Hello people,
I am proud to present CWM recovery v5.8.0.2 for the FLEX!
THIS IS NOT UPDATED FOR JELLYBEAN!!..yet
UPDATED support for either internal or external sd
THE ACTUAL CONTENTS OF THE INTERNAL SDCARD ARE LOCATED IN THE /data/media FOLDER ON THE PHONE SO YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE /media FOLDER TO GET YOUR INTERNAL SDCARD's ZIP FILES AND STUFF WHEN CHOOSING INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD. ALSO THE BACKUPS YOU MAKE WILL BE STORED IN THE /data/clockworkmod/blahblah FOLDER ON THE PHONE SO I RECOMMEND YOU BUY AN EXTERNAL SD CARD BUT ITS JUST WHATEVVS.
Alright you will need a few things before you can install.
1. Rooted Pantech Flex P8010 (oscar)
2. Computer
3. Basic knowlege of adb/fastboot
4. ADB/Fastboot
READ ME (Disclaimer)
WARNING: THIS VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY
I am not responsible for you bricking your phone or anything that you do to your phone e.g. flash wrong zips , drop it in coke ect.
INSTRUCTIONS
Get a file manager such as Root Explorer and delete the FILE in the /system folder called "recovery_from_boot.p". Get the signed zip file for your desired sdcard mount point (either internal or external sd), and put it in your /external_sd or /sdcard folder. Download and put the .img file (also corresponding to the desired mount point for your sdcard) in adb folder and rename it boot.img. Then put the phone into fastboot mode (google it).
Type:
fastboot boot boot.img
And CWM recovery will pop up after a few seconds. Then choose install zip from sdcard and browse to the CWM_flex-P8010.zip and install it. Then reboot into recovery again and YAY! nandroid time :good:
BIG HUGE thanks to atadres for helping me along the way and also making the flashable zip :highfive:
Score dude! Team flex has such a bright future with these devs. Glad I could help
Bravo Timmy!
Timmy after playing around with,it ive, noticed its not able to browse internal sd,card only external, but thats a,minor issue no biggie, really
Yea I will try to add support for internal sd.

If you get the update forcefully, just reroot the phone using the previous method then install the recovery. That is what I just did and it worked for me. Syncing git repos as we speak
@timmythanoob please share how you did it....for knowledge's sake
I used a pantech burst cwm recovery and made it compatible with the flex (recovery.fstab, init.rc,) and I also used a /sbin/recovery file from an atrix 4g to get the resolution right for our screen (qHD).

Special thanks goes out to everyone who tested for me.
I do not have the device, so I rely heavily on testers to report any bugs.
Here is CWM for the SK4G.
You will need to modify your stock recovery binary to be able to use CWM.
Kernel Devs can also compile CWM into their kernel by extracting the update.zip and building it into their initramfs.
To replace your stock recovery binary with the modified binary:
download this file
DEAD. USE BALI KERNEL
Exatract and take the recovery binary file inside of it and use root explorer or adb push the file to /system/bin.
DO NOT delete the current one there, or rename any files.
Just overwrite it.
I would however, recommend getting Android Commander from www.androidcommander.com It's a lot easier, and a lot more useful.
CWM Final
DEAD. USE BALI KERNEL
Place in the root of your SD.
You can now use Quick Boot from the market, or adb reboot recovery to boot into CWM
I have sent Koush the device tree to have the official update.zip supported within Rom Manager.
UNTESTED:
You can also take the contents from the update.zip and replace the contents that are in noobnl's recovery rerouter/root.
Again, I haven't tested that due to not having the device.

this phone is not basically a galaxy S. heck, when the SGS4G came out people said it was basically a vibrant. NOPE. Wrong.
It would be hard to do, but might be doable.

if we could get a stock kernel with just the ext4 patch so we would be able to run our system, data and cache on ext4 i'd be pleased enough . idk if anyone with this phone would be able to rebuild the kernel with that patch but if so our phones would easily be 3x faster
I also see the same problem. I didn't think to test backups. What was all changed from the working version to the current version? all that needed to be changed was the lun map and BOARD_USES_CUSTOM_KEYMAP

yes i tested the original one completely and everything worked, the new one you sent me i only tested the buttons and mapping which were fine . but it seems now the nand backup/restore has a problem.
Edit: i just made another nand backup with the original recovery without the back button mapping and it works. seems the edited one got the backup/restore broken somehow

not hard to do at all. unpack, add in ext4 mount options, repack, then flash kernel, and script to convert.

