[MOD][LAUNCHER] TouchWiz 4.0 from SGSII [EDT][5.11.2011]

Hello everyone! Here is something new for you all to play with. This is the TouchWiz 4.0 Launcher on the SGSII for KC1 and KD1. THIS WILL ONLY WORK WITH MY DEODEXED BUILDS. Download the respective zip for your build and flash through clockworm mod recovery (you read me right!). The KC1 version CAN be flashed over the lockscreen mod from my other thread.

KNOWN ISSUES
~ Launcher will FC on reboot
~ All Samsung widgets do not work

Flashed without issue. 1 FC I think it was due to only having 3 home screens and and not setting in preferences. once I changed it to 3 Badda Bing no FC. THANK YOU WHITEHAWKS TOUCHWIZ 4.0 IS SICK!!!!!

It seems the orientation landscape in preferences is causing the force close. Turned it on and it would FC, turn it off all is good.

Make sure you're running my dedoexed build. This will NOT work on the official T-mobile release.

Great Job Whitehawkx! another great release! keep up the great work. Not sure if I want TW4 because i use the other launchers out there.

How would i flash this through CWM recovery... i thought it wasnt working yet....

To my understanding the only thing not working is restoring /system. You can flash stuff through it np.

Oh, so to install this i would just have to put it in root of sd, then go to flash from sd, choose and flash it? ( do i need to wipe anything?)

Flashed with cwm and running fine. I like this version of tw much better. It's less Iphoney--It doesn't have those colored boxes behind the app icons in the app drawer. It also seems to be pretty snappy.
I will probably use this for my main launcher which I am surprised to say about a version of TW...lol. Great job on this!

Download to sdcard and then boot into cwm and look for install zip from sdcard, not the flash update.zip option. U will see your sdcard file layout find the file u downloaded and install. Hope this helps. Also when u reboot hit home and go to preferences and uncheck Landscape. It was causing force close on me everytime.

Is anyone who flashed this having an issue where the phone reboots by itself? I'm using KD1.
It's either this or the new CW mod. Andi can't seem to figure out what is causing it.

it was cwm i was having the same issue. Krylon fixed it. just go redownload

I noticed issues if I tried to use more than 5 icons on the dock. Also get a black screen if I use my samsung desk home app. Not a big deal but only happens with sgs 4g not my vibrant both running tw 4.
Love tw 4.... never thought I would see love and touch wiz together.

Hmm. I reflashed KD1 and installed.beta 3 cw again, and it still keeps rebooting constantly. Im lost. When i get home i guess i could try odin.
Does anyone have any advice?

[ROM] [Cyanogenmod] BASIK (5/9/2012)

I AM OFFICIALLY ABANDONING THIS ROM. It is already mostly working and has very little difference from regular CM7. You can still feel free to download it though.

Note: the messaging app might fail to send any messages. To fix this, go to settings -> applications -> manage applications -> all -> messaging -> clear data. Then restart your device.

A few tweaks and the standard Android launcher. Planning on doing more, but this is it so far.

J just flashed this rom. Last night and I'm having trouble with the market. I can't download anything due to an error I seen this before. All I had to do to fix it force close and clear data.... I did this several times and nothing. I also restarted the phone couple time and nothing. And I get that annoying Google talk notification that it's trying to connect or whatever. I don't even use that app how can I stop that and fix the market.....I flashed the 201108 something gapps...

I've been running CM7 for quite a while and it's been my daily since I am fed up with Sense and memory hogs. Been SENSEless for a while now... so I might give this one a try when I see a bit more development. I DO like the stock launcher instead of another software layer...
Just asking... would this be considered a KANG? Please enlighten me.

Tried that a lot of time and rebooting and wwiping cache and delvik and flashing other gapps

I have not seen this issue before, even with several re-flashes of the ROM. Go back to the recovery, wipe everything but the SD card and flash both files again. Might be your data connection. Can you specify this error or even better send us screen caps of it? Just hold power button and tap Screenshot.

I am using CM7 as a base and have left a large portion of its features in it, so for right now, maybe, but it shouldn't be in the future.

For the market errors, try going into language and keyboard, select any other English language. Open market then close the market. Go back into language and select united states English again. This was recommended and it worked for me. Also, adding an additional Gmail account was recommended as well. Good luck.

There is really only one GB AOSP rom other than CM that can't be considered a kang in one way or another. That's SalvageMod. Really there is no shame in the kang, so long as the dev gives proper creds. (Which he did) I have a couple here in dev section myself.

Help with mms.apk

Hi everyone, today I was updating my SKY ICS 4.2E ROM with the latest update, I followed all the steps (it's been a while since Im doing this) and finished, I assumed everything went fine and continued using my phone. later i found out that the MMS.apk was missing and tried to reinstall it but never could. I also tried reinstalling the update but it didn't worked. so here Im asking for a little help, Thanks in advance.

Messaging isn't in Gapps.
OP, SkyICS uses Samsung's messaging apk so your best bet is going to be to re-install the base. I am attaching the MMS.apk from the SkyICS base, so you can try dropping that in \system\apps\; don't forget to change the permissions.

Thanks, I did that but it didn't worked either, but went to the play store and looked for the ICS message app and installed ;D it was that simple all the time, thanks everybody.

Before you reflash
Go to settings-> Applications-> all -> and scroll ALL THE WAY to the end of the list. See if it is disabled.
This happened on mine, just renable and was good to go.

I've had notification issues with that app; double-check that you're getting all your text notifications before you close the book on this. Otherwise, great app if you prefer the AOSP look, which I do.

It looks good, actually I don't mind how it looks as long as it works. thanks for the help everybody.

This is the only one of the ICS roms that caused trouble. installed with tiny fonts, on reboot it went into bootloops, and I had to reinstall from stock. Everything was wiped before installation.

It has tiny font cause I set its density to 200dpi by default - cause its given me best experience , if u dont like it, u can set the build.prop, at the density line to 240 and everythig should be ok (or flash another font I provided to have thicker font...other than that, I have no issues except ones from OP

I had no problems with installation. I experienced slight lag while scrolling apps, but I'm sure the Rom just needed to cook some more before I started messing with stuff lol. I loved the tiny font, the settings menu scrolls like butter and the response time for bringing up the multitask menu is amazingly fast.

Really really nice rom!!! Love the message app.

Read the changelog in OP bro...it fixed FC of galaxy s 4g advance settings (TV out)...read the OP carefully as I always provide all stuff there

a few times a day typically - so its just me experiencing this, eh?

@MatisyahuSerious haven't had that problem. I deleted all my music but i tried test tones for ya. No error though the test is only 5 seconds.
Does it stop in the middle or at the begining?
Could be a corrupt file?
And as for the lag in the app drawer I mentioned earlier, haven't had the problem since i jumped back into the rom.

I am loving the rom however It is not allowing me to download a lot of my apps from the playstore. I recently wanted to load my lose it app but it tells me that my device is not supported. What does the play store see the phone as? Thank you in advance.

Edit build.prop and change dpi to 240 or you might be able to do it from the actual settings menu.

That's weird because I thought I would have issues with the dpi and the Play Store but I do not. I wonder why others have it

Yep. Been staring at the CM9 bootscreen for about 10 minutes. I'll give it a few more before I pull the plug. Could be that using the buid.prop and updater-script from Rem ICS is causing some issues. lol
EDIT: It booted. Give me a few to play and I'll update.
Update: No launcher. TW is not playing nice. Most likely because of the CM base. Pull down notifications work but that's about it. Rebooted fixed perms now stuck watching CM bootscreen again.

Pop out your sdcard. Sounds crazy but it might work.
