have you made any backup before formatting your system?
If you have made a Nandroid Backup, then its easy to recover the ROM. But if you haven't made, then Mount USB storage in CWM recovery, and connect your phone to computer via USB cable. Then transfer the ROM zip file to SD card. And then you are able to flash the ROM. Be sure to wipe data/cache/dalvik-cache/battery stats.

You were using a Custom ROM before aren't you? If yes, then probably you should know which ROM you used before.
Anyways you can search in the device-specific forum over here :

Interestingly enough, I was working on the stock ROM that the phone was on.It's a new device I was using. And I just got introduced to the ClockWorkMod thingy, which was just a zip file that I chose thru the Reboot Recovery Screen. I was just mucking around with the options on the CWM, when I unwittingly chose to Format System (No goddamn idea why !!!! )
But I will search for a suitable ROM. Will revert back in case of any issues....THNX !!!

CM stores dalvik cache for all system apps in /cache/dalvik-cache instead of /data/dalvik-cache.
Flash mounts2sd.zip from this thread (the first one).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1932874
After rebooting, open terminal emulator and type

m2sd cmdalvik enable
m2sd rmount enable
m2sd apps disable
Now reboot and it'll be moved

if you want to move dalvik cache for more internal space then i dont recommend you on doing that..it slows the phone doen (unless you have class 6/10 memory card)..i suggest you use int2xt+ ...for me its the best out there!!

I'll pm you!
or i will just put it here only..
so basically what it does is that it mounts /sd-ext to /data and leaves application data in internal storage for speed..
im assuming you already know about ext partition and you have partitioned your sd card!! (if you haven't then tell me)
if you want to implement int2ext+ in a rom then download the script from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
extract it..now download the zip of rom you want to use and make a copy of it somwhere else in your hard disk and open it through winrar..remember do not extract it..navigate to /system/etc/int.d in winrar only and delete all everything in the folder and drag and drop the file you extracted from int2xt+ zip..it will do some working and when its finished just close it...flash this modified zip..and you will see internal memory increased in storage (150mb+the size of ext partition u have made)
EDIT:
It may happen that your rom doesn't boot ..so you make another copy of the original rom and repeat the whole procedure except that dont delete anything in init.d folder..
for example i deleted all files from init.d in cm9.1 build#9 (i dont know what will happen if i dont) and it works..i remember that i deleted all files in evervolv but it didnt boot so i copied without deleting and it booted perfectly!!
i m switch to cm9 build8 rom from jaggy,,,so need sum info.
>use tethering pc to mobile...so i can use my pc internet in my mobile???where is this option??
>i read sumwhere that titanium bckup must be avoided ...so wt i use now for my bckp and restore???
>cant i add my facebook birthday's in my phone calendar,as in option in sense 3.5???

tnx a lot from vshl2995 ! your method works perfectly  i'm very happy speed and performance is really good :good::good:
just 1 Q , can you tell me if i want use another sd card ,for example 16GB sd card (i'm using 8GB sd card now) how can i do that ???

Oh switching sd cards can be pain in the ass.. Anyway make a partition on ur new sd card (same partition u made on ur old card) make a nandroid backup with your old sd card inserted in mobile.. This makes backup of your sd-ext partition (of course ).. Now copy the whole folder (clockworkmod folder if u are using Cwm and TWRP folder if u are using touch recovery) to your new sd card using your pc or lappy.. Be sure that your phone is switched off or in recovery mode while you are switching cards.. Now when you have copied the backup(s) to your new sd card, insert it in your phone and restore sd-ext part only.. If that doesn't work then full wipe your phone and do a full restore!! Rest of the things in your memory card you will have to copy manually through pc or you can dump your data in cloud and download when new sd card inserted..!

2.any backup u make from gingerbread roms will be useless.. FCs will occur due to compatibility problems.. You will have to install all apps again
3.for contact syncing fb apps itself supports it.. But I use fb contact sync app for it.. It's awesome if you want their pics to be shown in conyacts.. If you want to sync birthdays you can add your fb calender to Google calendar (if you don’t know how to do dat tell me) your Google calendar is automatically synced with ics stock calendar.
4. Now that's atrange.. Never happened with me...

