[Q] Can't erase Xoom - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Back when I was on Jellybean, I decided to go back to ICS because of random reboots. I backed up all of my apps, through titanium, and flashed an ICS backup. Everything seemed to work fine. After i restored my apps, everything started crashing. Since then i have tried everything from factory resetting to flashing images through fastboot. Every time i try flashing images, it says "done" but i reboot and it's just the way it was. Clockworkmod isn't working either, it either gives me an error or reboots recovery in the middle of a restore. If you need any more info, i would be happy to get it.

When you tried to restore your back up from Jb to ICS it caused issues. You can try and push a new clockwork recovery and then restore a back up or you can also just fastboot the stock image and start all over again. What xoom do you have and what clockwork based recovery were you using (rogue or something else)?

[Q] Cannot Restore Droid X from Rom Manager Recovery File

I have an original Droid X that I had flashed Rubix Focused 2.0 onto and it was working fine but i decided I wanted to go back to my original backup that I had created using ROM Manager, after going into Clockwork Recovery to wipe my data and my cache. I then attempted to go into the restore section of Clockwork Recovery and restore from my original backup. However after several attempts of trying this process I cannot get my phone to restore from that backup file which happens to be my only backup. My phone seems to get stuck on webview.db
I am not sure what this process is that it keeps getting stuck on however it is preventing me from going back to my original backup and thus my phone is completely useless. Any ideas on how to work around this issue or fix it so I can have my regular DX back?

[Q] Stuck at ClockWorkMod screen after restoring a back up

Hi,
I have unlocked my bootloader(HBOOT 2.00.0002) using htcdev.com official method (still S-ON) and installed clockwork mod recovery v 5.0.2.0. Then I made a back up, I was running the stock rom (2.10.401.8). Everything went Ok.
Afer trying a couple of roms and getting some crashes, I decide to go back to my stock rom. Go to recovery, make the 3 wipes and restore. CWM says everything is ok. But after rebooting, every single time, the HTC white logo displays and them it goes to the clockworkmod screen.
Is there any extra step to restore a back up beeing s-on?
Flash the original kernel? I assume this still needs to be done even with a CWM backup?

After several tries it finally worked by flashing the original boot.img. Thanks!
I'm having the same problem again..
I flashed the ICS base rom (found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859700) and its boot.img through clockworkmod. My desire s is unlocked via htcdev, so its S-On, which means the new radio was not flashed, right?
So I want to go back to my gingerbread stock rom back up ((2.10.401.8). Boot into recovery, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache and wipe data, then restore the back up. Reboot into fastboot and flash boot.img extracted from the back up. Everything seems to be ok,but after rebooting its stuck at the htc white logo, and I've go through the whole proces 3 times now.
Am I doing something wrong or missing some step?
Thanks a lot!

CWM reboots during restore!

Okay so I backed up my rom fine. When I went to restore it, CWM would get a little ways through restoring data and reboot the phone. What the hell?
Running stock rom and the latest version of CWM.

This is happening to me, as well, and it renders the restored phone inoperable as it seems to fail and reboot during the data restore. Wiping the data altogether and thereby starting fresh is the only way to get it to boot. Not Happy.
put your phone in download mode and try reflashing the cwm with the latest one: 6.0.4.3 via odin.

Can I perform a backup using fastboot?

My phone randomly decided to bootloop today and the only thing I can get to is fastboot.
I flashed the stock 5.0.1 system, boot, recovery, bootloader, cache, and radio (everything except userdata) to it but it still won't boot.
I can't even get into recovery. It doesn't appear to be the powerbutton because I could stay in fastboot mode long enough to flash everything.
You can "fastboot flash", but can you fastboot restore or backup?
LG is going to try and fix the phone free, but I'd like to try and backup my data beforehand.
I'm considering flash userdata, but I'd like to back it up first.
Edit: Started putting my phone back together and somehow seems to be fixed for this boot. I'm scared to reboot, so I'm backing up everything with Titanium Backup right now and transferring it to my PC, then I'm going to do a nandroid backup if possible.

reboots and freezing

My phone was running great on MOAR 3.1 and all of the sudden froze while browsing. I was able to reboot, but the freeze would occur after a few seconds or up to a minute after every reboot. Booted into recovery and clean installed and had the same problem. Went to odin to try and flash stock but phone kept freezing on download screen.
I was finally able to keep the phone active long enough to get a clean flash of stock tar, but the freezing and rebooting problem still persists.
It does not have any problems when in twrp. If I can get it to boot back up into recovery it will stay responsive.
I don't know what else to try.
Thanks for any ideas.
Full wipe with custom recovery, including internal storage and reflash stock tar.
