SD card problem - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys!
I have strange problem, see I have 2 sd cards, one inside my htc hd 2 (gb) and one in tf300. I just reflashed rom back to CROMI (I have tried hydro by seanz) and tablet cant load my sdcard.
Its kinda weird because, when Im in TWRP, I can see the sd card and files on it. The card works without any problems on my htc and on my laptop. I have tried to format it to FAT32, exFAT and tablet cant load it. I have tried to put sd card from my htc to tablet and this one runs pretty much normally.
Well, if one card wasnt 4gigs, and the other one 32gigs I would just swap them and be done, but this is strange and Im not sure why its behaving like this.
Does anyone have some tip? Thanks

you didnt happen to remove any system app apks did you? i removed a bunch once and experienced same issue.
However if you didnt remove any system apps. Then i would first suggest using minitool partition wizard and format the SD card FAT32 as a primary partition. Then use windows to format it exFAT (its better to use but TWRP and CWM dont see the sd card then) but its worth it cause then you can store files greater than 4 gb on the SD card. Or just stick with FAT32 to eaches own lol.
If still a no go, try flashing the ROM again.

hey mate thanks for replying no Im sure I didnt remove any system apks. Im not sure where was the problem, but I did restore my backup and now everything is fine as usual. Since it was really simple to solve this issue, I apologize that I didnt try this before I posted, but it never ocured to me that this issue could be solved by reflash since different sd card was runing without flaw.
Anyway thank you for participating and for your time

+1 elesbb's post!
Note:
Using an sdcard in another unit can cause strange issues including not being able to boot.
Even going from rom to rom can sometimes cause problems with leftover files.
Format as suggested in pc and use in one unit only unless you reformat.

[Q] SD Card Error

So I had rooted my phone no problem, been using it for over 2 months now. Again, no problem what so ever. I've just installed CM7 on my mytouch 4g slide and noticed a lot of bugs that still needed to be worked out. so I wiped my phone clean and restored it to an earlier date. After I did that, my sd card has been giving me an error as stated "SD card blank or unsupported filesystem." I've tried formatting it, other SD cards and nothing works. is there anyone that can help?!
i wouldn't know how that happened to your sdcard, but when you say you tried formatting it, how did you format it? i once got an sdcard from an ebay purchase, and it gave me that very same message and was unusable(and formatting it with the phone wasn't working). i made it usable by formatting it with a program called SDFormatter, which i downloaded free for Windows. took a montrously long time for the format, but once it was done, the sdcard was fine.
that sucks that you seem to have lost all your stuff tho?
Try flashing a different ROM. The CM7 we have is still in alpha. Give Team Douche time to work out the bugs.
the problem doesn't seem to be the SD card. because all the data was still there. I tried using another SD card thinking maybe that was the problem but it gave me the same error.
I've already factory reset my phone and its still showing the same problem
Could be dust in the SD card slot or some other debris. Try a little bit of compressed air..

I installed the SDFormatter program you mentioned and formatted my wife's 16gig card. Prior to the format the card wouldn't mount in either of our phones and very sporadically on the PC. Now the card will mount without a problem and is usable again.
Thanks bud,

Can't mount SD Card in CWM - Searched already!

Hey guys, I need help.
After countless hours of stressing over my SD Card, I still can't get it to mount. I even went downtown to get a new one. I have a Motorola XOOM.
Problem is, I can't even get adb to work cause I can't access usb debug, because I wiped data hoping to re-install the rom. Now I'm still in CWM with nothing to do.
What could it be that's causing my SD Card's to not mount? There was one SD Card that mounted but that's not here right now. Would it be the SD Cards? I reformatted them to FAT32 as well.
Go here see if you can find some solution, search.... the search is a powerful tool, thank you sir.

It happens some time
I have two sd cards
One of them shows in recovery mode other is not mounting though both works great in device for other stuff..
I think its due to lack of some files on them after i use the second card for one week in my device for now they both mounts in recovery.
So what you have to do is use your card in some other android phone for some time..
Installed one or two app on it etc.
Then try again
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.

