Hey,
i finally got mine unlocked.
i hope this works for more people too:
1. i registered my device on the asus Siteus. (dont know if that is necessary)
2. after that i clickt on the contact technical support button
3. i wrote this to the support:
"I want to use the unlock tool from asus, but a error shows up:
unknown network error,
please wait and try later.
People over at xda developer say that it is a problem with your server.
The tool trys to connect, to check my serial number and mark that number as
unlocked. That seems not to work. Can you fix your server. Would be great."
4. i got an answer from asus the day after, and they wanted to know my WiFi Mac Address(seems to be important for the unlock tool)
he said he will give the mac address to his colleagues to check it (my serial he already had)
5. half a day later i could unlock my device
hope this helps others. plz report here if it works for you too
sry for english mistakes and a happy x-mas from germany

I emailed Tien about this issue last night and he responded that they are aware of the problem and it's up to Asus HQ to fix the problem with the unlock tool. The issue is occuring with tablets that are brand new, bought when the unit first came out, have had RMA service, and they don't know why this is occuring. Being that the tool would void warranty it isn't exactly a high priority for them to solve. He actually apologized for the incovience and run around I got from email/phone support. There are people in Asus who care about the products and customers.
Calling in is really a chance in what end result you get. Some reps won't help because the "unlock" tool isn't supported by them and voids warranty. Same with the device tracker website. One rep I spoke with had no idea what the tracker was and kept insisiting that it wasn't an Asus product and supported by them. The real solution is finding a way to pressure\get Asus HQ to address the problem with the tool. They have already made the sale and profit from us buying the tablet and the warrning about voiding warranty is clear. It free's them of any further obligation to the device and means they can save money by not having to support hardware\software failures caused by the owners desire to modfiy things.
Till then I'll try a few times through the day and maybe get lucky with the tool working.

Asus Apps like DMclient Frozen or removed?
kabuk1 said:
Holy crap you guys, I think I may have stumbled onto something here.
Little bit of backstory- So I've been trying to unlock this thing since I got it with zero success. Just one failure after another & lots of anger. I registered it, I tried unlocking it on different wifi networks, different times of the day, etc, all to no avail. I rooted it on day one & froze DMclient & CMclient b/c I tried the JB update when I first got it & didn't like it, so I rolled back & froze the updaters cause didn't want it nagging me to update again. It hit me while I was at work today- these apks communicate with Asus's servers, what if them being frozen is what's stopping the unlocking? So I unfroze them, ran the unlocker again, and... it worked. Immediately and with zero errors
Maybe its just a coincidence, maybe Asus randomly fixed their servers just today, I dunno. But if you have those apks frozen/removed & can't unlock, defrost/reinstall them & try again. Not promising this is THE answer, but it seems more than coincidental to me that after literally a MONTH of trying to unlock it nearly every day with no success, it worked right away as soon as I did that.

Asus unlock tool is the only way (only tool) can be use to unlock your device. This tool will work with both ICS and JB version. If some how you can't unlock your device using the tool, then the issue is with Asus server and your device. Like your MAC address or serial number are not registered correctly with Asus.

Same problem here: Got a brand-new TF700 yesterday (my GF threw my old TF201 to the floor, it is totally broken now)
Problems:
- No OTA updates (my tablet is on 10.4.4.23)
- Device Tracker not working (says Serial Number is unknown)
- Asus Unlock Tool gives me some unknown network error
I have called the hotline from Asus Germany yesterday. They gave me two MAC addresses which are stored in their system for my device, the second one was the right one.
So I'd rule out some issues with my MAC address. I wonder why Asus has two MAC addresses for my device, though.
For me it seems that my device cannot connect to Asus at all, probably some Asus server issues?
However the Asus guay told me that I should try it for a few days, if it still doesn't work I have to RMA it.
Until now I am really dissapointed. My old TF201 was a POS with the Asus Software, I used Androwook with Data2SD and the thing just flew.
Still not working, but I have a logcat now.
I think these are the errors that matter:

It seems that the tablet tries to connect to the Asus server, but the server cannot certificate itself???
I just called Asus Germany again, and I had a competent employee at the phone!
He told me that Asus currently has server problems and that the servers are probably down the whole weekend.
On Monday it should work again.
He also said that he doesn't believe that the problem is my tablet, but if it doesn't work on Monday I should call again.
So, let's wait and see...
Update: Still does not work.
Called Asus again and the hotline-guy confirmed that this is most likely a problem with the Asus server. He opened a ticket and I had to create an additional ticket via the Asus support-page.
I was promised to get an answer within 48 hours, so let's see...

