[Q] How do I unroot the Samsung Conquer 4G? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Does anyone know how to unroot the samsung conquer 4g and bring it back to factory stock? I need to remove Odin and clockwork mod so that the phone can reprogrammed for use with Ting. (They have a bring your own device program that's in beta and this is one of the phones on their approved list that auto-programs.) So far I've gotten everything to work except for data. It's my wife's phone and she's throwing a fit.
If I don't get this fixed soon, I'm stuck on the couch until I can save up enough to get her a galaxy note 2, lol. Plus the info would be very helpful.
Í have already tried this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768456 but the instructions aren't clear enough to do what I need to get done. They just give you a link on how to root the device using Odin. I need instructions on UNrooting the conquer with Odin as well as removing clockwork mod and replacing it with the factory stock bootloader. If anyone can help, please post it here. I plan on merging all of the resources for this endeavor after I have all of the facts. Also, Ting is looking at options to have a custom rom built for them. Any devs that are interested can pm me and I will put you in contact with either Scott or James (the Ting officials that are running the Ting Army). :highfive: Anyways, let's see what can be done about this phone so that not only I can benefit from the knowledge, but others may benifit from it as well. Thank you all for your time and hard work.

[ROOT] Samsung Conquer Method (PLEASE MOVE)

Devs, please move this as my question has been answered and i would like it to be easily accessible to other Conquer owners. Thank you.
I take absolutely no credit for this method.
Thanks goes to the creaters of SuperOneClick and to dray_jr bringing this method to my attention.
Here is a quick Guide to Rooting your Samsung Conquer 4G
1. Download Super One Click Root 2.3.1(below)
2. Extract the rar to any location you choice
3. On your phone click Menu, Settings, Application, Development and check USB Debugging.
4. Open SuperOneClick
5. Plug your phone in to the USB
6. Click Root and watch it do its thing
When it is done it should have installed SuperUsers and you should now be rooted.
At this time there is no Roms or Recoverys so the only thing we benifit from is some apps and being able to remove some of the clutter.

Feel free to move this if you feel it doesn't belong.
The reason Im posting here is to get the attention of devs.
My fiance just upgraded to the conquer since it was free and I've been out if work. It doesn't appear anyone is trying to root it yet as there isn't even a sub forum on xda.
Was wondering if I could enlist the help of you fine devs to get this phone rooted. We mainly want root for wifi hotspot so we can cut out internet costs. I know I can just use my hero but would much rather use a phone running 4G.
Thanks in advance for all HELPFUL comments.

This would be better suited and answered in the General Forum of XDA. My search of it yields no results in root yet but I'd be patient and someone will eventually. They've already released source code for the phone so it shouldn't be too hard when an experienced dev gets a hold of it.
I don't know of any other Heroc devs getting this phone so that's why I suggest posting this along with the other people hoping to achieve root. This only gets attention of Heroc devs who mostly all moved to the shooter 3vo (me also soon). Plus with ICS development going on most of us have got our plates pretty full. At least i know I do.
Figured I'd post at least something for you since no one else responded.

Now get back to bringing me a beautiful ICS rom lol. J/k enjoying it all for now but moving to Evo 3d in January.
Thanks again. Please move or delete this thread.

mainly need root for wifi hotspot. If it works, the stock kernel should suffice correct?
If it does not work, what are the chances of it screwing up the phone?

i was able to with no questions at all. i have Titanum Backup Root Fully working.
I also tried installing a custom recovery it gave me 2 options Epic and GalaxyS i9000 i tried both just to try with no luck. i might sit down today and look into getting a recovery and or Rom to work but i am not fimilar with doing this but i am still going to try
Once i start i will be making a thread with updates on how it is going. What i would like to see on this phone is of course a clockwork recovery. But also i want a Rom with Sprint ID removed along with the rest of the bloat ware. other then that the phone it self runs great minus a few bugs here and there with some games not booting up or randomly kicking me to the home screen.
but anyway i hope everyone enjoys the root we have now

[Q] Samsung Epic 4G Touch Root Problems! Any Help?

