Anyone else having issues trying to play a movie in the Google Movies & TV App?
Works fine on my Galaxy S3, Nexus 7, but cannot play anything on my Stock Tab 2 10.1
I submitted the issue to Google and supposedly they're looking into it, but I wanted to see if anyone else has this issue or knows anything about it
thanks!
Do you have a custom rom, or just the stock rom, because sometimes crashed with customs roms

All of a sudden YouTube is force closing on me when trying to play some videos.. I've tried clearing the cache and data, I've removed and installed YouTube from the market and from a good known backup..
What gives? Noting has changed that I know of.. It worked fine one hour, the next trying to play the same video it will fc. But it will play some, I guess it's just picky and doesn't like my taste of videos.

Is a common Youtube Mobile today. For exemple for me it FCs when I want to watch a video, all my subscriptions were gone etc. (just on mobile version). And it happened on my 2.3.4 SGSII, on my 4.0.3 Nexus S and on CM7 SGS
So it's an issue with YouTube then? Makes sense because I have an epic doing the same thing but not as bad as the nexus.

Does anyone have a solution for getting Videos to work on a rooted 4G Xoom running ICS. I have tried multiple ROMS and the temp root remover app in the market and I still can not play rented videos. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I encountered this. Sadly no real answer as rooted devices are barred from playing these videos by Google or actually the film industry.
I wrote to customer services and got my money back for the rental.

I did a Netflix update today on my Razr and it seems that the new update does not let you play video unless you are connected to wifi?!?! I found a apk file online (netflix 1.8) so i uninstalled the new version and installed this one and it started working again. Can anyone else confirm this? Why would Netflix start doing this? watch out guys
To my knowledge, this is an update across the board.

You can change that in the settings.

I have been trying to find an answer for this too. I have had no luck after trying a few different things.
Do you know any roms that you can watch google play on? I hear liquid you can, but have not checked.
Re: [Q] Google play movies on CR 6 R
I flashed liquid last night, only watched about 30 seconds of justified. Going to mess with this some more tonight.
I have extracted the Amazon Instant Video app from my Google TV device. It opens on the Note 8, you can select videos, but on trying to actually stream the video you selected, it crashes. If there are any talented people on this forum who want to try playing with the .apk file to see if they can fix it, or if there's someone willing to host this file, let me know and I will email it to you.

You would also need to get the Flash enabled version of GTV Chrome working, since that is really what the app relies on.
EDIT: At least that is the case on the Sony NSZ-GT1. If it is different for your device, I'll have a look, but from what research I have done, it is not an easy task & it will involve a few modifications that will not sit well with other apps or the Play Store.
Post it up though, I just got my dev environment setup on my new machine & the missus will be out of town this weekend.
Unfortunately you're right. The Google TV Chrome app will not install on the Note.
There doesn't seem to be a way to post files through the XDA app, but I can email them to whoever wants them.

Well, I have to report that I have had little luck getting this to work on any non-GTV device. I even built an AOSP build with using a GTC boardconfig. No luck.
I am very pissed with Amazon though, so I went & bought a LTE KF HD 8.9 & I am going to play with getting it working on other tablets. Man I hate the Kindle stock experience. Thank goodness for root. I'll let you know if I find a simple way to get it running, but it will take some time as business is wicked crazy right now.
Any luck?

Yes & no. I have firstly been playing with the Nexus 10 & the KF HD 8.9. I was able to finally get AVOD to work on the Nexus 10, BUT, *BUT*, I essentially had toport the entire KF rom to the Nexus 10. It is buggy & there are some graphical & resolution issues, but it worked.
The only other instance I have found was also similar. A guy got it working on a Galaxy Tab, essentially doing the same thing, porting the whole KF rom.
You could of course use a different launcher, but it is still ICS, 4.0.3, & aside from losing a lot of the N10 cool features, it really is far from stable. I don't have a lot of time for this stuff at the moment, work is crazy busy these days. At any rate, I am going to see if I can try to go about it the other way & try to port some of the KF framework & core apps to JB when I get some time. Right now though, it is a no go.
