I had the German factory 4.1.2 rom on my 8013 for a short time before the new U.S. release of 4.1.2 .
The German rom had a brightness control that would let you turn on the auto-brightness and then you could adjust the level of auto brightness.
How can I get this option on my U.S. factory 4.1.2 rom?
Thanks
I'm using the German MA5 firmware, but the option to adjust auto brightness in 3 steps has gone in that firmware too, unfortunately

I just flashed the MA8 rom on my Dutch tablet through Odin. On ICS I could adjust the brightness while it was set to 'Auto' with the slider, thus I could change the minimum-brightness that the device would use. Now with Jelly Bean I can still adjust the slider while 'Auto' is ticked, but no changes to brightness unfortunately... Has this been removed in all Jelly Bean ROM's? Because I think it's a great feature actually!

Ah crap, then I guess something is not working completely as it should on this ROM... Or, I should do a factory reset but I'm not looking forward to that haha. Already cleared cache, no effect.
I see that others also have problems however: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32688018 Quite alot of reactions show that some people can't even move the slider when brightness is on 'Auto', cause then it's unticked, and some also have my issue that is does nothing, issues show on both ICS and JB-builds. Weirrrrrrrd weird! More issues here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31270176 where people have alot of different experiences Even seems to differ between version (2010 versus 2013). I'll await the next update to see if it fixes this, in the meantime start using lux.

It also can turn off the background light of buttons.

This would be really nice if you could add an auto feature that has more too it than the stock one to save more battery. Like winmo Lumos
Works very well with my Evo 4g running Damage3.2.3 neterty kernal 7.1a rooted
Maybe also a widget with custom or pre-defined settings for easy access?
I really wish you could make this like lumos MANY MANY users have asked for this already for the evo
What Lumos is? Where can I found it?
Most excellent ! finally i can stop those stupid backlighted buttons when i use my phone in the dark
But i found the brightness range is the same as what i have normally from the phone manual settings (Desire), i hoped it could go lower.
don't work on Galaxy S.
a question: can i make it darker then 0% (in the settings>) ?
sry for my english

You are right. Galaxy's are not supported. It works perfectly on Hero.
This app is great. It turns the backlight completely off on the myTouch 3G which is just what I wanted. It would be great if you could add the ability to make shortcuts on the desktop to a particular setting.
So I could hit a shortcut/widget on the desktop to change the brightness to 10 (backlight off) and then one to turn it back to 20 (backlight on).
Thanks for the app!
I found out about AdjBrightness yesterday in a thread where it was discussed it's possible to lower the brightness more than the standard brightness settings in HTC Sendse. I'm running a rooted HTC Desire with Android 2.2 (Modaco) but I can't see that the brightness get any lower with AdjBrightness than with default settings in Sense. I have given AdjBrightness root access as well. Have I missunderstood what the application actually does, can't the brightness not go below the lowest value you can set in the settings in HTC Sense? Cheers!

You can disable "Automatic brightness" in system settings and try again. I use HTC Sense too and it works.
updated to v1.2.7.3, support to turn off amber light. fixed fc issue sometimes after turn on screen.
Awesome. I've always wanted to go lower brightness than what Android's minimum was. This will be great for reading at night.
good app!!! thanks!!!
Hi. New member to the forum.
I have a rooted Backflip (US AT&T) and previously installed adjBrightness. It worked fine the last time I used it before today. However, for whatever reason, today it throws force close errors.
As I recall, the only thing I did to my phone was delete some AT&T crapware (the radio and music apps).
Any ideas?
Thanks, mojohn

Hi, could you tell me when the force close occurred? When starting the AdjBrightness application, or after clicked a button, or after turn on the screen?
Nice app. Just need some sort of homescreen widget & a new icon, it's hideous.

I once made a version to support galaxy s, it can adjust the brightness, but people reported they could not turn on the screen afterwards.
Sorry, I am afraid it won't be fixed until I can access a galaxy s device.
What files do i need to adjust to make my phone brighter when using auto brightness my phone is way too dim.
It seems like the max level of auto brightness is whatever the slider was set at before choosing "auto".
Try turning off auto, running the slide to where you want it and then turning auto brightness back on.

As far as I know, brightness levels are controlled by kernel, not ROM. So if u like the ROM, try changing the kernel.

Try gingerbeast 2.1.1 or Android Revolution 5.1.6. I used both, and both are good.
OP, if you're going to be trying out different ROMs be sure to check out CyanogenMod. It has a ton of tweakable auto brightness settings that simply don't exist in most ROMs. Among the many settings, you can dial in the exact screen brightness you want for a given ambient light level. Once you get the settings to your liking, there will be very few (if any) situations where you'll need to manually adjust the brightness; it will be done automatically the way you want instead of the way the ROM developer likes it.

Every keyboard that have tried specifically thumb keyboard for tablet my favorite, swiftkey3 tablet, and several others. All function fine but no longer provide haptic or sound feedback using
Raymans Jelly Bean AOSP ROM 6.0.0. Otherwise the Rom seems great so far. Also all the keyboards I have tried have been upgraded to jelly bean compatibility.
One other thing volume does not seem to be hardly as loud as with ICS.
Any thoughts?
Also noticed I get no notification sound when I get gmail.

I'm not sure Baltic feedback was ever an option on the tablet.. I dont think there is vibration on the tablet.. about sound go to settings n enable it.. Ipit was working on mine before I disabled it........ yes volume is low... you can improve earphone/headphone volume by installing voodoo compatible kernel and then install voodoo from market...