Hm. I've opened a ticket via the Asus Germany page yesterday. Today I got a first answer. They needed the S/N and the MAC-address, although I gave them these informations already via phone.
According to the hotline, the problem should be the Asus server. So I assume that I don't have to send it in. But let's wait and see...
My old TF201 made no problems whatsoever when I unlocked it. So I assume that once that issue is fixed, I will be satisfied with the device.
Can't wait to try out CM10.1 and CHROMI
I have RMA'd my device twice, after getting my mainboard replaced, to get the MAC-address fixed.
Both times I got my device back without a fix and no possibility to unlock / root / downgrade or anything.
I contacted ASUS Germany again and asked for them to see if ASUS HQ in Taiwan can fix the issue as they appear to be able to as reported by a guy in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795156
They replied that they would contact ASUS HQ.

next day with waiting... asus say @ the last call i need to send the tablet back to rms...
i report the support guy from all the user who send the device back to asus and get only a update on JB and no fix of the mac/serialnumber error...
@ this point the supporter give the ticket to the next supporter... and i have to wait... i dont know why asus germany cant comunicate with asus usa and fix the problem without send the device back... i think its the cheapest way for asus...
i think i have to give my tablet back in the shop the german support dont get the problem... i wait now 1 week max...

And Asus 'doesn't provide support' for unlocking, even before the actual process is done. The unlocker hasn't worked since I bought it in June (network error message,) and I'm running ICS. The bootloader needs to be unlocked in order to utilize the I/O fix, something one would have assumed would be fixed considering it plagued the TF300T, but wasn't. I was going to try registering the tablet, but oh look, even Asus' member registration servers don't work. What should I do with this ~$900 paperweight?
Also: "To prevent spam to the forums, new users must wait five minutes between posts." Editing a message isn't a post.
Edit: Correction, the registration servers are up now, but it tells me my tablet is already registered. So not only do I not hold my own device's registration, but it obviously doesn't matter anyway. A quick look reveals that the S/N on the sticker is different than the S/N in the device settings. Is there a way to change the S/N? I doubt that's the problem, but I'm out of ideas besides selling it as a used item, at a loss.
Definitely won't be buying Asus again.

Although buhohitr is absolutely correct in stating that ASUS ins the only entity able to help you out with this, I just wanted to chime in as well to remark that many, if not all units that have come back from ASUS' RMA process have been unable to get unlocked at all.
Although I find it a bit harsh to call the stock 700 a paperweight (just as if it is worthless on its original merits -- which, subjectively speaking, to me is hardly the case -- unlocking and flashing a custom ROM does alleviate at least some of the niggles. Try and drop Gary Key a line -- he might be able to do something for you.

That's funny, because there have been several mentions of this problem (even across forums worldwide).
Well... If the support department retract its head into its turtle armor, I guess there's no alternative to sending it back to ASUS. Can you get OTAs? Normally, the devices that are unable to unlock are also unable to receive updates over-the-air, and that might be a valid concern, thus providing a reason to send it in.
I just sent mine back in for this issue... But I haven't actually heard of anyone getting one back unlockable yet. Maybe one guy, but it's the last 'proper' way to deal with an improper company. When I sent mine in I marked No to the permission to recover o/s and they did it anyways, and that was to fix something they broke during the previous rma. They told me they didn't and only replaced the cover, like I'm some idiot who can't tell if the device is te-locked after sending it in. We'll, there's two people who asked me what to buy and Asus has lost at least two sales now. Maybe they'll figure it out someday if you screw others you'll have it come back around.

I too cannot unlock my tablet but am able to receive OTA. I'm hoping the servers are just temporally down.

