JB - Best Battery - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi,
For those who have been using JellyBean roms as daily, which rom do you recommend priorizing battery life.
I read about slim, and jellybam, but I´m not sure which one to try, or if there´s anyone better.
Thanks!

I'd recommend you to you try the slim bean rom. I've tried both the jellybam as well as slim bean. It's pretty smooth. The unnecessary functions are removed and performance is pretty good. Besides, I'm on cm9 alpha14 now. It works the best for me. But slim bean works great with all the jb feeling.
Good luck

I´m also on CM9 alpha 14, with Kernel 11.
I like it, but I´d like to try Jellybean.
Should I wait for Kernel 3?

I am on CM10a4 plus updated apps 11 kernel and using Ds Battery Saver app. Battery lasts for a day and there is minimum loss in standby, drain is faster with data on.

I was using JellyBam + Alpha 11 v3 kernel for a few days, but after some time phone gets laggy. Tried crackerizer kernel too, but same thing.
I will try slim bean tomorrow and report :victory:

You may try slim bean if you want to. But i came back to cm9 as all cm10 roms are in alpha state. And one or the other day they're gonna give you some problems. I hate to flash my device and restore the backup many times. So I'm waiting for the kernel 3 to come. Then I'll go to a cm10 rom.

I think u should wait for kernel 3.0. I ws also reverted back from jb to gb(lf2).. bcs none of these jb roms r stable.. sometimes while using app/game it automatically reboots.. poor wifi signal..so it is better to wait..

broodROM Jellybean Release 3 is stable and smooth.
The battery life is also good (for me 2 - 2,5 days).
The rom get you here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171292
Kernel til 369 Mb have working 720p camera.
The best ROM
I prefered [ROM i9001][JB 4.2.2] Tiger v5 from4.04.2013. It has beautiful boot image, works perfectly, smooth and stable. I instaled on last Phenom Kernel 3.6+ You feel the power of it, all is working very quickly. Antutu gives 6700 when i tested phone with all my aplications installed on it. I'm very happy from this tundom - Tiger+Phenom. My previos system was Ehndroix II and further III, butr it always was liitle bugs, but that system is well looking, maybe i will came back to Ehndroix one day, it's very specias too for me..
There is no BEST rom and a search would have told you this.

Lightest Rom?

Hi.
My Nexus S is kinda slow now and it cam be embarrassing sometimes.
I only use my phone for Google music, Tunein radio, podcasts, email and basic internet.
I was looking the other day to see what was eating my memory up and I noticed things that I don't use any more like twitter apps and stuff that I will never use like Google play books and play movies.
I am rooted and using a tweaked kernel, but I'm still using stock ROM. I think this weekend that will change.
I'm not interested in overclocking, just a little bit more quickness and stability.
Can anyone recommend a good kernel and ROM combo.
Kernel must have voodoo sound.
Cheers.

If you want blazing fast rom try Metal Dragon Overlord, only drawback it's 4.1.2, if you want 4.2.2. rom try Hellybean or CM10.1 nightlies.
Pretty much every kernel's got voodoo sound so that's nothing to worry about.
Rom&kernel combo? - Metal Dragon Overlord, matr1x kernel.
Hi,
Initially I was looking forward to a 4.2.2. ROM but I have read comments about lag after a week or so of using those ROM's. So I may just stick with a 4.1.2. ROM.
Looking for something that I can flash and forgot, something very mature that I can keep on my phone for the next year without thinking about it or getting reboots. Don't want to be flashing a new version every day.
Cheers.

I have had my eye on Rasbean for many many months. I have heard many good things about it. I think I will try that first.
I already have Thalamus kernel running with my stock ROM. Tbh it isn't blazing fast, but I have never had any reboots at all, unlike my brief flirtation with Marmite many months ago.

This is the closest, or one of the closest, to a stock 4.2.2 ROM you can get and it's light, no bloatware. Also if you're using a 4.2.2 ROM, you these mods as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158329
It really increases your performance and doesn't affect battery.