About
This is the patched version of my CWM 6.0.3.2 to run on Bricked Data Partition Devices . It recognize the ext4 partition mmcblk1p2 on external as data partiton so wipe data and mount data are now fully functional without any errors . I used the similar partition table on CM10 Patch by ivendor so If you have done the preparation ( making a 1.5 GB mmcblk1p2 on external sd as ext4 ) you only need to install recovery and if not you must create the partition on external sd . This version is really stable and perfect for daily usage .

This is great stuff. Nice job man. I was really annoyed because i had to put my sdcard onto reader and then wipe with partition manager every time I wanted to reinstall the ROM
If anyone test this, post here.
I have only one minor advice, I think you should make .zip , .tar and just put links- For Odin: <link> , For flashing .zip: <link> because more thngs people have to do, more room for mistakes, it is easier for you to do it once.
Anyway great job.

Thanks ... I hope it solve your problems
I used internet cafe to upload the *.IMG file and ATM I have no good internet connection to re upload ... There are 2 chooses :
1- You should wait til I get a good net and upload zip version
2- You should do the steps and make zip ( choose base zip from my cwm 6.0.3.0 non bricked devices version ) and tar file then upload them ... I put in first post with full credits
there are few risk of bricked or ... if you do currectly risk is 0%
also I thing recovery should work fine because I got a really few errors so I must be really stable ! as stable as my previous cwm 6.0.3.0.

I can patch all custom kernels and ROMs to support eMMC bricked devices but I need some time because I am on exams
I didn't understand fully how this works? Do I need external card or this can be done with sdcard?
Is this mean that ROM needs to be installed on external card? What about internal memory? Can this be fixed, or it is lost forever?

hope you understand it:
Some users have already broken eMMC.
The problem is the data partition.
to get the roms working, one idea is to make a new data partition on the ext. sd. To be usable the roms need to be patched(the patch says to the rom / kernel that it has to look on ext. sd partition 2 for the data partition.
The next problem would be that a 'wipe data' in recovery or a flash would do something on the bricked data part. in internal sd. that wouldn't change anything(wipe data-after that no data is wiped).
This recovery solves the last mentioned problem
to your questions:
1) this is not a question
2) you need ext. card
3) no. (correct me if i'm wrong)
4) no question.
5) only one partition(data) of the int. card is lost forever
:victory:

I found this kinda funny.
Anyway, yes, we install ROM on the internal memory (/system and /cache partitions are working normally) but /data is on external SD card.
With 'normal' CWM trying to wipe /data throws some errors (khm....it is bricked) but with this one it is supposed to wipe /data on external, so I dont need to wipe it manually from my PC with partition manager (at least it should do that, havent tested yet) ...

This will work on ALL ROMS .. only you need to have an EXT4 data partition on extsd at mmcblk1p2
...........

mmcblk1p2 is a partition on the extSD card, you have to create with a partitioning tool, it must be ext4, and you need a kernel to boot the rom from extSD, Ivendor provided a patch for his CM10 to work with data partition on extSD, refer to his thread, in the op he explained how to use it

Hope you understand this :
You must make a second partition on your external sd with ext4 format and at least 1.5GB size . you can use any partition tool ! then install this recovery , you can wipe data or fix permissions or mount data without any errors
Thanks
I have a friend with this problem, we installed the recovery and made the ext4 partition on sd but when installing a rom does not pass the logo.
What rom and kernel install? some patch?

i got back my imei fixed through a local store. i tried everything which didn't work at that moment. now i have my imei and i used mtk droid tools to take a backup this time and tried the whole process again. i used sp flash tools and the zip method for increasing internal memory for installing color os rom. but it didn't work again.
the current status of my phone is that i am using stock rom which is rooted but all i wanted to ask is that did i mess up with my internal sd card which is actually not allowing me to install color os rom? or is it something else? because i did each and every step correctly each time.

I followed each step correctly..
i used 880mb partition file for that i did wipe data/factory reset>wipe cache>wipe system> wipe dalvik cache and then installed 880mb.zip
as memntioned in that thread i installed the rom zip directly after that and rebbot system. i was supposed to get the bootloop at first which i got and then i did wipe data/factory reset>wipe cache>wipe system> wipe dalvik cache again and installed rom again. but i am stuck in bootloop.
i was reading the reviews in color os thread and it was mentioned to unmount cache and sytem before flashing i did that too but no luck.
so please let me know if i did anything wrong because thiis is all i have been trying.

