Screen Flickering due to overlay on CM10.1 - HTC Sensation

Hi All,
my screen got messed up somehow.
I am on CM10.1 latest build.
I can see a black transparent box on the screen saying "overlay#1 : 720x480 160dpi"
I searched and found that there is an option on developers option>> "disable hardware overlays"
But i am not able to do anything on this screen...
When i touch somewhere something else is opened. I tired reflashing the ROM without wipe. But it did not help. I don't want to loose my data.
Please help..

Enter to safemode and change the settings.
Power on the device and right after press and hold volume up and down buttons until the OS is booted. Kindly note, your widget settings may get reset (mostly in 3rd part launchers) but you can restore them.

How de o remove the camera widget from lockscreen? I tried to pull it like other widgets but couldnt.

[REQ] is there a way to restore HTC sense to its original settings?

Hi,
Ive installed a number of 'Touch X' files etc etc to my Leo and its messed up my front page on HTC sense, i cant access the menu, change any quicklinks and the callender is slightly hiding the weather. I've tried uninstalling the files but a lot of them say 'cannot uninstall' or 'not uninstalled completely' etc.
Is there a way to restore HTC Sense to how it was originally?n Thanks in advance!
Try disabling Touch Sense in the Today settings, and try uninstalling then.
There are some files you can delete as well which remove the configuration, but without taking the TouchX files out first, it probably won't work.
thank you, il give that a go
it still gives the message that the file "was not completely removed"
any other suggestions?
check this thread for the original manila files as backup (also X Touch):

sure man
there is a way to hard restart your phone which delete ALL personal data and return your phone in factory defaults conditions
check here xda-developers > Leo, HTC HD2 > HD2 General
at the first Post [REF] *Leo Hints & Tips* - Things you may not have known. Updated 7th January.
look for the tip Number 15
15. How to Hard Reset your Phone
To hard reset your phone which means to delete ALL personal data and settings and have the phone in factory default conditions as if you turned on the phone for the first time after purchasing, press the following buttons:
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer defaults, or press other keys to cancel."
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
You can also use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings.
2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.
3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.

Lockscreen is gone

Hi guys.
After having installed the removal of the lockscreen and uninstalled this on again i cannot find a way to lock my mobile. I tried the editing of H_x_x something, but this does not work. How to get it back to lockmode?
Can i add some app that can lock it?
I hope this is not somewhere else on the forum, i searched for it, but havent found anything. Im annoyed of my mobile calling random people from time to time...
Thanks
i got same prob loose my lock screen after install a "action 18" cab.
Unistalled and the lockscreen was hide???
Is there a locksreen Cab?
No one?, There must be a solution to this problem
soultion
try press on the "lock" button in the start window.
if its dosent work try to change the picture of the lock screen
if the solution above doesn't work try this:
1) Go to HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd and change DeviceLockWhenSuspend to 1
2) Soft reset
3) Still no lockscreen? Try the solution above again

I will try that, but since it is already on 1, i guess it is pointless.
I was wondering whether there has been made an "app" that could tap to lock your device.?

I have had this previously. Set it to 0, soft reset, set it back to 1 then soft reset again. It should now work.
I had this problem. Keep your finger on the power button until you are asked whether to lock, or shut down, select lock. After that your lock screen should work again.

home screen.
When I hold the icon appears able to move, but just as it freezes. It is interesting that the icons can be placed on display, but they can not move. Otherwise, everything works smoothly.
Today I re-installed the RUU (RUU_Pyramid_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.28.707.2_Radio_10.43.9007.00P_10.11.9007.19_M_release_193173_signed), but still without success. I think it's a software bug ..
That's just weird. Can you add shortcuts through long-pressing, or just through the Personalize menu? Does long pressing work anywhere else?
Maybe try downloading another launcher app and see if you can add/remove widgets and shortcuts there, just to try to narrow it down.

[Q] CM10 missing menu bar/button?

I have been using the latest CM10 stable build (cm-10.0.0-ville.zip) for a while now, and it's all been great. But I never noticed until now, in some applications there's no way of getting into the settings of these applications as there's no menu button showing.
For example, WhatsApp Messenger should have some 3-dot-menu-button-overlay but it's not showing anywhere. Is this a known issue for the latest CM10 build, or is it just me being stupid?
I already enabled this, and rebooted: Settings > System > Hardwarebuttons > Show 3-dots menu button in apps
You should be able to enable the recent apps button to open menu in system settings...

I know I should, but how is this achieved other than enabling the 3-dotted menu-bar button?

Nah I don't think long pressing home will work... If you go to phone settings look for an option like enable custom action. It will be inside a different option .that's not exactly what it says but similar... And you will be able to enable long press actions on your keys..

It does on Dark Jelly out-of-the-box.
