[Q] How do I raise CPU float score in Antutu? - HTC Sensation

Hello, I'm a very very minor script kiddie that came from Samsung Galaxy W.
I changed my phone to this baby earlier today.
I am using ARHD, with custom Faux kernel.
But it seems that I can never make CPU Float Score ever reach above 1k and in posts I see there are people with 2k+.
Any one can help me out a little?
I even tried overclocking but it just wont get any higher.
If you are okay, share your Antutu score too!

[q] nexus s quadrant score 4,400!!!

hi guys!
ive been a week trying different roms and using different kernel OC and I could not get more than 3.400 to 1.4 ghz on "quadrant advance program. " install the ROM last night "infin1ty 1.0.0 RC | AOSP | Netarchy 1.3.0.6" ( 1.4 ghz) with the curious fact that descrption says: • IO Quadrant tweak with this rom achievements to 4.400 in quadrant. attached image to see I'm not lying. if anyone knows I need to do to make this happen with other roms, please let me know. I would like to know the reason for this. does anyone happen? excuse my English!
What the "partition hack" does is creating a separate partition in phone memory to trick quadrant to think that it is running the read/write test on SD card while it is actually reading/writing to phone memory thus results in unusually high I/O score.
This hack does not improve the speed of the phone or anything, it's just for showing off to your friends
If you really want to do it, just search for "quadrant hack" and I'm sure you'll find it. (on my phone now so it's not very convenient to find the link for you)
I'm running infin1ty too. But I've overclocked it to 1.3ghz. My score is 3790.
If you want your best score re-run Quadrant several times in a row without exiting the app. Last night on a fresh load of CM7 nightly without overclocking or hacking I was able to hit over 2600.
Cm7 with matrix kernel
My best score was 4536 with quadrant.
I has a 12,000,0000 quadrant on my mogul back in the day.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
mine broke once it hit 9000
sorry to burst bubbles. quadrant really means nothing. it just compares stock phones vs other stock phones at there current state. not am
4539 on mine!
My best was a 4595

[Q] Overclocking doesn't seem to work...?

I have used Weapon G2x R1 and RG2X MIUI, both with the latest Faux overclocking kernel. I have used both SetCPU and CPU Master. Both apps gain super user access and seem to be functioning properly... however whenever I run the benchmark apps, the results don't seem to be any different when I have the CPU set at 1ghz or 1.5ghz.... it's the same results across both OC apps and ROMs.
The phone doesn't seem to get warm as most people report when overclocking, nor is there any stability issues.
Underclocking does seem to work.
I know quadrant scores don't mean much, but I would certainly expect there to be a difference between the scores at 1ghz and 1.5ghz. The score ranges between 2200 and 3000, but never over 3000.
There isn't any other apps installed on the phone other than what comes with the ROMs.
Am I missing something or is it an inability for my specific CPU to be overclocked?
Thanks in advance.
Try Antutu Benchmark instead. It'll show the frequency at the bottom while testing.
Sent from my amazing LG G2x running Bionix Reloaded v1.4.1
I will give it a try, thanks. I will report results after.
Thanks, the_king13, it would seem the benchmark app I was using wasn't incredibly detailed in the results.
The Antutu Benchmark app shows some pretty big performance differences when I change between the frequencies.
Thanks!
Glad to be of help. Happy overclocking!

[Discussion][Perseus Kernel][GT-I9500]

To keep Andrei from going crazy with non-development related questions, I've opened the following thread. That way we keep the development thread for development topics and this for general discussion.
Good deal.
First feature request: Fading in/out LEDs! I've pinged the dev for LightFlow, and while he can implement it on a software level, it would be supremely inefficient and probably drain the battery like crazy.

Actually that's something which belongs in the dev thread. If anything you can just post on the issue tracker on Github, I've grown vary of XDA.
There's a new TI LED controller so I can't port the old Philips controls from the old phones. I'll rewrite it eventually but I got other things to do now.

Done, posted on Github!
just got my s4 one day ago. rooted immediately, flashed omega7.0 and the latest perseus. did not touch anything on the u/v in stweak. no o/c as well. but the antutu score is so low 21000+, i thought it at least supposed to be 27000+?
i tried adam kernel, had the same result. is that normal? did i miss anything?

thanks for you response. as i mentioned i got it only one day, without touching anything on u/v & o/c. i guess this is considered lower score than the stock one? i merely care about bench mark, i just want to know is this normal? or i need few days to let it settle down? fyi, i tried more than 10 times and it only score between 20k-21k. perhaps you can be kind enough to give me some idea rather than congrats me.

It is normal for benchmark to be lower than on stock kernel all devices differ. Following the development of this kernel it has been stated that the kernel is not intended for high benchmarks but more for overall stability, smoothness and better battery life.
Benchmarks is just a number and a high benchmark does not always mean your phone is smooth and performs very well under normal user conditions.
Hope this answers your question and should I be mistaken about anything anyone welcome to rectify me on those points.

i never meant that perseus is running low on benchmark, in fact, it's the highest between chainfire's cfroot, wanam's adam. i tried all these 3 kernel, all score only between 19k-21k. i just wonder if i have accidentally limited my cpu speed? i will do a factory reset and re-test it.
again, i dont or merely care about benchmark, i just care if my s4 is running normally.

