Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone knows of any good battery indicator/widget that displays in the notification bar. **And ALSO isn't a app in the app Drawer**** Im not rooted, so they would have to be nonroot apps.

There are battery icons which will go in your status bar on Google Play and maybe notifications but just search battery and all results. Also, what do you mean by your second question? Having a Mac doesn't mean you will mess up rooting. Ask questions and attempt when you're good and ready

I'm using widgetsoid wich also has a battery percentage indicator, doesn't drain nothing from the battery, I've tested it.

It's the default messaging app. Go into the settings in the default app and disable notifications if you're going to use the Handcent ones.
The default is already disabled. The other comment is right, i installed beautiful widgets but I don't see where to disable notifications.

It must be a glitch because default was disabled and it was still showing up. Once I deleted beautiful widgets and add on it went away. I think this was the same issue the other poster had.

srry, i meant the button lights on the bottom
There is an app in the Market called LG 2X/Black/3D Notifications that works with the G2X. It worked without root with 2.2 but apparently it requires root with 2.3.3 due to some changes LG made to the phone.
Yup I use the one phburks suggested works very nice, the developers of the app fixed the root issue with 2.3.3, works flawless
thx

I wouldn't call it fixing the root issue. I just downloaded and installed the app and it required root permission to make the file writable and has to do so at every boot. So if you are not rooted it will not work on 2.3.3 on our device.
Does not work for me.

No it is not possible. LG changed the permissions on the file that controls the soft key lights in Gingerbread. It is now a read only file. In order to write to it and turn on the lights you must be rooted so the app can change the permissions.

I think this one sucks compared to the CM7 one. CM7 one has slightly better options and less annoying. That is, unless someone can tell me how to not get this one to "pulse" the lights and give the option to cler with touch of home key.

No. it basically turns your screen on when you get a notification and shows icons depending on what you have...mail..txt..etc. It keeps the screen on until you check it (i think you can set it on a timer tho). But yeah..its a battery drain.

Try charging it up to 100% and letting it drain all the way down til it dies and charge it up to 100% again. See if cycling it like that will fix it.

Everytime I look at my battery monitor 'GSam Pro' it shows apps that are running and eating my battery life in particular 'Poynt' which I don't use everyday but it is always running, I've used 'Advanced Task Killer Pro' and killed many processes but 'Poynt' does not show up in tasks to be killed and even in my 'System Tuner Pro' it does not show up so my question is how to KILL it? When I go into my apps and look at 'Poynt' I do have the option to 'Force Close' it but it always has a pop up saying 'May Cause App to Perform Badly', what to do and how to kill apps such as this that are obviously eating my battery and I'm also using 'DS Battery Pro' to monitor my phone?
You can force close. The worst is you will have to enjoy. You might want to root. The other option is to disable the app in Application Manager. Private message me if you need help.

I dont have the details..but there must be possibilities since it has something to do with the color panels or such. Again, it didnt not came from me, i just read it somewhere..
One thing for sure, using another app like that will somehow cause battery drain.. its a background process that keeps on running whenever your screen is on. Imagine how much juice is being lost watching a movie, games, etc. - Just a logic of mine btw.
Its just that, Sony somehow gave us a headache for that tint issues. Hopefully they will have a solution for that if could be done via software updates. Other than that, Goodluck to those who got an item with yellowish tint screens. White Balance ported app for Z1 hopefully will be done by @krabappel2548 or other great devs and it will be fine I guess because the source came from Sony itself, to be modified to run on different devices..
Thank you.

the screen adjuster i used b4 is a very very light apps, barely noticeable when it's running. of course, theoretically, any apps running is the background will consume additional battery. but in practical, the battery consumed by this apps, i personally have not felt any noticeable drain.
as mentioned, this screen adjuster is just a temporary workaround. a white balance port will always be better. a permanent fic from sony will be even better (hopefully)