EDIT: I solved my own problem. Scroll down to post #8 for the solution.
My problem was that my phone (T-Mobile USA HTC One S) would not boot into ICS anymore, but I was still able to get into recovery (CWM), yet I had no access to the sdcard ("unable to mount /sdcard").
Post #8 below tells you how you can restore access to the sdcard in CWM so that you can push a ROM zip file to the sdcard via adb.

Have you made any nandroids? If you have maybe you can restore. Also check in the download file in cwm that is possible place where that file may be.

Unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to make a nandroid backup. My previous phone was a Samsung Galaxy S 4G, which, like most Android phones, has a removable SD-Card that stuff can be copied onto (and then flashed). Not so here obviously.
Is it even possible to push files to the sdcard using the method I tried when in CWM?
When you push the file via ADB, have you tried placing it into a folder that you know is on the /sdcard?

It just got worse. I got the idea to format all partitions (data, system, cache, sdcard) through CWM, and now CWM can't even mount /sdcard/ anymore...
I had to do the same thing:
adb push "NameOfFile.zip /sdcard
then go to install from zip.
Look on sd card and it will be there.
I always rename the zip files to there can be less errors.
you can also do
adb shell pull "nameOfFile.zip /sdcard
make sure the zip file is where your adb and fastboot is
My problem is CWM can't mount the /sdcard directory, so I can't flash the new OS. Is there anybody that knows how to recover from that problem?

Yes, I just fixed my problem yesterday after some serious trial-and-error.
1) Use the All-in-One-Kit and flash your recovery back to stock
2) Boot into the bootloader and choose to "clear storage" and afterwards to reset to factory defaults.
3) Go back to the all-in-one-kit and flash a CWM recovery version again.
4) Reboot into recovery (CWM). Your /sdcard should now be mounted and visible.
5) Now, try the UTB rom (it worked for me), rename the zip file to something short (i.e. utb.zip), and push it to the sdcard using adb as follows:
Code:
adb push utb.zip /sdcard
6) While still in CWM, flash the zip.
The trick here is that only the stock recovery is capable of restoring access to the sdcard by it's proprietary "clear storage" option.
Good luck!

If that doesn't work an easy fix is boot into bootloader, goto fastboot and use "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and so fouth. In the dev section I seen a stock tmobile naindroid. Download it and you'll have your data.img and boot.img. You should be able to flash them without needing to push to /sdcard. letme know how it works
I know you fixed this already just thought this still might help

And try this slightly modified command instead:

hi Guys,
Quick question about my galaxy R
i have a 32 gb card installed in my phone, when i look in storage tab within task manager it says below:
System Storage: 1.97 GB
USB Storage: 3.75 GB
SD Card : 29.70 GB
so when i install a big game (600+ mb) & say move to SD card it is moved to "USB Storage", this restricts me by installing limited games although i have lots of free space on my sd card.
Can anyone pls tell me how do i moce it to SD Card?

Please check the file you have donwloaded is not corrupted or broken. If still persisting with the same issue, you can try CWM 5 by Adam77Root.

Procedure is same. But use this CWM tar file in Odin instead of the one you tried earlier.:fingers-crossed:

Try it buddy and after downloading the .tar file, try to open it with winrar, if it says file couldnot b opened or corrupted, then diwnload it again. Sometimes our internet connection stops in between downloading and hence file become corrupted. Try it and its not recovery mode its downloading mode..

