SO, I have a really complicated setup for my computer, and whenever I need to print something, things become jumbled up and havoc occurs. I'm wondering if there are any printing apps on the market that utilizes the Transformer's ability to have a USB port due to its keyboard. I've searched around and most of the apps seem to require cloud, but my printer is not wireless nor does it connect to my router for some odd reason. Does anyone know of any apps in which I can simply connect the USB cable to the keyboard and print?
I doubt that you'll find an app, since a tablet does not have the drivers to operate the printer.
Neither can you install those.
Printers are cheap - get a WiFi ready one. Most manufacturers have print apps for tablets, there's Google Print, lots of options with WiFi.

I know this might be tough and might not work for all devices, but can we make something, via USB cables/Bluetooth/WiFi or whatsoever to dock our phone to our laptop/desktop?
Perhaps a program for the Windows to show the display of the phone at phone's resolution. Then mouse to navigate within Android (we'll lose multi-touch though - no pinch-to-zoom) and of course keyboard to perform what it should.
Is it very hard to realise?
What I have been thinking is to get the display out, let the mouse be our finger and each keyboard button to map to the alphabet input to the phone.
Impossible?
(Disclaimer: I have zero knowledge in developing an apps or software. It's just a wild idea I have after watching the laptop dock of Atrix)
VNC? Host VNC on the phone and connect to it from a laptop/PC. It'd run slow and **** though.
Webkey (ROOT REQUIRED) accomplishes this with a browser interface over WiFi, I'm not sure if it works over the USB cable.
I know the TF has integrated webcams, but due to the nature of the project I'm working on I need external ones.
I'm wondering if anyone has plugged in a USB video capture device like a webcam into the dock USB ports. What happens on the stock ROM? any other ROM have better results? If anyone has Ubuntu running, any success there?
I have two Lifecam Studio HD webcams that I'd like to get working, one on each USB port. The Lifecams require each to be connected to a different USB root hub. That means that I'd also like to know the hardware configuration of the two USB ports. ASUS could have one controller and a integrated hub (as is done on many laptops). Does anyone know how this has been setup? The only way I know of to test this is to either get two devices that don't work on the same root hub to work or to look at lsusb.
I doubt that the kernel has support for external USB web cams but it is worth trying I suppose.

There are plenty of apps that let you control your PC with your android phone/tablet, but is there something that lets you control your tablet with a PC keyboard/mouse?
I was smart enough to buy the EEE pad TF101 without the dock, and ASUS was so smart that they put the USB in on the dock.. (Anyone want to trade ? )
I found this http://www.xda-developers.com/android/use-your-pc-as-your-android-keyboard-with-pcbtkeyboard/ but it requires bluetooth which my desktop doesn't have.
Any tips? Thanks in advance.
have you tried using BT dongle on your desktop ?
Hi Folks:
With the arrival of XBMC for Android I'm eagerly putting it to the test on my TF700. The only thing I lack is a decent remote control. I have a Mediagate WMC Remote Control (it uses a USB dongle)...if I plug it into Ubuntu, it is automatically recognized and works out of the box. If I plug it into my Boxee Box, it gets automatically recognized as well.
However when I plug it into my TF700 USB port on the dock, no luck. The device appears to be well supported even under Linux...does anyone have any thoughts on how to get it to work with Android?
For what it's worth my cordless trackball works with the TF700 (it also uses a USB dongle) just fine. It can pass for an awkward "remote" but I'd rather a proper remote control.

Hello, I have no use for my tablet so i was wondering, if i can somehow make the tablet a wired display. There are lots of app avaiable but i didn't find any that could connect to my pc with a cable. And alot of them are paid.
Is there a more effective way to do this?
Thank you

Hello, Shield tablet has only HDMI out. so, it can't be used as display effectively. If you could try those apps that uses USB cable, they still are limited by USB transfer speed, and custom code in their apps. They most likey won't perform fast enough to be a good display.
VNC viewer and other screen sharing apps are only decent options, but they lag, and resolution may mess up from time to time.