Other Options?
Hopefully there is a developer out there who has a lot more knowledge than myself who might be able to answer this for me. Why do we need to run an unlock from Asus? Why should they know that we have unlocked our devices and keep tabs on our devices?
I own an Acer A500 Tablet also. This tablets comes shipped with a locked boot loader, however Acer do not provide an option of unlocking.
The Acer devs run a routine called 'ItsMagic' to bypass the locked bootloader. Here is a link to the XDA thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1121543
Is this an option for our TF700T?
P.S I will start this reply as a separate thread so I do not Hijack this thread. Sorry to the OP.
Hey all - just wanted to update the thread. I had a tab go back for RMA that was unlocked, came back locked and couldn't unlock d/t 'network error'. Well, sent it back in again and it was able to unlock. The RMA sheet showed 'SSN show unknown' under the problem catagory. I know the tf300 guys have a lot of this problem too, but thought it sounded like the same problem some of us who sent their devices in for RMA work.

SSN is the serial number. Do you remember if the serial number on the "about tablet" page matched the sticker on the tablet that was not unlockable?

Yes, IIRC. I checked that when I first had problems. I've read about others having some issue with their MAC address though, but I don't know what that was before and after the RMA. I don't think I've read of anyone else actually getting this issue resolved when they sent it in though.

Might even be the same issue - I think the unlock tool sends the MAC address to the unlock server, and the database on the server should contain a matching record with your CPU key and maybe serial number. If not, you can't unlock.
Some time ago I came across a company online called ‘Beijing iPhone Repair dot com’ (spelt as I do not wish to create a web link to their website) that said they could unblock / clean IMEI numbers that had been blacklisted from the UK IMEI blacklist database.
Well I had an iPhone 4 that I bought in a job lot that was blocked and according to Checkmend had been ‘blocked by one or more network providers’ but not reported lost or stolen so I thought I’d give this service a try.
The phone to be, what they term as ‘IMEI cleaned’ had to be on the Orange / T-Mobile / EE network so I checked the Apple iTunes log files and found it was locked to Orange.
I bought the (approx. £35.00GBP) service which was to be completed within seven days. Four days later it was unblocked and working fine so I left some good feedback on their website.
A few months later I read that Beijing iPhone Repairs were now unblocking any mobile phone locked to the Orange / T-Mobile / EE network so I thought I’d try an Android Sony Xperia that I had also bought in a job lot with the same Checkmend reports.
After 7 days I got the email from Beijing iPhone Repair saying the unlock had been done but when I tested the phone it had not. I made a video proving the unblock had not worked (http://youtu.be/tOj9WDZrDQA) then I contacted the company by email and spoke to someone named ‘Jonathan’.
Jonathan has told me that I must wait for their supplier in the UK to inform them the unblock will not work before they refund my money. There was no mention of this condition in the advert but I reluctantly agreed to wait a further 7 days for their supplier to retry the service.
It has now been two months since I bought the service from them and despite many emails they have refused to refund any money to me without the go ahead from their supplier which to be honest I think is just an excuse to cover their theft from me.
I can no longer access their website without using a proxy server as they have blocked my I.P address as they don’t like me speaking about it on their forum page! They have also blocked me from accessing their Facebook page and asking for my refund there too.
So this is just a warning to anyone that is thinking of using ‘Beijing iPhone Repair dot com’, they are dishonest! Also they use PayPal as a payment service and PayPal offers no buyer protection for claims involving the sale of non-physical goods – you will lose the dispute as soon as it is read by PayPal staff, as I found out!
Here is a log of the emails I have received from Jonathan. I hope I have saved some people from their underhand business methods.

No problem. It's just a shame they couldn't be honest as the first service was fine and I would have spent much more money with them. If they do ever pay me back I will say so on here but they are not even answering my emails now!
Update
Just to update...
After showing them this post and pointing out that Googling 'Beijing iPhone Repair' shows this post directly below their own website they refunded me. (The power of XDA!) They have also blocked my I.P from accessing their website for some reason, assuming I have no idea what a proxy is! It was unnecessary anyway as I have no desire to return to it anyway!
I dont mean to hijack OP's thread, but it seems I also got scammed too :/

Paid 150$ to this guy for a client's iCloud ID locked device, 50 days ago. No response ever since, no service provided whatsoever. An official claim has been opened in paypal, and a bank one will follow. The guy has not ever respond to any inquiries.
I will be providing details on this on all related websites and forums, if any other fellow unlocker has been scammed as well, pls contact me for info, and make sure you have proof as well. I will be opening a thread on gsmhosting as well on this, and make sure this guy gets what is due from now on.

UPDATE: Turns out, after i posted this thread's link to his facebook page, he actually dealt with the issue and sent the refund. So, so far so good with him, I cant complain from what it seems.

