[HELP] Dark MMS theme apk for CM9 - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

CM7 used to have this feature. to change the light theme of mms to dark theme..
currently in CM9 I cant find the option to change the current theme to dark.
so what I did.. I grabbed a copy of mms.apk from the CM9 Rom and decompiled it.
now the hard part is where to look for the colors to change the the current background to black.
or any guides I can use to modify it?
Why black?
-The letters seem crispier at dark background. and it doesnt hurt my eyes at dark rooms.

[MM Theme] The Blue Guy V2 (Oct 19)

Blue Theme designed from/for THE NEW GUY v4.
THE BLUE GUY!
THE BLUEGUY v2
I made The New Guy v4 my daily driver, so i decided to theme it to MY liking, and i LIKE BLUE!
I took the original theme format Credit to the original themers!(though i dont know who they are) moddified it and added some of my own tweeks.
Changes include:
Blue Icons on Rosie dock
Blue Circle battery
Blue Signal Bars
Blue accents to status icons (will be editing more icons soon)
BLUE frame when moving icons on homescreens!!
All framework highlights BLUE (removed all green)
Removed GPS location icon (the crosshairs)
Themed HTC CLOCK Widget
Themed HTC Calendar Widget
Themed HTC Settings Widgets (hotspot , wifi, bluetooth, etc)
Themed MARKET APP(Vending.apk)
Themed GMAIL.apk
Themed stock MMS.apk
Themed Settings.apk
(I attempted to remove/replace all Green from regularly seen/used Apps)
SEE SCREEN SHOTS BELOW...
Its come to my attention that the clockwidget theme may not apply.. please reboot, then reapply the individual item if that happens. Should fix it!
UPDATE!!!
V2 is up, Thanx to Hatman... Ive added several images to the theme, aswell as HTCCamera.apk. Ive also fixed a few items that i noticed. More to come...

It doesn't lose the window transitions
but it did mess up my htcclockwidget.apk
Otherwise a great theme

that looks pretty awesome. good freakin job!
tonight ill add it to the thread for sure.
When u applied this, did u apply it after his theme that was included in the rom or did u avoid that completely
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
i havent flashed it yet but i know that with these new evo based framework roms, any little modd could mess up the animation. wich is cool if you disable it anyway, but i think that's one of the cool featers of these "evo" roms.
the theme looks sick thow... you got down on this!!!!

I did not apply any themes prior to this... Im not sure if that will affect anything, other than there may be changes in those themes that are still there, if I didnt edit them myself.
As far as the clock widget... I had to reapply it after a reboot. Im not sure why it acts this way. After the second time it worked fine... let me know it its still fuct... ill see if i can figure out why its being stubborn

New Blue Icons
Drukan, So I added some new icons to your MM themes. Check them out. I got them from Riptide9 He did a EVO Theme. Your png files are included with the exception of the framework-res file.
Download ---->> http://bit.ly/NewGuyBlueFiles
Blue Lock Screen
So I just themed the generic lock screens blue Hope you enjoy. It is the same color that you used for your themes Drukan. BTW you are the reason that I am using this ROM. I LOVE blue and do not like red. This Theme is great!!!! So is the ROM. I cannot wait until he releases the 5 wide app drawer.

You use Metamorph. Put the zip file in the AndroidTheme directory on your SDCard and then launch MM and select extract new theme. After it is extracted then select pick exsisting theme. It will only work on the OP. The ones that I posted with the exception of the clock will not work as I just posted the extra png files that I added.
FYI, im gonna get into a few more apks and make some more changes.
Ive noticed a few things here n there that could use a lil BLUE!

[Theme][MIUI] Black'Ups Darkness HD Theme[Beta] Updated For 11.5 build

I take no credit for creating this theme this is a port of the Darkness HD theme by Black'Up. I just used the template provided by blackup and icons made by other users to port the theme. I have tried to make custom icons for most of the apps that I use.
Features:
custom icons (thanks to black'up and macthemes community)
custom widget box skin and folder skin (thanks to newone from purple kush theme)
bounce animation(thanks aamikam and magnus for posting)
carousel animation for switching between tasks(taken from Multitasking pro app by Royerd) - Works well with itchingthumb
custom wallpaper (taken from insetHD theme on the iphone but modified to have android instead of apple)-u might have to add the wallpaper urself
includes auto brightness fix (from MIUI thread)
this is my first theme and i just figured out how to make it a flashable zip. I know it flashed fine for me so it should work.
also if there are icons you would like to see customized for this let me know.
Note this is based on MIUI 10.29 so i dont know how it will work for previous versions
Screen shots are attached

It looks really nice.
Pretty badass looking. Nice work!
AwesomeZ!!!
A few questions.
Did you theme highlight colors? IE not android orange anymore for? I think all green would look great.
Also does this theme put a black backround around newly installed apps? I thought I saw this feature in purple.
Anyways, thanks for this theme. I will be flashing later today!!