abhimanyu bajaj said:
see.. what your computer labeled as internal SD .... titanium labeled as ext. sd okay? see. both have the same memory..
the sd in titanium backup is your sd card
the internal memory is the app memory...
try installing color os.... follow instructions..i should install.. otherwise ask the dev. in the rom forum

Figured out internal Sd card mount error clear solution.
Here's what i think you have done
You did a system partition with sptool and also tried zip like 507mb to 1gb or in between .
I had the same problem of lost internal sd card in file manager.
If you want it back or increase system partition try factory mode to format unmount error of internal sd card.
follow these steps.
1) take or keep a backup in sd card.
2) go into cwm recovery mode and flash 507mb partition zip or 1gb partition zip(507mb for undo partition and 1gb for partition)
3)To solve mount issue without external sd card go to factory mode after the flash.
select "Full test" option in it select memory it'll show 3 options
1 Format ext...
2 test pass
3 test fail
And it shows the space in yellow text in two sd card as 0 mb or any . Select the first option which will increase the space of internal sd.
After you'll just need to update or restore backup to successfully fix mount error for internal sd card either for partition or undo partition.
This worked for me when i just tried various format option to format the partition error.
I've modified EBR1 & EBR2 to increase the partition size as follows--
/system = 1 gb
/cache = 200 mb
/data = 4 gb
But, i'm unable to flash it, as neither I could create scatter file to flash it with sp flash tool, nor I could make a flashable zip to flash via recovery.
Please, give suggestions, what /system size would be better to suit our development needs.
Also, please tell me how could I create a modified scatter file to flash these EBR files via sp flash tools or please help me, to create a recovery flashable zip file.
Also, I'm trying to increase /recovery partition size.
I'll upload EBR files very soon with above mentioned sizes.
Thank you all, specially Dr. Avi for his roms, and lets be a team to make our Xolo Q3000 much better.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, I've come up with the CWM flashable zip, with the partition size as follows-
/system = 1.5 gb
/cache = 200 mb
/data = 5.0 gb
Download link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9c3NsdJ2PscWVRQTk5adGNLUE0/view?usp=sharing
Mod with 1gb /system, 200mb /cache & 4gb data partition:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9c3NsdJ2PscMVowbWJtMVFsMnM/view?usp=sharing
Procedure:
1) Place zip in your sd card, don't keep any data on phone storage.
2) Reboot to recovery(TWRP v2.8.4.0 rev1 recovery is prefered)
3) Back up your current rom to sd card
4) Wipe system, cache, data, dalvik cache, android secure & emmc also.
5) Install downloaded zip file
6) Reboot
It will be a bootloop, don't panic, remove battery to power off, place it back and go to recovery by pressing vol up + power button.
7) Now, you may see some error related to cache/ recovery.....
8) Wipe system, cache, data, dalvik cache, android secure & emmc also. Error will disappear.....
9) Restore your previous rom or flash a new custom rom
x) Reboot
In case if, there is bootloop or any problem, don't panic, go to recovery and again format /system, /data, /cache and flash custom rom.
Now, we don't have to think of /system partition size to port ROMs.
It's an outcome of lot of hardwork, so please be gentle, even if you face any problem while re-partitioning & I'm here to see u, whatever ur problem is.......................
Special thanx to:
Keanu_ritz & Tirta.agung for their guide,
Digyvijaykumar123 for CWM flashable zip &
Dr. Avi for his co-operation & appreciation.
If you appreciate my work, just press thanks button.
Flash at ur own risk, I'll not be responsible for bricked devices............................

Very good initiative.
Thanks.
1 gb system partition is more than enough for development.
u can get recovery flashble zip from this link. just replace EBR files.
U dont need separate scatter file for flashing for the first time.
After flashing u need to create new scatter file using mtkdroid tools which has to be used for further flashing.
Also this link is useful.

I've already mentioned, it would be a boot loop, but you don't have to worry.
read the procedure carefully and follow the steps, you will get the partitions same as in screenshots.

Ohhh
great.
I already tried.
If u know any method please share.
Following dont work-
changing scatter address (rom get flashed but it wont boot in recovery if its more than 6mb)
changing mbr file ( i already tried)
My conclusion - its related to uboot.bin which is device specific.:good:
Best luck:good::good:

I think we hv to calculate, binary values for every partition after, if recovery partition is changed and scatter file should be corrected accordingly......
already partioned
I have already partioned my apps storage by some other mean....so do i need to partioned by this method and will this help me some or the other mean..
