Is there anyway of having live feeds on our Android phones, like live feeds of sports/tech stuff/news etc... Kinda like the drop down window on the iPhone that shows stocks, something similar and possibly in the same area?
Thanks

How do u add them cuz I just see a bunch of feeds but what next and where do they show up, it won't be as I mentioned above right like having feeds actually show up on my pull down window like the iPhone?
Edit/ Got it but still would be sweet to have live scrolling feeds ya know but maybe someone could include some way to incorporate that into a ROM, just maybe? lol

This may be like using a 55 pound sledge hammer to pound in a finish nail... But you could use "tasker" or "locale" to do this. Setup a time based context (ie 7 am) with a task to launch specific app/file/whatever.
Nah im looking for an app. Anyone?

But I suspect maybe you meant you are looking for an app that exists specifically to do that? Sorry, don't know of any. But the 2 I suggested are capable of that and SO much more, worth looking into if you have time.

This thread is a wishlist for apps that, well, you wish exists (or at least you could not find).
Post them here with a short description, and if anyone knows where to find one, please show us the way.
A small thanks goes a loooong way!
Now, I wish I have the following apps...
1. Time-lapse App for camera.. for taking pics with variable time-delay + max photo option.
2. Apps usage statistics: An app to track which apps I used the most, with number of times/hours used per day/week/month...
3. Modem Sounds: An app to simulate/convert data into modem sounds.

Not that I browse porn with it, but flash sites/flash videos run smooth on the stock browser now. You might want to consider that alternative for now

There is an app called TeamViewer downloader. You install this which then goes out and installs the actual team viewer software on your device. It worked fine on my VZN GT.

Today I found a way to see anyone's profile as if they are your friend using the Facebook app for android.
Find a post they have commented on.
Tap on their profile pic in the comments
As their profile is loading quickly select the photos tab.
Now you can see their photos.. if you wait too long the page will load and you will be stuck on the basic profile info with the choice to add them as a friend.
Random and pointless but I found it interesting none the less

Which FB app version are you talking about? Can't tap on profile pic in comments, only on name: and if I do that and quickly press Photo nothing shows up.
Worked for me! Nice find if I ever need to creep...

Found out it doesn't work if they have their photos blocked to certain people. Most people sent that smart though.

Perhaps most of you know this all ready. And honestly with Facebook you are the product cause your not a customer. However because I along with others have family on Facebook we are in a bind. Well Facebook went native and it finally works well with android. So for the others that have resisted being a user. Maybe its time to give them one more shot?

so far im very impressed with 2.0
The experience is definitely improved with the latest version.
Yup, much better.
Also, the argument that if you're not paying something "you're the product" is.... well I'll just say "dramatic." Yes you're being advertised to, and maybe your information is being used for advertising purposes, but.... most normal people don't give a crap, and it certainly doesn't hurt you.

I couldn't agree with you more about it hurting anyone.
Its not dramatics' its a simple fact. And that's OK that they sell my info to make money so I can have a free social media outlet.
I Apologize if this thread seems derogatory to Facebook. They seem to had missed the mark with not taking care of its "product". A vast amount of android users became disheartened of the HTML code. I wrote emails to fb explained how it seemed they were ignoring the android user.
I digress... the point of this thread was to welcome back and perhaps persuade old users to "give them one more shot" I would have never thought I'd give fb 5stars for the app! all my cool friends are on Google + and my sheep ios family are on fb.
My cool friends are all you guys on XDA!

I usually just used the browser and the mobile site or the Friendcaster app. The mobile FB site looked almost the same as the old app and Friendcaster works really well on a tablet. I'll definitely check out the new update though. It has to be better than before.

I know we have the "Facebook Home" app from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232307
But I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions on how to get the "Facebook/Twitter/Social Media" experience like from the HTC One that just got released. The home page scrolls up and down with a Windows Phone like experience updating your social media that you've put into the phone. Then if you swip left or right it brings you back into the world of Android which I like much more than the "Facebook Home" app from the link above. I think the experience is much smoother and brings the best of both worlds.
Anyone have any idea how to do this with their Skyrocket?

Maybe if you did some searching, you'd know that this isn't called Facebook home. This is blink feed, bundled with HTC sense 5. Smh
Edit: feeling nice today, try SO.HO launcher from the play store.

Best bet would be to try the launcher or ask someone to make a port like they did with FB Home

A port (if it could be done at all) would involve crazy amounts of time and effort. Since BlinkFeed is a Sense feature it relies on HTC's Sense framework which is not included in non-Sense ROMs. Best bet is to use the above launcher or learn to Dev yourself.
Best bet is not use Facebook at all, lol