[Q] [HELP] Themes on my Droid X

It seems whenever I apply a theme, the circular (or regular lock) bar will not change from the color green, nor will the "Phone" icons change, or will the color of the call button on phone change from green. Any reason these things won't change? Im currently running RubiX 1.9.7 Focused with the Black Juice True Blue theme. See pictures.
First time poster, so I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.
i51.tinypic.com/1zcfpmp.png Lockscreen stays green.
i55.tinypic.com/28je5tx.png Phone numbers don't change, call buttons stays green.
Other question, how do you embed a link into words here?

if you went from one theme to the next more or less themeing over each other some aspects of the old theme may still be seen in the new,,,,sometimes trails can be left behind,so the way i prevent this is right after i flash a rom and know i want to use it and theme it prior to flashing any themes i make a backup of that rom so when i want to use a new theme i restore my clean rom backup and install my new theme,,,this clean rom backup also comes in handy if things dont go well with the theme you installed and need a way out without having to reflash the whole rom, just do a simple restore,,,,sorry to babble and hope this helps
No thats not it, for some reason, those things will not change with any theme I apply.

What color do you want them to be? I just pulled out the framework, and the images haven't been themed, that is why they are still showing up green. I can try and re-color them if you want.
I'd like them to be the same blue color as
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...uice-ginger-themes-rubix-focused-1-9-7-a.html
the true blue theme, which is a few posts down, it's what im using currently.
Also sorry for the late reply, been a busy few days.

[Q] A noob developer question ?

I just decompiled the lg settings app from v28b.
I want to change it's background from white to black and naturally the fonts from black to white.
How can achieve this ? Where to look for them ? In html codes somewhere in there , or is there a .png like the rest of the icons?
Thanks in advance.

I hope that this can be done the help of our devs. The white background that LG forced on ICS goes against their previous dark color scheme in GB and Froyo and against the dark scheme of the 'clear' Google ICS and JB. And the white gets really annoying to the eye, because most of the apps and ICS launchers use the default black scheme.
In Optimus 2X ICS some have already changed it to dark like the one here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122413
I IMed the guy who did that and he told me that perhaps the only thing that could be working from his files is the theme for the launcher. But the settings and the rest of the stock apps won't work.
In order to modify everything to dark theme, we need to get some developer to modify the framework and lge-res.apk and a couple of other apks like the LGphone.apk, the LGcontacts.apk and some more.
I hope that if some dev is reading this, he could modify the above apks so we can change the color to black.

I just hate the lg's themes. They are horrible man.
Google is so much better at this , why screw up beautiful work ?
I'm using third party sucky apps just to get the jelly bean feeling.
It's stupid.
Anyway , at least it drove me to learn a little...
Now i know how to decompile , edit and recompile apks.
We already have a theme for that ,, but for ICS Ported .

Thanks for the link. Do you think that this theme could work on the v28b/v30b ICS as well?

Any themes out there that has transparent notification backgrounds?

Was trying to look for a theme that has a transparent background for notifications and toggles.. trying to find something with no root envolved.

I think it can happen, just make a theme that has transparent values for notification backgrounds (if alpha values are valid on it) , but it will look weird and a lot of ghosting can occur.
The thing is themes like that can never have theme store release. (coz official theme editor won't allow that kind of modification or alpha editing on notif. bg.)
I really miss the 'old school' themes that were black and blue with glass or transparency effects, nowadays most themes seem to be bright whites or pastel colours or dull material themes hmm

Yeah, true. Me and my team developing themes for a long time we can do 95% full themed on any devices with themestore incl notifications, icons..email, themestore, live lockscreen ect. STE (Samsung theme editor ) that's fun for the started themer and it's regular Samsung theme store stuff... Most codes u have to added manually also bg, png, 9-patch and so on...
It's take many hours...[emoji1]