A Stable rom with 4.1/4.2 (P3100) [request]

I currently use with the cyanogenmod 4.1 (Cyano 10) .. but it has many bugs, the tablet turns itself off, sometimes hangs .. That really leaves something to be desired .. then an application if any of you know of some friends rom with android 4.1 or 4.2 and that is stable, please let me know
- Thank you - Translated by google translator.
You can find many in the development forum .. Personally, I'd prefer CyanogenMod roms , it is stable and receive proper updates and continual developments. AOKP is awesome too .. Should give them a try. Sticking to stocks may be useful sometimes, but if so, we wouldn't be here in the first place
Anyway, I think the best thing is that you try almost everything and then decide by your own

Definitelly try Slimbean. You will be amazed how awesome it is. The last build has a little problem with maps aplication but there is a patch in slimbean thread that solves it. Rom is very stabble and smooth and the battery life is uncompareable to other roms i've tried. For P3100 it's the best non stock based rom that you can get I think(it's my on personal opinion).

Cyanogenmod 10.1 has problems with calling and head sets and stuff. Slim bean... I don't know. But pacrom fixes all of that.
Make sure you get the April 29 build and not the may 1st as it has some bugs.

Is there a stable and light rom?

Hi all!
I'm using an HTC One S, and I tried some different roms.
I tried Pacman, Paranoidandroid, but they're a little bit heavy and full of features I'll never use, and the battery doesn't last too much.
So I tried CodenameLungo, Slimroms and Carbon, and they're light and the battery use is amazing... but most of them are based on nightly release, and they're not stable. Sometimes they freeze, sometimes the sim card stop to work, sometimes I have to reboot 'cause wifi doesn't work...
And actually I'm looking for a stable and light rom... does it exist?
Waiting for any suggestion (except for Sense based rom, it's too heavy!).
Thanks a lot!

I'm using holo black bean 2.3. So far its been 100% stable for me over the past few weeks of heavy use. Most stable non sense ROM I've used. Not sure its as light as you want but the less features you use the faster the rom will likely be especially over time.

That's my advise, too. Almost vanilla Android. Latest stable for ville is 10.0 (4.1.2) and RC2 for 10.1 (4.2) is out.
Jengirl ... I've been a pure android guy since putting my old Diamond to rest. A couple of months ago, had finally had enough of Sprint, sold the Nexus S 4G, and picked up a One S for TMobile. Immediately installed CM10, and after a few weeks tried Code Lungo ... same as you, just had annoying little issues. Finally decided to run stock 4.1.1, but without all the unnecessary TMo bloat and with a stripped down, light version of Sense. Ever since, this sucker simply flies ... without any lag. What made the difference was Rom Cleaner, that I customized to meet my needs. By the way, in addition to being fast without lag ... everything works!
I'm also on holoblackbean 2.3 & this thing is stable & it flies. No complaints. I want to switch to Odyssey when this one gets buggy or it let's me down.... It never has.

Definitely can't confirm any reboots on odyssey. Try fresh install after 3x full wipe.... Running very smooth and stable here...
I've made the wipes but nothing has changed: I think it is a kernel instability problem

Why use a monthly snapshot when there are more stable release candidates available?
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
Best stable, light ROM for me after trying all ROM's is [ROM] SourcE v1.4 | Audio quality | Smooth | [Unsense MOD]
Everything works with just the right amount of mods, especially the sound mod is best for me. Until I can safely update firmware for 4.2.2 Sense 5 this is best ROM for stability.
Beanstalk gets my vote, CM based and very smooth

Because, in my experience, oddly enough the most recent RCs have actually been less stable than the snapshot release. :/

Here's a copy of my user text for Rom Cleaner. Using it will make the rom fly, while keeping the important parts of Sense (ie: great camera, etc).

which rom with better ram management?

i've used many mod rom but i've always foud some lag, freezes and reboot, using currently whatsapp, facebook, exdialer, gmail, outlook, swiftkey...
Which is a stable rom to use all that apps? or i have to return to 2.3.6 or Xenoxmod or other older rom?
Thanks.
Our phone is too old to handle many task in the same time. So you should kill some tasks and clean memory usual. Install app that what you badly need, don't install too much on that. You have to try through roms and have decide by yourself. Good luck!
