So I had rooted my phone no problem, been using it for over 2 months now. Again, no problem what so ever. I've just installed CM7 on my mytouch 4g slide and noticed a lot of bugs that still needed to be worked out. so I wiped my phone clean and restored it to an earlier date. After I did that, my sd card has been giving me an error as stated "SD card blank or unsupported filesystem." I've tried formatting it, other SD cards and nothing works. is there anyone that can help?!
i wouldn't know how that happened to your sdcard, but when you say you tried formatting it, how did you format it? i once got an sdcard from an ebay purchase, and it gave me that very same message and was unusable(and formatting it with the phone wasn't working). i made it usable by formatting it with a program called SDFormatter, which i downloaded free for Windows. took a montrously long time for the format, but once it was done, the sdcard was fine.
that sucks that you seem to have lost all your stuff tho?
Try flashing a different ROM. The CM7 we have is still in alpha. Give Team Douche time to work out the bugs.
the problem doesn't seem to be the SD card. because all the data was still there. I tried using another SD card thinking maybe that was the problem but it gave me the same error.
I've already factory reset my phone and its still showing the same problem
Could be dust in the SD card slot or some other debris. Try a little bit of compressed air..

I installed the SDFormatter program you mentioned and formatted my wife's 16gig card. Prior to the format the card wouldn't mount in either of our phones and very sporadically on the PC. Now the card will mount without a problem and is usable again.
Thanks bud,

My SD was acting a fool (after deleting many ROMs, it still said I had 73MB free). Nothing I did would change it so I decided to format the card. I used Disk Utility (on Mac) and formatted for FAT32. After I did that, my phone said it was in a format it couldn't recognize, so I formatted it from the phone itself. Now, when I enter recovery and attempt to install zip from sdcard, then choose zip from sdcard, it says "E:Can't mount /sdcard". I don't really know what to do, as I formatted it from my phone. I figured that was sure fire but I guess not so much. I tried to find what format I need the SD card in to work properly but I couldn't find anything.
Can someone help me out?
Fat32 is correct for the phone. Do you have a usb reader for the sdhc microsdcard or one of those sdcards that let the microsd card fit in to read it from the pc?

Reboot in recovery, if it says it can't mount it... pop out the sd from your phone and pop it right back in and see if it works. No need to mess with mount points for it either.
Also, did you check if your lost.dir folder is taking up space? Sometimes that thing can get big.
Could have been a bad flash, try to flash it again. I know I had a problem when I bought a new sd card. You can also try to flash it from a different phone. Otherwise, if you have access to a pc, I can tell you how to format it from the command line, which is, in my opinion, better to do if you're having a problem with the quick format that the phone does.

Sounds like what i did one day when i wanted to wipe everything so i did including formatting my SD card through recovery. so it left me with nothing on my phone including a bootable rom! lol. if this is the case with you. Here is what i had to do. Download a new rom to my PC then plug my phone into my PC via USB/ Boot into recovery/ Mount storage/ Mount SD card/ Copy the Rom to SD card then Flash the Rom. Not too sure if this helps, I hope it does, again it sounds like the same problem i had.
Sometimes SD cards break...for some reason they will just stop working, probably due to manufacturing techniques. My old 256mb card went bad, I just tossed it yesterday as a matter of fact. it had no name brand. I still have a 4gb pny that works perfectly and a SanDisk 32gb which also works great. If you do have to get a new SD card, I would recommend getting the highest class you can afford highest out the right now I believe is C10. That will increase your transfer speeds....both of my current cards are class4 and it can take a little bit of time to transfer gigs of data between the phone and computer. If you have any other device that can accept the "card" put it in there and check if it can send and receive data/ format to proper disk size, if not then your card is broken.
Once you go class 10 you don't look back lol

So I've been looking around for help on this across various sites and I've had no luck fixing my problem.
I'm running the most recent CM10 nightlies, which I read might influence which formats the phone can read, and even after I formatted the card to FAT32 via the gui app and easeUS partition editor my phone still says my card is damaged. When I try to format it it just says "unmounting card" with the spinning circle and sits there, never unmounting and formatting like it wants to. I tried to mount/unmount and format in CWM, no dice. This card is brand new out of the package today so there's been no previous use or problems.
Am I just going to be unable to use this card while running CM10, would I have to go back to a TW ROM or stock to make it read correctly? It will show up on my computer when I plug it in and files transfer to it fine so I figure it's a problem on the phone's side. My old 16gb card from my DX works fine and that's what I'll use in the meantime but the space is dangerously low, hence why I jumped on this 64gb card when it was an Amazon deal.
If anyone has some insight or experience with this I'd really appreciate it, I'm guessing it's a problem with CM10 or I missed some tiny step somewhere but I've tried a lot and had no success.

What exactly is the partition editor you used, and why? The GUI program to format it to fat32 is sufficient...
I would guess either it's the card(what brand btw?) or the partition editor.

It's the "SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQUA-064G-U46A", I've noticed a lot of GS3 owners have been buying something similar or the same.
I used EaseUS Partition Master as well as the fat32 gui program that's been circulating, sounds like you know the one, and while the format was successful the phone still sees the card as damaged and won't completely unmount the card when I try to format it like it says.
You try formatting it on a windows computer

That's there exact same card I got. Format it again with the gui but DON'T use the partition program. I guarantee that's what is messing you up.

Did you use the sd adapter to plug into the computer or you did it while it was inserted in the phone already? I did the latter, idk if buying an sd slot to usb would change anything.
I am having the same problem. I thought I had a bad card, so I sent it back. Now I am searching for a solution as well. I will give this a try later tonight.

