This type of behavior is frowned upon here at XDA. Bumping your thread every few minutes/hours is not going to get the positive results that you expect. Some things take time around here. That's just the way it is. Exercise some patience
On a side note, we don't support or condone "cracking" as you refer to it in your OP. That would be another reason why you didn't get an answer.

I am closing this thread. This sort of behavior is neither mature norr is it tolerated on these forums. If someone decides they have an answer they can PM it to you.

XDA App

Anyone experiencing problems with xda?
For some reason my post are double posting and pages aren't loading properly. Just wondering if anyone else is having these issues?
Yes I did uninstall and reinstall the app and my connection is fine.

Yep going to tapatalk again. This is just ridiculous

Mine is working just fine. Although, I open the app from a shortcut I made to the SR forums.

I have a problem with not being able to open notifications. When I receive a notification, I drop down the notification bar and tap the icon. XDA starts to open then hangs, never opens. I am on Sky Ice, it has been that way through several updates, I have never been able yo open an XDA notification.

Hey, while we're at it, how 'bout someone make a new icon for the app that doesn't suck. (I would, but I'm not vs developer and don't know how.)

I'm not a dev either but think you might be able to unzip the APK on your computer, replace the icon.png, rezip. then replace apk to phone.

same problem since day 1. i don't know when the last update was but definitely not working for me. Search function is also non-existent.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Oh yea, the search is horrible. Doesn't even give you the option to search within the thread or for a thread in the section.
That's why there are double post. People search and can't find it, so they post it again and then we have members getting angry about not searching and double posting.
The search, searches the entire site. I don't have time to scroll through 100 threads to find the 1 for our phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Yeah you should be able to search within a device's forum and also within a thread itself that way rom q&a's not stated in op's don't have to be reasked all the time.

Yeah, I have been wanting to ask a question about XDA's notifications, and search on the app was not helpful. I was concerned about making a new thread, then somebody getting down on me for making a duplicate thread.
I could already see the comments, "you should search before you post" "I will not help, because you are lazy" So it goes not getting the help, we request.
Not to mention names but it's the same few members who troll the forms and flame or report everything.
I honestly think that until the search engine for this app is fix that members who flaming for duplicate threads should be ban for a 12 hours. If you think about it, that flame is going to make the thread unless because it will just be a battle between the op and the flameer. Instead of helping out the op as a community or posting the link to the original thread.

some of us actually like using our xda app (search included). paid for it so most people expect it to work. personally, after realizing that the app's search is not working, i almost always try to log in and use xda and google search before asking here.
there is no need to be defensive or sarcastic here. if you feel the need to report then do as you wish but don't expect everyone to like what you are doing. some people are honestly just clueless regarding the search engine.

You're just a big child. You see a post you don't like and cry to your dad (insert name of favorite mod here) and get it shut down. Some new member started a thread and you reported AND flamed him/her. Instead of trying to be a tyrant you should be pointing new members in the right direction. And if someone's phone is not working, you should actually try to help before crying to the mods. You hold the exact same amount of power as any other member. Having more posts or thanks doesn't change the fact that nobody should have to take crap from someone on the same level as them.

And people come here for broken phone fixes because some members actually do help or point in the right direction. If someone's phone isn't working right for whatever reason, don't turn them away just because there's already some large thread on something remotely similar to their problem. Those types of threads don't get users as much help (especially if it's an urgent issue) as a single thread.
It's like if someone was lost on the way driving to Tampa and they asked you for help, and you told them they were noobs for not knowing every detail about the trip before they went on it. And you reported them to have their car towed because they didn't get help from a group talking about how to get to places that are kind of near Tampa.

A minimum 10 posts is needed for the posting restrictions to get removed. And it takes some time for the Server to get refreshed of your Profile info. As you've 12 posts by now, the next time you log on to XDA, these restrictions will likely be removed.
Thanks a lot for the explanation m8.

