Actually, hacking into protected wifi for the purpose of using the wifi is not a crime at all. Hacking into protected wifi for the purpose of accessing the computers connected to that wifi is a crime.

Defination of wifi hacking I guess will vary as per country mate
Here i found a source indicating that using other's WiFi network for personal use is also considered as hacking which seems logical too..

Well, that also defines "sniffing" as a crime. In that case, I don't think this thread is illegal. Droidsheep and Dsploit have had threads on this forum for A VERY long time.

HAHAHHA, hacking is not permitted on XDA??? XDA is all about hacking! How about you scroll down and check out the main forum titles.
NFC Hacking
Windows 8 Development and Hacking
Hardware Hacking..just to name a few.
Please show the rule where it says not to discuss hacking.

And like I said, there are threads dedicated to sniffing and hacking apps. Sniffing apps are used to intercept packets giving you access to email accounts, facebook and many other things. Those are much worse than hacking a wifi password. So, in using my common sense and the fact that if you do a search on the subject, there are numerous threads on the topic (not one has been locked), I come to the conclusion that this thread is just fine.

I would suggest you review the forum rules and the GPL before questioning the actions of XDA moderators. They do what they do for reasons. This is not a free software hub. This is a development hub and certain rules do apply.

Is that so? Sorry if whimsical things such as the GPL and the fairly rational rules and standards of XDA get in your way of just using any software you feel like, any way you feel like. Nobody made you become a member. In fact, if you think the GPL is not worth abiding by or being respected, you should just trade in your Android device and get a BlackBerry. Am I really the only one that thinks the GPL and XDA rules make some sense?

Well hello there, new user who rushed into not only using the xda forums, but also downloading the XDA app and posting without reading the rules!
I believe you are going to be extremely happy with what I have to offer. You see, I am about to give you the answer to the question of life, the universe and everything. It's 42!
But that's not all. I'm also giving you something (almost) just as important, the link to the rules of these forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=530
However, since you apparently suffer from a certain lack of vision and/or understanding (considering that you've already read and agreed to these rules), I'm going to take one extra step and actually quote the part that interests us:
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

And obviously (this is more about common sense than rules): post in the correct section.

This type of behavior is frowned upon here at XDA. Bumping your thread every few minutes/hours is not going to get the positive results that you expect. Some things take time around here. That's just the way it is. Exercise some patience
On a side note, we don't support or condone "cracking" as you refer to it in your OP. That would be another reason why you didn't get an answer.
I am closing this thread. This sort of behavior is neither mature norr is it tolerated on these forums. If someone decides they have an answer they can PM it to you.