Ah ok, looks like I'll have to buy an sd-usb plugin then.
Had the same issue on two different cards and eventually they said that they were an unsupported raw format. Called sandisk and they said there are a lot of issues with the 64gb class 10 cards and the SGSIII. I am on my third one. This one has been working almost perfectly. I often get a unmounting remounting issue with the card, but I am not blaming the card yet as ever since I flashed the cracked aboot I have been having odd issues. I am going to put my phone back to stock and start over here today or tomorrow.

I fixed it
I bought a multi-SD plug-in with USB, slid my card in there, ran the gui on the card, put the card back in my phone and it worked fine, the phone recognizes it. For whatever reason the card didn't want to format while it was in the phone despite my manipulations, so plugging the SD into the computer is crucial I think.
Thanks for the support guys.
I have done everything described here, and still have what the OP says. Card is not recognized, like its not even plugged in to the phone, is formatted as FAT32 and works in windows.

Well, I literally fought this for 3 hours, and finally I just deleted the entire partition and formatted the card in the stock ROM. Then I pulled the card and formatted with EaseUS partitioner as FAT32 and put it back in and it worked. Then I flashed back to CM10 and it still works.
How frustrating this is....
Hey guys, I need help.
After countless hours of stressing over my SD Card, I still can't get it to mount. I even went downtown to get a new one. I have a Motorola XOOM.
Problem is, I can't even get adb to work cause I can't access usb debug, because I wiped data hoping to re-install the rom. Now I'm still in CWM with nothing to do.
What could it be that's causing my SD Card's to not mount? There was one SD Card that mounted but that's not here right now. Would it be the SD Cards? I reformatted them to FAT32 as well.
Go here see if you can find some solution, search.... the search is a powerful tool, thank you sir.

It happens some time
I have two sd cards
One of them shows in recovery mode other is not mounting though both works great in device for other stuff..
I think its due to lack of some files on them after i use the second card for one week in my device for now they both mounts in recovery.
So what you have to do is use your card in some other android phone for some time..
Installed one or two app on it etc.
Then try again
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
My SD card is in one or another way corrupt, I think. The system apps won't read the SD card. It's very strange, because I can browse the whole card on my computer and in ES File Explorer too. The Camera app can store images captured with the device, but not view them ...
I've tried to fix it with flashing ViperS 1.3.5 over my ROM again without wiping to see if there were any corrupted systemfiles, but no. That didn't work. So I mounted the SD card to my PC and backed it up, re-partitionated it and copied the backup back to the SD card. Still, the same problem is there. So I rebooted my phone into Recovery (4ext), tried to fix the permissions from there, and nothing worked. I checked the partition aligment and it showed me that the Fat32 partition was not perfectly aligned. So I deleted all partitions from the SD card using recovery (Fat32 and Ext4) and re-partitionated it from there, both Fat32 and Ext4.
Then, I tested the partition aligment and it showed me that both partitions was perfectly aligned. I rebooted and hoped it should work now, but no.
So this is pretty frustrating. Is the WHOLE SD card corrupt or something? My phone manages to load all my apps from the Ext4 partition, so I don't think that's the problem.
PLEASE!!! HELP!!!!!
The problem seem to have fixed itself ...! It's very strange, because almost every time I'm starting new [Q] Threads, the phone fixes itself... Strange -.- But, can someone tell me what caused the problem if it appears again?

Very strange I'm not sure what the issue was. I know with my SD card it showed corrupt or damaged SD but yet ran perfectly on my card reader.I formatted on my computer but still said damaged card. so I figured I needed to format through recovery yet when I tried to go to recovery it would say SD card needed. So I ended up pulling battery And getting into recovery that way then I was able to format. After I formatted from recovery the card was once more able to be detected and the error message stopped. It is a 64 gig. Maybe somehow your card wasn't formatting correctly. But how it fixed itself is very strange. I know in my case I thought I had a bad or damaged card because it kept saying damaged and was not able to be recognized because it needed to be correctly formatted even though I'd formatted it on the computer before hand. Maybe in your case it was an issue like that? Not sure but glad you got your issue fixed. SD cards can be touchy sometimes. In my case I had to format twice before it was recognised.

Dude, I'm going to get you to post threads about my problems too and see if they miraculously cure!
Maybe you should make a thread about a problem with you bank account because it doesn't have $10,000,000 in it! See if that's suddenly fixed. hahaha
As for the SD Card, did it suddenly work right after a reboot? Anyway I agree with Realsis. You can probably cure this problem for good by formatting the SD card, even if it's working now. Just save the contents to your computer first so you don't lose everything.
So, about the problem. All was fine untill a few hours ago. My note 10 notified me that my SD card is corrupted. OK, no biggie, lets just take it out and put it back in. Worked before, but not today.
Tried the same SD card in my laptop, worked without any problem. I'm feeling trolled. Next i tried with otg sd card adapter. It says "no supported partition was found".
Next, tried another SD card, still nothing. Tried that one with otg - bam, works. So, it's not card that's bad. Tried another one, was empty so i formatted it on phone. Nope - still corrupted. No matter how many times i formatted it, it's always corrupted.
But it works on laptop. All 3 of them work on laptop. Two of them i can see with otg, the one that was all the time in the phone says no supported partition.
Then i thought, maybe the sd reader in phone broke. Rebooted to recovery and guess what? First SD card that showed corrupted message works just fine in recovery. Now, one reset to factory setting would probably solve the problem but i have tons of apps that i'd need to backup and no space to do it because my sd card ain't showing in OS.
All i wanna know is am i doomed to reseting android or is there any trick i could use to avoid that?
Copy all things on your pc,format the SD Card in the Phone and copy all Things back to SD Card
nope, didn't work. had to reflash OS