I like to mod my phone play around a little bit and all that. I might be a junior member to actually creating an account, but am no newbie. I have a life outside of it all though. I must say you guys around here are mostly rude and seem that this is your only outlet for power and control. It is the only reason I can come up with as to why a lot of you are total d*cks to people.
Now to be nice and answer the ops question. Yes ioroot 25 is here and although I haven't tried it because I'm waiting for the update with knock code that is supposed to come in April here is the link.. Be sure to thank the developer.

You also have to understand that most of us have been here a longtime. We have seen the same common mistakes time and time again. It is necessary to read the rules of the forum during the sign up period. Which tell you that this is a big no no. Also it also gives you a heads up when you begin to create a thread in this section. To us its kinda a no brainer.
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
Look I get it, the rules are very similar where I normally visit. People over there complain about the same search button, but is it really necessary for someone to be attacked like that of a pack of angry wolves. People don't mean any harm when they ask, and it's better to use your time being nice than rude in my opinion. It took me 20 secs to type a helpful response with a link in it is all I'm trying to get at.
Rules are rules, questions don't go in Dev.
Yes but again mypoint being... how many rude people and elaborate ways does it take to simply remind someone or inform them?

The more the better to get the point across, and no one is being rude, just pointing out the facts. However you sir seem to be a little overly sensitive. So please don't try and be a hero here, you will only loose a fight that has no merit.
Noone is trying to be a hero. No one is trying to win a battle. What's wrong with being cool to people? I think it's hilarious how you think I'm sensitive, I'm just making a point that you obviously have no life outside of your phone and this is your only opportunity in life to flex your nuts. Thankyou for proving my point SIR!!

By being rude and attacking not so savvy people all you do is detour future interested people away from the site. So when you think you're helping you're not.

The question was 'Will towelroot work after latest update?'
Your answer was 'There are issues with towelroot anyway. Root properly. '
And you really dont see why I have a problem with your answer. Not matter how many times you try and post it ,you have not answered the question (Vin4Yak did make a reasonable attempt to answer in that 'it should work'. I can accept that)
Then to take this futher I'm yet to see why Towelroot 'has issues' or 'no longer works properly'. I've headed over to the 3700 post thread about it, and still I'm yet to see anything telling everybody to stay away.
I'm aware my bootloader is still locked and potentially with root I could screw my phone (and due to no unlocked bootloader could be in big trouble), but I'm quite happy being in that position.
If you fancy posting some usefull info rather than direct people elsewhere with vague answers then feel free , otherwise thankyou for your post but it hasnt helped so you might as well not have bothered.

Towelroot doesn't work before the update. It wont work after the update. The guide in General (where all our guides are) that is not 3700 posts long explains why,
Or just try it yourself. The update is 100% irrelevant. It has not patched the exploit, but it is not the exploit that is the problem. Its SuperSU that is the problem, again - which is all explained in the guide, over in general
Right got the thread now. I've posted in there. Thanks

What is with forum culture that makes people against linking to other threads they are discussing.
Just post a ******* link to the thread so every other user that see's your post can easily find what you are talking about rather than searching high and low through the whole forum - i.e. 'over in general', do you mean Nexus 5 General, or XDA General? It's really not hard to just post a LINK. Once I found the 'guide in General' I could find no other info on towelroot - http://puu.sh/aHF5u/524526b849.png
Sorry to be rude, it just really grinds my gears - it's not hard to link something if you know where it is and saves everyone else loads of time.

However, it is widely accepted here that the search function of this site is mediocre at best. Just do everyone a favour and post a link rather than taking the moral high ground.

We usually take a "give a man a fish, he can feed himself for a day. Give a man the means to fish and he can feed himself for a lifetime" approach.
I purposely do NOT give links for things that are sticky threads. If there is a sticky thread in General, "over in General" is a sufficient description to find the information required. If I give every idiot who asks a question a single link, he will not notice all the other glorious sticky threads that we here in this forum put much effort into answering as many questions as we possibly can without devoting our entire existance to repeating the same answers over and over... and over.
We take pride in our stick threads and once someone sees them, a wealth of knowledge unfolds. Knowledge we willingly pass on. If we simply give everyone a link, all we will be doing is linking the same person to different things all the time. We're being helpful without being detrimental to ourselves.