Very Very Very Strange SD Card Problem

My SD card is in one or another way corrupt, I think. The system apps won't read the SD card. It's very strange, because I can browse the whole card on my computer and in ES File Explorer too. The Camera app can store images captured with the device, but not view them ...
I've tried to fix it with flashing ViperS 1.3.5 over my ROM again without wiping to see if there were any corrupted systemfiles, but no. That didn't work. So I mounted the SD card to my PC and backed it up, re-partitionated it and copied the backup back to the SD card. Still, the same problem is there. So I rebooted my phone into Recovery (4ext), tried to fix the permissions from there, and nothing worked. I checked the partition aligment and it showed me that the Fat32 partition was not perfectly aligned. So I deleted all partitions from the SD card using recovery (Fat32 and Ext4) and re-partitionated it from there, both Fat32 and Ext4.
Then, I tested the partition aligment and it showed me that both partitions was perfectly aligned. I rebooted and hoped it should work now, but no.
So this is pretty frustrating. Is the WHOLE SD card corrupt or something? My phone manages to load all my apps from the Ext4 partition, so I don't think that's the problem.
PLEASE!!! HELP!!!!!
The problem seem to have fixed itself ...! It's very strange, because almost every time I'm starting new [Q] Threads, the phone fixes itself... Strange -.- But, can someone tell me what caused the problem if it appears again?

Very strange I'm not sure what the issue was. I know with my SD card it showed corrupt or damaged SD but yet ran perfectly on my card reader.I formatted on my computer but still said damaged card. so I figured I needed to format through recovery yet when I tried to go to recovery it would say SD card needed. So I ended up pulling battery And getting into recovery that way then I was able to format. After I formatted from recovery the card was once more able to be detected and the error message stopped. It is a 64 gig. Maybe somehow your card wasn't formatting correctly. But how it fixed itself is very strange. I know in my case I thought I had a bad or damaged card because it kept saying damaged and was not able to be recognized because it needed to be correctly formatted even though I'd formatted it on the computer before hand. Maybe in your case it was an issue like that? Not sure but glad you got your issue fixed. SD cards can be touchy sometimes. In my case I had to format twice before it was recognised.

Dude, I'm going to get you to post threads about my problems too and see if they miraculously cure!
Maybe you should make a thread about a problem with you bank account because it doesn't have $10,000,000 in it! See if that's suddenly fixed. hahaha
As for the SD Card, did it suddenly work right after a reboot? Anyway I agree with Realsis. You can probably cure this problem for good by formatting the SD card, even if it's working now. Just save the contents to your computer first so you don't lose everything.

[Q] 64gb sdxc not working

I've tried formatting the sdxc-card in so many ways now. Using both diskpart. minitool partition wizard, sdformatter and easeus partition manager.
Tried using FAT32, exFat and NTFS. None of them works. When using exFat the card is recognized and the phone asks if I want to format, but nothing happens after it says it's erasing the sd card.
The card works perfectly fine in Windows formatted as exFat.
I'm running stock ICS 4.0.4 if it helps to know.
I also have a friend who is using a 64gb sdxc card on the same type of phone.
Which version he's using I do not know.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

I thought, the Desire S can work with up to 32GB sd-cards. I've read it many times on different web-sites.

So I've read also, but since my friend is using a 64GB without a hitch it should work. Unless it's only possible when using a custom rom? For a short period I managed to get the phone to see the card and report all 64GB, but then it was unmounted. Managed to do this using a certain cluster size as exFat if I remember right.

You could ask your friend, the correct model of the SD-Card, and buy the one he also has, or test his one and see, if it's related with your hardware or not. I'm still a bit noob, so, you'll better also hear opinions by other XDA members.
Might have found the issue
I downgraded from ice cream sandwich to gingerbread(?) 2.3.3 while I at the same time rooted the phone and set the bootloader to s-off.
Now the phone itself has managed to format the card and recognize ~62GB/64GB. I successfully formatted it using cwm too and the phone still recognizes it. At the moment I'm partitioning the sdxc-card with a higher cluster size since it was really really slow when I tried to copy a file from windows. Note that it's a class 10 card.
Appears to be a problem with ICS. If anyone else can confirm this we're set here I think.

Ok, the good news is, you made the phone to recognize it! That's really good, taking into account that reviews said it's only capable of having up to 32GB standard SD-card.

Formatting the card as FAT32 with a primary and active partition is the only way I can get the card to be recognized.
But as soon as I try to copy something to the card it gets removed and unusable again.
Could there be a need for several partitions? One primary and one logical perhaps?
I've changed to flinnys version of CM10.1 build 22 called andromadus (jelly bean) which at a couple of times reported the card as damaged.
Tips on software for checking and possibly fixing a damaged one?

sdcard problem

Hello guys! I have a huge problem! Every time I insert a sdcard on my 4.4.2 KitKat tablet it stuck and then after a minute it reboots...... Does anyone know how to fix this?
Are you rooted.
Or the sd card is of more size than what ypur debice can support.
If you are rooted then what last thing you did before that **** happened
i can do any thing except damaging your device. GOD DOES NOT DO THAT
It sounds like a hardware problem, try another sd card and see if you get the same result.

The device detects the sd card insertion so sd card is correct. But its a software problem
It looks like that to me