Regarding the low volume you might want to try one of these fixes.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841851
I haven't tried them myself but feedback in the thread looks promising.
I am loving the looks, I mean the Whitish themes everywhere, that's what I wanted for so long. Just some screenshots in case one want to look how some sections look, for fun, that's all. I am stating some of my views on it too, please share yours too.
However not everything is great, I don't like how they have ruled out the scaling on the options, you might encounter one or two mi****s every now and then. I mean when you tap on option of some app, the OK, Discard etc. options have no box outlining those options, so you don't know where the scaling finishes. They shouldn't have done that. Tapping with fingers (which is and will be mostly done) can't always be precise. I have already miss tapped in some places!
I also don't like how they changed the notification clock font size, the AM/PM font is bigger than the clock itself, weird. The lockscreen clock has also been redone, it now has a slimmer font that KitKat, which I am not a fan of.
And I don't know whether this is a placebo effect or not, but am I the only one who is feeling that the in call loudness (volume) is a little softer than KitKat? Don't know, can't be sure.
The Dialler app now goes full screen, I mean edge to edge, simple change yet looks much much better
The Multi-Window mode doesn't have any small U shaped notification any more when enabled at the side of the screen, you just long press the back button to enable or disable it.
The lock screen notifications are directly tap-able and expandable, instead of dragging down and then tapping it to expand it from KitKat.
I guess you guys can use this topic to report bugs, whichever you have found. If this topic seems like a duplicate then remove it immediately.
Have fun.
PS: One more thing, I flashed the Polish version of the ROM on my Arab N9005, 32 GB. I tried to flash the German ROM first, because it had multi CSC but it failed to flash, so keep that in mind, I mean I think the German ROM is meant for 16 GB variants only.

There is no 16GB Note 3 variant outside Asia... I recall there being an issue with the German rom when flashing over to another back when 4.4 came out. You needed the PIT file to sucessfully flash from the German rom to another. This could be related.

From Developer menu you can invert colors, but that's ... all colors. At least you get rid of white.
I noticed a bug: turning the screen on isn't smooth, it looks like a two step process light up.
A missing "feature": hovering your finger over the lockscreen no longer produces an effect.

And this is why I don't plan on upgrading before at least xposed works perfectly and there is a way to force a black theme onto everything.
Okay after playing with the release for couple of hours I am really not liking it any more (except the colour part). I mean as usual with Samsung, they hurried up and released an unfinished ROM IMHO.
First and the most annoying thing I am noticing that the WiFi password (WPA) is reset every time when I toggle Flight mode back and forth. This is extremely annoying and I am sure there's a way around it, or am I wrong?
- Never mind, it's solved now.
Secondly, where is the Mute/Silent option? I mean it's either Ringer mode or Vibrate mode, but there's no Silent/Mute mode!
Thirdly, the upcoming alarm time doesn't show up on Lock Screen! What the heck?
If someone can tell me how to get rid of the above please tell me, I am mainly annoyed by the first problem though, the WiFi password reset problem.
I've not heard the password issue before. Are you sure it's not just a bug?
The silent mode is split.
You have one toggle that decides how you are notified. (the old sound toggle) Sets to either sound or vibrate.
And another toggle that decides what you're notified about. (Looks like an entry forbidden sign). All, Priority or None. This is where you set Silent mode.
If you set this to priority, you can decide which apps notify you. (settings > sound and notification) Call, text, etc.
If you set it to None, you're not notified with sound or vibration. The notification still shows up on the screen.
Be careful, as this will also silence alarms!
I would suggest priority mode and simply disabling everything in its settings except alarms.
The alarm on the lockscreen, nope. They removed it. Fortunately we can always use GO locker.

I believe the WiFi passwords not saving issue can be solved by editing build.prop (that is how I fixed it on the leaked version, haven't updated myself yet)
Look for ro.securestorage.support and change it from true to false. I tripped the KNOX flag long time ago (doesn't change my warranty) and I haven't noticed any misbehaviours.

Yes, it was a bug, I mean it was a problem because my bootloader wasn't updated. Reflashed the ROM, all is okay now.

Yes, was playing with that Interruptions option and figured that, but still that's a weird way. Don't know why Google decided to ditch the Silent mode, well at least Samsung could have kept that.
Go Locker? Well I tried a lot of third party lockers last week, didn't like any of them. I guess I will have to find a different alarm clock app which could give me an option to show the upcoming alarm time on lock screen, it's such a nifty feature to have. There's a module in Xposed which shows the actual alarm time in status bar (instead of that damn alarm icon) but well Xposed is not yet ready for TouchWiz ROMs, but when it becomes okay I will simply install that module. In the meantime I will have to look for a alarm app, that's all.

Yep mate, just saw that. Is it working okay with TW Lollipop now, I mean no more boot loop? Don't really want to try, in case bootloop happens I will have to redo all those formats and all, which I simply hate.
The only Xposed module I badly need is MinMin Gurad, can't stand ads, and AdAway is, well, complicated.
Hi guys. Quick Control Panel looked pretty dead for a while - and for me too...until lately. The truth is - now I'm upgrading it, and I need your help to test the latest changes.
Well - here is the alpha version of the app. It should now work on Lollipop and Marshmallow, though I still need to add runtime permissions for Marshmallow.

I realise now that I had to completely uninstall the previous version that I had running. Once I'd done that it installed without any problems. Only thing I've noticed is that the colour of the toggle buttons don't change when I set the colour in the settings.