Search is easy to use. Posting a link is as easy as going to general and typing "towelroot" into search. You're ressurecting an old thread. Towelroot is not a favoured solution, so it is no longer stickied.

I don't accept that. I find everything I want in search, if I know the search term to use. Even in Tapatalk. Failing that, google can serch XDA very well too. This is just an excuse. The bigger picture is that the true favour is not posting a link. Heroin addict is in pain, needs a hit. Posting link is buying him the hit. Not posting the link, or better yet, sending him to rehab is the better favour.
You admit there is a high ground then?
For all those who say the search is mediocre - I find it perfectly fine and easy to use, 9/10 times I'll find what I'm looking for if I know it exists. Maybe you're just doing it wrong.

Just want vent

I freaking hate the new android lollipop update. It lags my phone considerably!!! Apps stutter, pause, and crash often. I can't be in a call and open another app at the same time as this will cause my phone to hang up. This is a piece of garbage!!!

Ok
Take a deep breath, backup everything important, hit the factory reset option and let the magic begin(hopefully)
I've clean flashed the factory image since it was available and have no ram/lag/stutter issues whatsoever.
Good luck
This isn't a venting forum. Its a developers forum, by and for developers. The fact that many of the members here are not developers or wannabe developers, doesn't mean this is an everyday support forum. If you want advice, ask a specific question please, otherwise let's keep vents and rants out of it.
This isn't Facebook.

I freaking hate the new android lollipop update. It lags my phone considerably!!! Apps stutter, pause, and crash often. I can't be in a call and open another app at the same time as this will cause my phone to hang up. This is a piece of garbage!!!

what version of google play services are you on? 6.1 or 6.5? A reboot will temporariliy fix your issues for at least a day or two. not too bad of a stop gap solution until there's a permanent fix from google. in the meantime be patient.
Somebody didn't do a fresh install.....

Take a deep breath, backup everything important, hit the factory reset option and let the magic begin(hopefully)
I've clean flashed the factory image since it was available and have no ram/lag/stutter issues whatsoever.
Good luck

What method do you use to backup before a factory reset? adb backup?
I've already done a factory reset. No dice. Reboot does solve my problems for like 2 days.
Only reason I vent here is cuz everyone else I talk to about it don't care. And I'm also hoping that maybe, just maybe someone on here may have a solution.

This isn't a venting forum. Its a developers forum, by and for developers. The fact that many of the members here are not developers or wannabe developers, doesn't mean this is an everyday support forum. If you want advice, ask a specific question please, otherwise let's keep vents and rants out of it.

So what you're saying is unless you're a developer, you don't belong here? And if you have a simple question about android go ask it elsewhere because this is where serious developers work and only serious development questions should be asked here.
So sorry that my one little post caused you so much distraction to take you away from your very important development work. I did only title my post as wanted to vent so you didn't have to open and read it.

Have you flashed the factory images using the flash-all script or did you only flash system and boot? If not I'd recommend you to flash 4.4.4 using the flash-all method.

PM your address so I can send you a trophy. :good:
Android 5.0 runs great on the Nexus 5. You should try a reinstall.

Reboot the phone in safe mode and see if it's still having issues. If not, it's an app causing the issues

No. What i said is if you want to ask a question, ask it. But yes, this IS a developers forum and not an android support forum, so what I'm saying is if you want to vent, don't do it here. Do it somewhere else, such as Facebook or an android support forum. We're already putting up with non development related questions. We shouldn't have to put up with waste-of-space vent threads too. Its not the place for them

Ok, well apparently you can't read between the lines or make inferences. So here you go: "Does anyone have a solution to this problem?"
Happy now? Question.

Happier, yes. But my point was if you want help, ask. If you vent then expect help when you don't phrase a specific question, you're lucky to get any. That is all.
