Everytime I look at my battery monitor 'GSam Pro' it shows apps that are running and eating my battery life in particular 'Poynt' which I don't use everyday but it is always running, I've used 'Advanced Task Killer Pro' and killed many processes but 'Poynt' does not show up in tasks to be killed and even in my 'System Tuner Pro' it does not show up so my question is how to KILL it? When I go into my apps and look at 'Poynt' I do have the option to 'Force Close' it but it always has a pop up saying 'May Cause App to Perform Badly', what to do and how to kill apps such as this that are obviously eating my battery and I'm also using 'DS Battery Pro' to monitor my phone?
You can force close. The worst is you will have to enjoy. You might want to root. The other option is to disable the app in Application Manager. Private message me if you need help.

It's the default messaging app. Go into the settings in the default app and disable notifications if you're going to use the Handcent ones.
The default is already disabled. The other comment is right, i installed beautiful widgets but I don't see where to disable notifications.

It must be a glitch because default was disabled and it was still showing up. Once I deleted beautiful widgets and add on it went away. I think this was the same issue the other poster had.

There are battery icons which will go in your status bar on Google Play and maybe notifications but just search battery and all results. Also, what do you mean by your second question? Having a Mac doesn't mean you will mess up rooting. Ask questions and attempt when you're good and ready

I want to disable some processes of Facebook app and Maps. Example Facebook has 3 processes: media upload service, mqtt push service, background detection service. I want to disable the first and third cause I don't need them, but I need the second for push notifications. Is it possible without freezing the app, or un installing it?

Afaik System Tuner has that option, but would probable break the whole app. And probably you wont have noticeable gains in free RAM, why dont hard swap instead?

When it went black, did you press the power button a couple times fast trying to catch it? It happens to me sometimes on all jb roms.
As for the lockscreen.. Thats weird. Do you have any custom shortcuts on it? Or custom targets? I'll do my best to help

Anyone else notice superuser works but its not listed in programs? I tried to update via playstore and it failed
This is more of a proof of concept that might be useful to lock the screen.
Does not require root.
HTC's framework detects gestures while the screen is on, this is actually broadcasted to all applications, but the only app that reacts to it is HTC's Media Output (Three finger swipe up or left-right).
This app is both an implementation that reacts to a three finger click to lock the screen, and a dev concept that shows how to react to the gestures.
If you want to use this to lock the phone, just tap with three fingers anywhere after enabling device admin.
Download:
http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/public/Android/HTCOneM8/
Source:
https://github.com/MohammadAG/HTC-Gesture-Listener
More dev stuff:
If anyone is interested where this happens, it's in services.odex's com.htc.server.gesture package.
This is one of the best hacks I've used for the m8 so far ... Very simple yet tasty ?
Thanks..and keep up the good work

The app is simply a listener, it does not enable anything, in fact, if a three finger gesture is not detected by the system, as far as the system is concerned, the app does not exist (it does not take CPU cycles, or memory, or any resources besides storage for the APK).
Therefore, it's technically impossible for it to cause any battery drain. I have no idea what happened on your phone, but it's likely a coincidence.
With that said, my reply was a bit rude, so apologies for that.

You'll need to enable the app as a Device Policy Manager. You have to open the app once for Android to confirm it wasn't maliciously installed.