Actually it was Apple by Winter or last year that requires that now every unlock request needs to be done vía Internet per att(dot)com/deviceunlock as an only alternative.
Previously, Customer Service could work and receive instant approval at the phone.
Sorry for the late respond and that my last post was perceived as off-topic.
Really warning!
Wish I read this thread before applying in that website.

They are scammers! Almost 4 weeks and my order still shows "Awaiting Processing". They do not reply to my emails or support ticket. Of course they will not refund me, because they are not a legitimate service, they are FRAUDS! Be warned and do not trust them, they will simply steal your money.

They are scammers or having big problems right now! Almost 3 months and my 2 orders still show "Awaiting Processing". They do not reply to my emails, support ticket. I wrote them on Facebook. They even replied but didn't refund. Here is our conversation:

You already unlocked several iPhones and restored iCloud e-mails for me. Turned into scammers? I am a bulk order client. Okay, I am starting posting about this case on all main forums and request a chargeback in my bank.
your business is dishonest, I am very disappointed((

My 2 clients are still waiting and I don't want to harm you. Just please keep me informed.

Hi sir, apologies for the late reply again as we are waiting for rejection from supplier side. We have already stopped using their services due to slowness. Also just to add Apple and other carriers are stricter with unlocking causing delays around the world.
I see, thank you for reply
and what about finding iCloud e-mail?

Hello,
I'm trying to unlock the tablet and went through the steps for the app. I keep getting an error or it times out or crashes. I contacted Asus and they said the tablet is unlocked in their system. However when booting the tablet up again, it doesn't say that it is unlocked. What should I do? Is there another method to unlock the tablet. I got it from a friend and it is no longer under warranty. An RMA would cost too much.
That is going to be a tough one to solve... You have to convince Asus to correct the entry in their database - not an easy feat. Did your friend unlock it and then replace the motherboard?
There is no other way to unlock the tablet - period.
Try to sign up for Asus VIP service (it's free), register your tablet and contact them. They seem to be more responsive than general customer service.
You can also email [email protected]
He's a customer relations guy who sometimes hangs out in the Transformer Forums. Include a screenshot of your About tablet info with your serial# in each email.
Good luck!
Heya, I need some advice regarding issue I'm facing right now.
I bought Google Pixel back in december, but unfortunately vibrator stopped working on 3rd week. I bought device from the carphone warehouse (London,UK). I went to them and told them about this they said me that they can only help if device is in 14 days period, after that warranty goes straight to google and you need to contact them to get it replaced.
Now here the magic happens
I called google on 3rd January regarding this, they told me to send back faulty device which i did on 7th of January. They have dispatched my new device on 19th of January but sadly because of the uneducated (not trained) support team they shipped it to wrong address. They told me that I have to wait till they get the device back, so I contacted shipping company and explained the situation to them and they returned the device to warehouse where it came from and they also have sent me the copy of all transits. Now since then my device is still stuck in same process as they have some technical glitch in their system they cant send me back my old device or neither replacement device. I'm chasing them since 4 months now but no one is helping me out. Every-time I get the same answer that our specialist are working on the issue and thank you for being patient. In march I moved to my home country ( Pixel is officially launched in my country ), now there is no way I can sue them over legal way as I'm not in same country (I guess) and I lost the device as well. I have almost hundreds of email regarding try to resolve the issue but they just don't give sh*t about customer. I have paid full amount in cash and right now I have nothing but just emails full with apologize .
Its a shame for google to unable to fix a simple shipping issue since 4 months. I have been told that all the experts are working on my case but who cares. How can they became expert if they cant fix single issue in 4 months. I have talk about this issue on multiple site but no answer from anywhere. For google it just a matter of dispatching new device to me and resolve the issue later as I have submitted my old device but no Luck.
I have been ripped off by google over my pixel device.
Its a Google USA support team who is handling my issue right now.
Any suggestion will be appreciated. If you can tag the person who can help or can rise the issue on XDATV for just a few seconds will be very very helpful.
Have you been on the phone instead of email. Explain situation to get escalated to management.
Try the Pixel user community at productforums.google.com. What have they been saying other than thanks for being patient? You need to speak to someone directly, phone or live chat would be great but I'm not sure they have it. Good luck anyway, I hope it gets resolved.
