Firstly, you're posting in the wrong section, questions go in the Q&A Section, because it's for questions, ya know.
Secondly, you can't have looked very hard because the download link is in the first post of the 3.18 root thread.

I have been using TWRP recovery for the longest time.
I had to recently change my SD card due to issues to a 64 gig SanDisk MicroSCXC card
All recoveries work fine. CWM, Phil etc but for some reason TWRP wont allow saving backup to external
it gives error
E: Unable to create folder: /external_sd/TWRP/
errno=13
failed to make backup folder
I formatted the card to exFat and Fat32 and in both cases same thing
Recovery can read the SD with no issues
Any ideas at this point?

Make sure you're using the latest version. Had that issue on 2.6. Something. Since then I've updated to the newest and have no issues.
