I was using the HTC ONE S all in one tool kit. I wasn't paying attention (a.d.d.) and accidently flashed clockworkmod recovery in the kernal section. I keep going into the clockworkmod but cant get out. Please I do not know what to do from here. Im in DYER need of help. Hope to hear from you all soon. Thanks.
Use toolkit to flash twrp recovery and you'll be fine.

I had already flashed the TWRP recovery. It keeps taking me to the recovery.
I think i might have deleted the stock kernal when I accidently flashed the recovery in the kernal section. Any other suggestions?
Just flash Rom from twrp, fastboot flash boot.img from zip and it should work.

Ok so i found the elemental kernal i think. I downloaded it. Do i extract it and just put the boot in the flash kernal section of the aio. Its the only file with boot.img I really dont want to mess this up more.
Elemental its for jb. Thatone won't work for you.

Beastmode won't work, unless you already have a working boot.img Try, using kilns fusion ultimate kernel.

I don't know if this is completely true, but you may need to relock your bootloader and go back to the stock recovery in order to get the ota update. Obviously, if someone makes a rom from it you can just use that.

i love you!
Can someone post a flashable zip? I don't want to run the RUU because I don't want to update my hboot.
Alternatively, if someone could post a TWRP nandroid backup file that I can restore, that would work too
I'm currently running the European 2.21 release with the 1.06s radio.
TY!
Sense 4.1 is wicked fast and the option to remove the menu on screen button is awesome more screen real estate for me . My recent apps button now functions as menu button sweet.

Yeah, I thought that was a flashable zip. But I can't flash it using a custom recovery.
FYI people this update also allows more apps to work and download from the play store

Anyone perform the update with encrypted storage? Just want to make sure it doesn't mess anything up before updating. From what I'm seeing, though, this is a nice upgrade.
Was lurking thru here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1694012...I want to flash the 2.29 one. It said to just flash from recovery... Is that right? I know that flashing radios is more risky that's why I'm asking u all so I won't brick my phone since I can't seem to find any answers.

Instructions:
1) Copy zip file to SD Card 2) Boot into Recovery 3) Flash 4) Reboot
Always take a Nandroid Backup in case something goes screwy!
Note: If you're having issues after flashing, and reboot into recovery and wipe cache/dalvik cache, and reboot.

Ok trying to cover my bases. I'm stock 2.20 and looking to root and flash roms. I've done this on the one x in the past but it was during the 1.73 and 1.85 era.
Now when I achieve root and get a custom recovery pushed.... Now every time I flash a rom I need to also pull the boot.img from the zip?
And when do I flash that? Prior to the rom flash or after?
Thanks

Yes. that needs to be done after flashing ROM. if you are flashing an updated version of same ROM and if there are no changes in kernel.. no need to do that..

ok im new to the one x also and have rooted and installed viper, im looking to install a jelly bean rom and make nandroids of everything so ill have some options. so say i want to switch to one of my nandroids, do i need to keep each boot.img from each rom and flash each time i nandroid or am i safe to just restore and reboot?
you need to still flash each boot.img from the roms you made nandroids of
As of right now I can't load any Rom except for venom. I don't know what is stopping my phone from working.
Background, dropped phone in the toilet, dried it out and everything worked. Went to change roms and something got messed up during the install which cause the phone to have no Os and no usb support. Got all of that straight, reloaded the phone back to stock, rooted it again, unlocked it, and loaded venom.
I have tried to load other roms but it will install in recovery but after reboot it will stay on the loading screen for the rom.
Any help will be great. Thanks!

*facepalm* all roms have there own boot.img. if you open your Rom you'll see what says boot. That is it and you go into fastboot and flash it or use the flash gui app

Venom has a way of flashing the boot.img for you...but otherwise since you're on hboot 1=14 you have to manually flash the boot img....dont worry that's why were here to help!

Unfortunately it sounds like when you reflashed to stock you upgraded the hboot, which in turn makes it so you have to flash the boot.img through fastboot. It's unfortunate, but there is a JET tool if you're experienced in Linux to downgrade your hboot. but, like I said, don't do it unless you're confident.
Thanks guy. I got it to work with the flash GUI. Back to clean Rom!

just use [APP] Flash Image GUI - Flash Kernels and Recoveries from normal Android mode!
or flash the boot.img with fastboot then flash the zip in twrp for the modules, make sure to wipe cache and dalvik
Okay I will try that but I thought s-off made it so that you don't have to flash the boot.IMG. (I have s-off)
