[Q] Peel smart remote on CyanogenMod 10.1 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello everyone!
very first post here on XDA, never really needed to ask a question in the past as I have always been able to find my answers by just searching but no luck this time. My question is in regards to CyanogenMod 10.1 official nightlies ROM, I installed this on my tablet last night and it works perfectly, the problem is that my tab is the P3113 and on the thread it states I need to use the build for P3110, because of this I cannot get the peel smart remote app to work anymore because it will not recognize that my tablet has the IR sensor built-in, can anyone help?
I really wish I could post this on the actual thread for the ROM but since I never post I dont have access to posting in the development forums yet...
EDIT*******
I just realized I put this on the wrong forum, could a mod please move this to Q&A for me?

The IR component is not supported by CyanogenMod. You'll notice the CM release is for the wifi-only P3110, not the IR-equipped P3113. Read more about it elsewhere in the forum or from CM directly here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/P3113_Info
"As the IR blaster is not supported in CyanogenMod for the P3113, it is essentially a P3110 as far as CM is concerned. Therefore, if you own a P3113, please use the p3110 CM builds for flashing. "

all I needed to know, thank you I really appreciate the help!

just use a stock based rom that is specific to the 3113 if the IR is something you want to use, most of the custom roms are CM based so if that's not supporting it there's not much hope until it does

Same problem here. Love the Cynmod but would really like peel working on P3113~

really, you couldn't find this in searching? this has only been covered about many times ANY ROM NOT BASED ON STOCK, including but not limited to CM, PA, AOSP, AOKP or any other non stock based ROM DOES NOT SUPPORT THEIR BLASTER AS SAMSUNG HAS NOT PUBLICLY RELEASED THE FILES NEEDED TO MAKE IT WORK.

I went with this one for now.

Rom it or stay calm and wait?

Hi guys,
I've the N8000 which cost me a fortune, still with the custom rom (4.1.1) but already rooted (with exynos apk exploit). I'm thinking to go forward with a CM10.1 rom, but I'm afraid. Can you answer to he following:
a) Does actual CM10.1 works with no troubles? Is S-Pen ok? And the phone works without any problems?
b) Where can I get the software and a tutorial to do so?
c) Multi windows and the bottom bar are working well on CM10.1.
Thank you in advance for your help. :good:
I was thinking the same a few hours ago and I found this:
With latest Android 4.2.2 you can expect much more stability and faster performance from your already-darn-fast tablet. Of course, you will lose any Samsung built-in features like multi-window, Smart Stay, and stuff like that so this isn’t for those of you who need that on a daily basis.

There are threads in the forum here that can answer all of your listed CM10.1 questions. You are probably going to have to read some long threads.
Truthfully in order to determine if you should go to a CM rom you need to do a self assessment.
What do you want to do on your tablet?
What do you currently do on your tablet?
Do you use the Samsung (s-pen) specific apps a lot currently?
Do you rely on Samsung specific features (such as multi window) a lot?
The s-pen works fine in CM10.1, but the samsung specific apps do not. CM10 doesn't have the samsung touchwiz framework.
You don't need to answer the questions above for me. They're self discovery questions anyway. If you do happen to answer yes to either of the last 2 questions then CM10 isn't going to be for you.

[Q] Best Close to Stock KitKat ROM for Tab2

Hey Guys,
I'm quite a Noobie when it comes to ROMS and I haven't ventured into Custom ROMS in any way before. But, because in the infinite wisdom of Samsung (my one B!TCH) is they don't maintain support for older devices like Apple do, I need to consider updating my Tab 2 to get some decent performance.
There appears to be about 4 - 5 ROMS that are being regularly maintained and I'd like to know which one is as close to stock Samsung ROM and easy to install with no requirement to Root the device. I have installed ROMS via Odin quite a few times, so I am confident in that area.
Ones I know about:
SlimKat
CyanogenMod 11
Mokee
SOKP
Cheers and thanks
Willo
Please some help!
People aren't answering because what you're asking for isn't possible. None of them are like the Samsung ROM and they ALL require a custom recovery and root. You can't install them over Odin. If you do root then try them yourself and see which one works best for you. That's part of the fun of Android!
Not to mention you posted a question in the General forum not the Q&A forum...

[Q] Screen Mirroring on 4.4 based custom rom.

Hello Fellows. I'm a new member of XDA Developers, however more than a developer, im a tester of roms.
Recently a installed a Rom named Galaxy S5Project for the SG S3 i9305. and as all of us know, custom based rom comes with the samsung drivers, due to its creation from a stock firmware.
Now, I've been trying to use screen mirroring in this rom (Galaxy S5Project) but it didn't work. Using Ezcast app + the ezcast device. I tried with AllianceRom and it worked just perfect, equally with TGP (the galaxy project) rom. i couldn't post this in the thread made by the developer because he probably thought someone did that question already. Sadly now one has done it yet. so first, Someone has the solution for my thread? Second, the developer's thread told me that i must go to Q&A or General Forum (i dont know where is that)

[Completed] HI. im a newbie. Query for latest rom for s5830i.

Hi, i have been reading regardless. but lost somehow in many links and threads regarding custom rom for s5830i....with the "i".
anyway, its full unit is Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i. i was looking quite sometime in threads and such for a latency in any stable rom for it. i just recently installed a CM version 9.2.2-ics-plus-cooperve.
honestly, it got quite bugs. headset is not detected, USB mounting not detected via PC, the file manager is a bit troublesome if you did not mind renaming such files with their proper file name extensions. got quite a bit of twitching and sudden collapse. i've been in it for like a week, and i got troubled by its performance quite sometime. and i will not details the other, we will only get far in the subject.
anyway, i hope someone or anyone will post a link for a good working rom for s5830i.
i have it installed with CWM 6.0.1.2..
still looking, there are best roms out there but..
well, talking to myself here and hope someone notices.
but anyway. im looking atm at an xperia marshmallow rom for s5830i. hope it works with my ancient device.
just installed a CM11 earlier, CWM posted error for it said the file update was for s5830 without the "i".
well, it pays to read really, but still can't get much of the threads, i get lost easily in reading them
hope someone has a rom with stable. hope anyone can suggest or give link on which to flash via the CWM version i currently have.

Greetings and welcome to assist. We can't recommend roms, certainly for a device we don't own but all the roms in this thread should work with your device

Samsung Note 10.1 n8010 - Latest Nougat Rom

Hi,
Can someone please advise where can I find custom ROM for Samsung Note 10.1 n8010 (Wifi).
I am currently using Marshmallow and would like to get my hands on Nougat.
The one currently available (link below) has issues with Keyboard and have to always use Physical Keyboard rather than touch keyboard. Also there has been no update since 05/03/2017.
Any suggestions????

Thanks
If you read the forum you will see all the current roms in development .
But no longer much development on Note 10.1 that's the lot no more and no less on this forum .
You may find other development on other forums via Google search but probably the same as this forum .
Questions do not belong here PM a mod to move to correct forum section .