I have a Sidekick 4G. I wanted to install a new custom ROM because how crappy the stock ROM is. Anyways, I rooted my phone which went fine. Downloaded the CWM and everything was fine there. Also, took the Recovery.zip and Update.zip from this site. Extracted the Recovery File and copied it over to my SD Card. The custom ROM I attempted to install was the Glorious Overdose V2 uploaded by ayoteddy. Telling from all the work he's done, I'm pretty sure it wasn't corrupted or anything like that. After I had downloaded the zip file, I copied it into my SD Card without extracting it. So then I went to my phone. I put the phone is Recovery Mode which was fine. Went to Reinstall Package (Blue) and it went to an orange menu assuming that it was right. Then, I clicked Install ZIP from SD Card. The ROM had installed succesfully and I went back to reboot the phone. Upon rebooting, I had heard an automated voice (female) that said "Convert data partition, system is unavailable. Convert system partition." My Sidekick has been stuck on that for the day. It won't get anywhere past the screen where it says "Sidekick 4G" as it powers up. Is my phone hard bricked? I'm a bit new to all of this Custom ROM with Android thing. If bricked, any suggestions to help restore it? But until then, my phone is pretty much useless.

I'm still a bit confused on this. What should I do after I have my phone in download mode and ODIN opened up? Just continue to hit Start even if it says "No Binary Is Selected!"?

You skipped checking your mounts man xD you don't usually need to worry about it after you get the voodoo recovery, but it is always helpful to check first.
You want to see this in your mounts and storage option in orange recovery:
Cache: mounted
Data: unmounted
Sdcard: unmounted
System: mounted
Then you can continue on and pick the zip you would like to flash. And also, you need the pit file for sk4g and the respective tar file for kg2.
Hope this is helpful

Like I've been advising the odin one click only needs the sidekick mount which will download if you don't have it.
Also I believe you mounts are wrong
Cache unmounted
Data mounted
Sd card unmounted
System unmounted
Or atleast that's what mine looks like when I install a rom

Yeah you're right actually, I knew what I was saying, however the way I typed it wasn't the way it looks, it was what they should be set to. The way that you typed them is what it should look like. That was a duh moment for me. Sorry bout that

Okay first ima start off by saying the obvious I'm nor responsible for your phone or the actions you take with it nor will I ever be you want it rooted? You want cwm working? YOU want the roms? Then it YOU are the one who is responsible
On that note you can odin if something goes wrong an is a good thing to have such files on your computer just in case
Time for the tut c:
Root
Download cwm via sidekick android development sticky(can do this with phone)
File explorer (root browser)
Now make a copy an put in different folder
Extract the copy to same location
(Should be a recovery file) now move that file to /system/bin (to get to this folder you must have root an you must go as far back as you can as sd card is a sub folder in the phone)
After that you want to
Go to original cwm file
Rename to" update.zip "
Move to the sd cards main folder " / "
Now reboot phone
Reboot into recovery
Reinstall packages
Wellcome to orange cwm
From here to custom roms
Download rom you desire to use
Put in findable location on sd card
Go into recovery
Reinstall packages
Wipe everything an wipe everything in advance menu
No go to mounts
(Mounts) only need to unmount system!! For mostly every rom if you don't your phone will mess up
System unmounted
Now after mounts are in looking like that
Back out an go to install zip
install zip from sd card
Find the rom you chosen to install
Click it
Wait for it to finish then press back button
(I check mounts again because of habit)
Reboot phone
DON'T TOUCH IT... LISTEN TO THE VOICE
Don't touch for about 5-10 mins if they system mounted via voice
Will include my files in a bit

I had A LOT of trouble flashing but fortunately they are all fixed.
So far, I have glorious overdose installed. Know of any other good ones?

Also customize it with batter icons or any of that stuff it make it so much better looking
But it is an older version so it won't have the same icons as the latest nexus jb
