Cannot figure out this brick... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I have a soft bricked S3 thats really stumped me. Its hanging at the verizon boot video so i figured i would just ODIN back to stock and be done with it. Everytime i try to flash VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5 i fail. I tried to flash stock.vzw_root66 and i fail. I tried to flash COMBINATION_I535VRBLK3_I535VZWBLK3_381038_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.md5 and i fail. Ive tried different cables and different USB ports but i cant get odin to flash anything. Please help lol. I am using a NON rooted device.

Are you putting the .tar file in the PDA slot in Odin?
Is your phone in download mode?
What base was you phone when it was working? ICS or JB?
If ICS stick with flashing root66 ICS for now (not any bootchains or modems) so that we can focus of getting your phone working first before any type of upgrade.
Also, if you cannot restore your phone by simply flashing root66 in Odin, follow this guide HOW-TO Unbrick Your Soft-Bricked Galaxy S III

I am a base ICS and yes i have the phone in download mode, and i am using the pda slot but i cant get anything at all to flash sucessfully. That is the guide that i got the files from and i cant even get the first file to flash....
1.Open up ODIN
2.Select only the following box: F. Reset Time
3.Flash the VRALEC bootchain in the PDA section and wait for a PASS message
Thats where i get a fail message

Did you check your MD5's? Also, just confirming that you already tried to restore by flashing root66 .tar in PDA with only Auto Reboot and F. Reset checked off? Also, read the second post in that guide and see if your symptoms are similar to the guide's second brick scenario.

Yes, recovery wont boot but i can get into download mode, and i am using odin 3.07

Maybe this will help, i tried for the hell of it to boot normal and now it will go past the splash screen and come up to an "encryption failed" error with a reset button. The reset button does nothing..

have you tried getting into recover since the Odin flash failed?
Also, do you have Kies running on your computer? When using Odin, kies needs to be disabled.

That's the file you mentioned in the OP or the one I just pointed you to (different files)?

That last one was the file you pointed to me and yes they were different files, neither one work.

Flash this (stock bootchain) in PDA: http://truelinux.net/sch-i535/bootchains/BOOTLOADER_I535VRALF2_618049_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.md5
then download this (stock rom), unzip it, and flash in PDA:
http://goo.im/devs/invisiblek/i535/...535VZWALG1_743127_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.zip
Having so many files fail with an Odin flash makes me think the error is caused by something else, though...

What else could it be?

Honestly, we've reached the limit of my experience. Must issues with Odin result from the physical connection. I know you tried different cords and different ports. I assume you're doing this, but make sure your usb cable is plugged into a port on the motherboard, not a hub or remote port.
I honestly don't know what the next step is... Reinstall drivers and Odin?

Upgraded to a Verizon S3 today, store upgraded it to 4.1.2, cannot root

Hi all,
Today I upgraded from a Thunderbolt to an S3, and before I even left the store the guy was upgrading to the latest version of 4.1.2 which came out a few days ago.
I've been following this tutorial, which is basically the same as all the other tutorials - install Samsung USB drivers on Windows machine, download CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar and use ODIN 3.04 or 1.85 to flash while in download mode.
I've done all that, and when I use either version of ODIN, I get the following:
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/004>
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I don't even get a green light in 3.04 - just a blue light. In 1.85 I get a yellow light.
I see this on my phone:
SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery
I see this on the phone's screen twice, as I tried to flash it with ODIN 3.04 and 1.85.
Any ideas? Could this be a direct result of the most recent software update?
Thanks in advance for any light shed on this issue.

Just as an added note, always make sure you do an MD5 check on anything you are about to flash in Odin.

Clockworkmod Recovery Will Not Download

I am trying to download the Clockworkmod Recovery via Odin and it consistently fails. I have check many threads and cannot find a solution!
-Phone: Samsung Galaxy SIII SCH-1535
-Carrier: Verizon
-Odin: Tried using 3.07 and 3.04
-Clockworkmod: At first I was using a .tar file or version 5.0.2.8, then I tried using a .tar.md5 version of the same. Then I tried using a .tar.md5 version of 6.0.1.0.
-I am running Windows 7
The results in Odin are as follows:
-PDA checked and file loaded
-Options: Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time
Odin 3.07:

On my phone, it reads: SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery
Edit:
History...I had Clockworkmod installed previously.
I was downloading CyanogenMod from Rom Manager and it bricked. I unbricked it with
VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5
BOOTLOADER_I535VRALF2_618049_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.md5
stock.vzw_root66.7z.torrent
Updated to Jellybean 4.04
Stumped.
After unbricking your phone, did you unlock the bootloader again? It needs to be unlocked to flash custom recovery.

Are you sure you are flashing correct firmware and the latest version?
Yes, I'm trying to flash G930TUVS2APB8

What was the solution? I'm having this issue as well
Try going into recovery and factory reset(wipe data)
It got fixed by using my pc rather than my laptop (had same drivers installed so no idea)
Also downloaded the absolute latest firmware from sammobile and latest Odin
Hope you can fix your problem man.
Note: if it doesnt let you flash stock I read that it may be because you're trying to flash something older, by default you cannot downgrade on s7

Have you tried the non-modded version?
I'd have used that first
ODIN 3.12.3 or newer

IT WORKS!
I downloaded this file
USC-G930R4TYU4BQK3-20171221083318.zip
Wish I knew where I got it from but now my phone is actually turning on!
There was a loading screen iv never seen before thought it show
Installing applications with a black bar then smart switch popped up and the bar was filled instantly with yellow lol iv just never seen this screen before from
past uses of any Samsung device.
Good stuff, just be cautious with that model S7, it's a snapdragon meaning much more difficult to unbrick if you brick it as the bootloader is locked

Its really buggy the OS itself. Its slower the normal idk if its just because of how fresh it is like the flash maybe just give it time?

Did you factory reset after the flash (or use CSC to force the reset)?
I'd reset it, it should be pretty smooth after maybe 5 mins of first boot
