Hello there. I had just got done unlocking my bootloader and rooting my phone...after several failed attempts on trying to install a custom rom I went to install my stock rom...I got the stock rom to install but now the phone itself wont boot up. I have done a battery pull and left the battery out for two days....nothing will want to turn on....I went to my cmd and tried to boot up that way and it didnt work I put in "adb devices" and my Huawei Ascend 1 will show but the Nexus S 4G wont show.....any help would be GREATLY appreciated...

Did that and still nothing...Is there any way to hard reset???
I believe this is another Nexus S bites the dust from JB update.
Motherboard is toast. Send in for warranty repair.

Well I think this is bad because I dont have a warranty anymore....
Can u get into recovery?
After u unlocked, did u immediately make a backup of that stock ROM?

I do have TWRP v.2.2.0...although no I didn't make a backup..My Nexus S rootkit was able to download the 4.1.1 update so I didn't really think I had to worry about that all that much...

how to unroot a phone and claim back warranty?
Hi, I'm using Nexus S.
I found on the wiki
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Flashing_Guide_-_Android
that Nexus S can relock the unlocked bootloader by using this command
fastboot oem lock
I give it a shot. and the bootloader is now locked.
I reboot my phone. The boot up only has a Google logo without the lock icon.
Does it means my phone is now unrooted? and ready to claim back warranty?
My suggestion is to odin back.

Odin first then re lock bootloader sir.

sorry, What's odin?
Odin is a windows tool used by samsung support staff to restore their android phones to stock. This is the most complete way to restore your device.
Please note that using odin on your 9023 will change your carrier info to EUR which I did never see in wild!
But honestly, do you really think samsung is checking your devices that exhaustingly? Time's money.

Basically ODIN is the program to be used in order to get the ota or go back to stock condition, you will have to go back to stock recovery. Odin is a program for your pc to flash your phone and can put the stock recovery back.

Do you still have superuser installed?
And if you boot into recovery, is it stock or clockwork?
I did it like this: restored to stock 2.3.3 with nandroid backup. Then i removed superuser. Locked the bootloader. Still had cwm recovery though.
But as soon as i updated to 2.3. 4, the recovery turned stock too.

Hi bro, since it's back to stock and the fastboot being locked. technically my warranty is claimed back? haha
They wont really care about your software. Really.
In the warranty term and condition stated that if only your software is the problem, then you will be in trouble. If not, it's alright.

unfortunately that's not right! i got my NS back on friday (sent it in, because my display is on some parts not reacting on touch any more), with the message, that my warranty is void due to an application, that is able to change system data...(no more information yet, i am still in discussion with the service center)...though i have unrooted and relocked the bootloader?!
Hey, i was having trouble with a reoccurring issue with my nexus s: the search button would fire on it own making it almost impossible to use my phone. The nexus was rooted and had clockworkmod installed, so i went ahead and flashed a 2.3.4 version of gingerbread. after the flash was complete, the phone would not turn on whatsoever. not even a boot logo, the screen is just black. cannot even get it into recovery mode.
help would be much appreciated.

You have to be pretty unlucky to REALLY brick one of those, assuming you took the proper steps when first rooting it. Nandroid backup + EFS backup = almost bulletproof.

So you don't see any Google logo when you turn it on? Don't get any vibration either?
Could be the BGA failing. That's one of the most common physical problem for the Nexus S, with the power button failure and the softkeys starting to active like they were possessed.

No I'm unable to do anything, can't even get my computer to recognize the phone, I'm beggining to lose hope I feel like I've tried everything. No boot loader, no recovery, just a blank screen with no response whatsoever. I believe I may have flashed an incorrect rom and corrupter the boot loader or something along those lines, at least thats what
my friend believes
Thanks
You could try the UnBrickable Resurrector

My wife's Samsung Exhibit II 4G has a broken USB port so I am getting a warranty replacement from T-mobile.
I rooted her phone, installed CWM Recovery and a custom ROM.
Few questions:
1. Does T-mobile check for root or custom installs?
1a. If so, is there anyway to return the phone to stock without access to ODIN?
I have done a factory reset and wiped /system from within CWM Recovery
2. What else can I do?
Do you have backup of stock OS?If you do then try restoring to it.

Mobile Odin Pro could flash the stock firmware for you. After that you'll probably need to get a jig to clear your counter on your phone. All carriers check to see if you phone is rooted before servicing.

Assuming your wife's phone is remotely similar to mine, in download mode on the top left corner there are some stats on whether you have flashed a custom kernel or anything. You need a jig to clear those stats. Also using the jig will remove the yellow triangle upon boot on rooted phones, I'm not sure how your phone works though but they are pretty similar.

Isn't that only for some Samsung devices? Do all Samsung phones have that counter?
So I have Cyanogen Mod 9 on my phone at the moment, but I am trying to factory reset the phone. Using CWM I select the restore to factory setting option, however, when I restart CM9 is there on my phone. I tried going into the settings and doing it as well. Any idea on how to get back to stock ICS?
Do you mean stock ics unrooted then you have to unroot

hello, i have major issue on my nexus 5. my phone keep stuck in bootloop and its rooted, unlocked bl and have cwm. sent it for repair at the place i buy it but they dont accept it because the water mark in the phone turned red. furthermore, my nexus is an AP set, so cant sent for manufacturer warranty. i try to sent it to my friend (he's pro in fixing phone software) but still he cant fix it. the cwm also lost so i have no recovery. i presume that the phone broke because of software or hardware (my nexus 5 power button rattle) or maybe both..its been a month and i almost give up on my nexus 5 but i dont want to buy new phone cause im a student and have a tight budget. im willing to repair my nexus 5 but idk where i should sent it for repair. im willing to sent it to repair to overseas if its necessary. im from malaysia btw. please help me anybody out there :crying::crying:

Flash the factory image first. If it doesn't work, use the LG tool to completely flash everything on your phone from scratch.
If that doesn't work, you'll have to send it somewhere to get it fixed.
