[Q] Help with inverted app - HTC One S

About a month ago,I installed inverted gapps using quickflash and everything has been working fine. However, today, I accidentally updated my instagram and the app has now reverted back to stock. Is there anyway that I can just flash the inverted version of this app without having to : wipe everything, flash the ROM, flash gapps, then reinstall the whole quickflash package?

can't get past to welcome screen

Ok, so i downloaded the new HellFire Phoenix V2.1 p999 and also installed the customised latest google apps by the Hellfire (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420972).
I can't get past to the welcome screen (the screen where you have to touch the android thing to start the setup). this only happens when i install the google apps. I also tried installing ROM without the the google apps and it works, but i don't have anything to sync contacts from (you need google apps) and when i try to download the play store online, it doesn't open.
Try without those specific gapps or re-download them

Try these GAPPS instead. http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip

How are you installing them. Like are you flashing rom then immediately gapps. Or flashed booted the phone then tryed to flash gapps without wipeing cache and davlik first. I'd try to wipe those caches... flash a fresh download of gapps then fix permissions. And you should be all set

Removing Gapps package from phone

Does anybody know how to remove an entire Gapps package from our phone, in order to flash another?
I'm using Justin Bean inverted Gapps and I'm having a hell of a time with it, mainly the YouTube app which will force close every time you try to raise the volume of a video via volume rocker, and then will not re-open until the phone is rebooted.
I want to remove JB Gapps and flash an entirely different package. I'm on Cypher ROM Build 2.
You should be able to wipe cache and dalvik and then flash the new package and reboot.
Use root explorer.. go to /system and delete YouTube.apk
Then install the one of your choice

That's what I was trying to get around doing. It's a pain to have to set everything up the way I like it again, which is why I haven't flashed Build 3 yet.
I ended up going through the ROM with Titanium Backup, uninstalling all of the Justin Bean Gapps, and just flashing an entirely new package. Everything is working great, now.

It's always good to do a fresh wipe every once in awhile

CM10 Install = Force Close on all Gapps?

This never used to happen until a month ago or so but any of the CM10 nightly install fine (I am using the right gapps). Any how I do a full wipe install and upon boot all the Google apps modules keyboard, media etc start force closing. Anything I am missing here this seemed to start happening middle Sept with any nightly I have tried installing. Thanks for any help with this!

Have you been re flashing gapps with each nightly? Also what version of gapps are you using, just to be sure.

I have used gapps-jb-20121011-signed stright from goomanager and also the Cyanogen link (wiki) for CM10 -- this started around the middle of September (I dont recall the exact date to be honest). I am not installing ontop of its-self I am doing a fresh install (cache, dalvik, factory reset, system wipe, etc) in TWRP.
When I do a new install (each time doing a full wipe) all of the gapps start crashing when the phone boots up the 1st time...
I just dont know what else to try here honestly and hope I can find an answer!

Actually Rohan something else is going on here -- even if I dont install the GAPP package at 1st I get things like NFC force closing on boot. The really strange thing is I installed AOKP release 4 and it does not have this problem -- it installs fine it boots fine it has given me no errors like the CM10 nightly's have (great work btw).

Return to stock gapps

I flashed inverted gapps from a post in the latest liquid beta using cwm recovery. Cleared cache, dalvik, and fixed permissions. When I got back into the phone I lost the s stock email app. So I want to return to stock gapps (20121212) so in cmw recovery cleared cache and dalvik, then flashed gapps zip. After the zip file finished installing I fixed permissions. When the phone boots back into android the inverted gapps is still on, and no stock email app. So am I missing a step somewhere while flashing back to stock gapps?

Root Explorer or reflash gapps like the big boys instead of using an app.

Keyboard troubles

I had the 4.2 keyboard installed as an app when I was running Sense. When I switched to CM 10.1 the App remained even though I'd flashed Gapps. So I uninstalled it and flashed a zip of the keyboard in TWRP. However when I cane to install the latest nightly when I rebooted I had no keyboard installed and had to flash the zip again.

Hi there.
Gapps doesn't contain keyboard. It's only a mix of google apps like GMAIL, Youtube etc.
As you written after flashing new rom your old keyboard still existed, so it means that you didn't wipe old stuff.
It's recommenden to wipe before flashing new stuff. Also clearing cache is a good idea, so old stuff won't be there anymore .

Try this one, work on slim rom's. No idea for CM . That is a multilanguage, and work with swipe :good:
Wish you success!