As the title says, I have the Samsung Galaxy SII Sprint's variation. I rooted my phone when it was on the version before Gingerbread EL29. I used the SuperOneClick method to root my phone and after doing that, 'Superuser' was installed on my phone. Everything was going fine until I accidentally updated my phone to Gingerbread 2.3.6 EL29 via Sprint's over-the-air update. I know it sounds dumb from me but I really knew that if I updated my phone I could mess up my root privileges, but that pop up update was showing up each 5 minutes, that in one of them I accidentally pressed 'install'. Now I have tried to unroot my phone with SuperOneClick but 'Superuser' is still there and when I access an app that requires root privileges like 'Wireless Tether' it says that my phone is not rooted. I also tried to do a factory reset and root again with 'SuperOneClick' but it freezes up (I guess it's because 'Superuser' is still there?) I was also thinking on installing a rooted rom but I don't know if I can install custom roms (I don't know if I have CWM and if it will mess up because I'm not rooted?..) Right now I just want to get the latest rooted stable release possible.. Sorry for extending myself but I wanted to give all the important details as possible as I am new in handling root phones and also in this forum. I will appreciate any help, thanks!

Btw you might want to ask in the epic forums. You will get slot more help. I would use sfhub el29 oneclick

Can someone please extract the stock T-Mo USA ROM?

Can someone here please post a backup of the stock T-Mobile USA ROM, as in out-of-the-box condition (well, rooted is acceptable, but otherwise stock)?
I also need to get a hold of the radio for it. If anyone can provide this, it would be greatly appreciated.

been tons of posts asking for this. hopefully someone pulls through!
+Bump
What would be necessary to create this? I'm still running a stock, non-rooted, locked bootloader phone. I've of course linked to my Google accounts and installed my usual apps but that's it.
I'm no dev and my experience is limited to knowing how to use Odin and I've flashed many a ROM via CWM but I don't really have any experience with adb or anything like that.
Having said that, I can follow directions like nobody so if there is a way I can do this that is low/no (yeah, I know no doesn't exist) risk I'm game. Just tell me what I need to do or someone get on IM and walk me through it.
I just don't want to be in a situation where I end up with a brick. I can't afford another phone and I'm really loving my One S. As much as I love custom ROMs it's not bad out of the box (I'm coming from Touchwiz so I know the pain) but I also understand the need and importance for the development community of a good stock image to revert back to.
Is what you guys are wanting basically a nandroid backup? If so that would require unlocked bootloader, root and CWM wouldn't it?
I'm uploading a rooted nandroid ROM and a unrooted one. Check out my thread in development section.

[Q] Verizon GS3 root

Hi I'm completely new at rooting and was just wondering if rooting using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332825& would cause my phone to be wiped.
I am not planning on flashing any ROMs, just getting rid of all the stuff verizon likes to put in. Thanks in advance!

When you root your phone you're merely adding administrative access to your phone. You should read more into this before doing anything to your 500 dollar phone.
That method works great! And no you will not lose anything. But like the person above me said, do your homework and make sure you know what you're doing.
Good luck, and enjoy your root access
Oh, and while using the casual root method, go ahead and unlock the boot loader and flash CWM recovery right away. Casual will do this all for you. Just choose the options from the drop down menu.
It'll save your a few extra steps in the future if you ever do decide to try out a custom Rom someday.

Help a N00b Lose His Virginity

I'm getting a new 'droid, a Note 5. In the meantime, I want to play around with my old clunker, a Samsung Blaze 4G, and try rooting it, a daunting task from everything I've read. So, please, can someone tell this rooting virgin how best to root this phone? I've looked at a few of the one step programs available but none seem to be compatible with the Blaze 4G. Thank you.
IIRC It's the same as with most Samsung phones. Flash a rooted image / custom recovery via ODIN.