The first throttling speed is 1400MHz and that's why it spends a lot of time there during benchmarking.
Effectively, overclocking on this device makes very little sense unless you can achieve more thermal headroom with undervolting. I personally couldn't get over 1.8GHz on random loads, and couldn't get over 1.7GHz on benchmarking (Antutu 31300).
Nevertheless, the option is there for people who want to stick their phones into their freezers. For everybody else, stop being concerned about numbers.
This seems to affect only a rare number of people and I still don't know the cause. Just cycle the screen once and be done with it.

Low benchmark scores after franco kernel r33

i used to get around 32k in antutu and around 18k in quadrant before franco kernel r33 but now i am getting around 24k and 11k respectively i highlt doubt this is due to kernel (i didnt screw up anything (no custom roms nothing...)) can some confirm this ?? plzz

This bit is the only thing you should be caring about...
The 'score' is meaningless. Let it go, uninstall any benchmark apps and don't bother running a test ever again.
Put it this way...if you suddenly scored 234069823987693827469823764 after flashing a new kernel, but performance and battery actually got worse, which one would you prefer?

Hi,
Franciso explained that he had decreased the CPU temp limit before thermal throttling, that could explain your lower score (earlier thermal throttle)... Check also your max CPU freq.
Let cool down your phone before you run Antutu and see, or play with the thermal settings (raise a bit the CPU temp before thermal throttling, core also).
The user is in its right to know why he have a lower score in benches between two different version of a kernel, whatever if a bench is useful or useless... Obviously if all is smooth and run perfectly for you, it's the principal.
nexus 5 is high end device, benchmark score doesn't effect the performance of device using any kernel.
i never experience any lag on my nexus, i always get different score in antutu.
r32 I got around 32k with antutu now I get around 29k on r33 but battery life is so incredible I'm willing to sacrifice benchmark points useless in day to day use .... isn't benchmarking moslty about bragging?
thank you very much

Lower Benchmarks

Hey guys.
On my S8+ I got around 173K antutu score (all scores are in antutu form now on) after i finished setting it all up and with the same apps I have now.
After this I flashed jessie's kernel which OC's the exynos to 2.45 (if im not mistaken) and got from 181K to 182K scores.
Then i flashed CARhd Rom V3 and started getting from 163k to 165k on it's stock kernel and 167K on jessie's, still OC to 2.45. I noticed some performance issues, like lags when i had two apps running on multiscreen so I went back to stock rom, flashed by ODIN.
This said, The benchmarks i got on stock were 163K and with stock rom and jessie's kernel were 167K max.
One should not trust, nor care about benchmarks all that much, but I would like to know if any of you have any idea why i'm scoring 15K lower on the same config WITH A CLEAN INSTALL WITH THE SAME APPS. First answer that came to me was some KNOX bs, but it can not be, as the 182K i got before were on a non stock kernel with knox triggered.
The difference in the scores are, roughly 11K on UX and 3K on CPU. 3D and RAM are the same.
Thank you, guys

There are many reasons why scores can vary wildly. The main culprit is usually thermal throttling.
I'm running CarHD V4 and score 170k so don't worry about it, the phone is a beast.
I do get the phone is a beast, what confuses me is how it downscores 15K points and 11 of them are on User Experience (UX) on the same phone, same software, same apps after a format =/
On this rom i got this score, with this kernel i got this score, on another rom i got this score, and with that kernel i got this score... just go back to the config that got you the highest score, what's the problem?

The problem is that he went back to the configuration that have him the best score, but it's 15k lower for some reason.

Tests on all roms were conducted with the device rested for 10 minutes with no apps running and screen off so it would cool down.
The 182k was tested 4 times in a row, on which the differences maxed at 2k. Same for test 2 (car hd rom), that was conducted 2 days after I installed the rom.
Lastly, the back to settings 1 test was conducted yesterday with the same procedure aswell.
Today I got it to top out at 178k (stock rom, jesse kernel OC) using kernel control to lock all 8 CPU at max speed (2.45 and 1.69, for big and LITTLE), with it on the regular governor it is doing 175 overclocked to the before mentioned speeds.
I don't know what happened to it, but those 162k it first got were the same as when I turned on power saving mode whilst it was able to do 182K, which is odd and the first thing i checked was if it was on, which it wasn't.
All tests were conducted with 1080p screen, RAM cleared, Excess files erased, with everything turned off except for wifi so it can submit the score.
Like I said, benchmarks are worth what they are, and I only conducted antutu testing again because I was noticing a performance deficit. 175 (It's 4k higher than an OP5) is more than fine and I notice no more lags on daily usage.
For reference, it is scoring 2147 - single-core and 6569 multi-core on geekbench 4 aswell, which, in multicore, is 150 points lower than it was when it was doing 182 on antutu.
