Hi,
Is anything possibly stuck at the bottom of the card slot, which is preventing it from clicking down fully?

Does the card physically seem to go in all the way? If not, Malybru probabyl has the answer.
If it does go in all the way and doesn't click, then you might be screwed as the little plastic peice that catches the tab on the card may be broken. If so, I don't know how you've begin to try and fix that yourself. HTC wuld probably just replace the whole board since that SD card housing unit is connected directly to it.
If you can get it in all the way, can you hold it in place and have the phone read it? Or does that not even work?

i am almost so sure there is nothing.... maybe rice because i dropped it in a puddle

Try to put the sd card in place and hold it there and try or put some tape on it so it gets on the place. In other hand I think you can buy that piece on eBay and try to replace it yourself. Think the piece includes the SIM card slot too.

Looks like I have the same problem in the same type of phone, and I can't get it out even despite digging around in there with a needle. Has anyone sorted this kind of thing out, or even disassembled the whole SD card slot to clear it up?
I suppose that even after taking the metallic "cover bit" of I would be able to use the SD card, if I use tape or something else to push it towards the metallic "reading bits" on the bottom?
Thanks

tape will not last
You can buy a mainboard on ebay and simply replace the whole thing. It's not too hard if you are a bit patient and careful.
There are good instructions on youtube and other websites that show you all the steps in detail. Use google.
As an alternative you can buy a working Sensation with broken glass for very little money and get a cheap motherboard that way. That was how I did it.
Of course you'll have to unlock and root the phone again afterwards.

Sticky Stylus?

Ranomly, my stylus won't "slide" into the slot smoothly. It gets half way in and then a lot of pressure is required to push it all the way down. I took the battery out and used a flash light to see any obstructions, but I can't see anything. Am I missing something?
I've just started having the same problem. The stylus gets very tight in it's slot, hard to push in, and even harder to pull out.
I would love to hear if anyone has found the cause of this.

Yeah, it's a real BEYOTCH to pull out. (that's what she said)
I figured out the cause of this when it happened to me a few weeks back.
Take a look at your stylus, you will notice that the plastic end cap can/has pulled(s) away very slightly from the metal base. This, less than a millimeter change, causes it to get caught on the stylus sensor within the holster.
Solution :
Try your backup stylus and see if that slides in fine. That is what worked for me.
No amount of playing with the sensor seemed to fix it.
This happened to me my first week of having the Raphael. It was due to some build up of plastic, or bent plastic at the end of the slot. To fix it I took my stylus and kind of rotated it pushing it outwards along the sides of the stylus slot.

Humm, none of this is working for me. I'm going to try my other stylus, but I'm not sure. I took a bright flashlight and shined it down in the slot and I can't see anything stopping the sytlus from going in smoothly.
there might be the switch for the stylus come out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432014&page=2
maybe that will help?
Yeah, my stylus is getting stuck too within the first week of getting it. I can see where the sensor is supposed to come out, but it doesn't look like there is anything there, so why would it still be getting stuck?

[FIX] Replacing the SIM and SD card reader module on an HTC Inspire.

NOTE: I am not sure if this method works on a Desire HD.
After a fantastically failed experiment, I was left needing to replace the SIM card reader on my Inspire. Fortunately, it is a pretty easy process as long as you don't mind opening up your phone.
Things you will need:
A Torx T6 screwdriver (an eyeglasses screwdriver might work too)
The process.
Order the SIM and SD card reader module. They are connected to the same board. The part costs about $10 shipped.
Once received, open your phone. This YouTube video demonstrates the process. STOP at around 1:51. You do NOT need to remove the frame of the phone. To sum it up:
Slide off the bottom cover (the one with the SIM and SD card reader underneath) and unscrew the four (or three) screws there.
Remove the camera/flash cover with a flathead screwdriver (unless you use a plastic one, this is extremely highly likely to scratch the edges around it). Remove the screw that is hidden underneath.
Carefully slide the top of the housing up and out of the phone.
Remove the tape covering the module. I would recommend saving it as you will need it later.

Next, carefully disconnect the ZIF-terminated cable from the socket. The black screwdriver in the picture below and my finger in the picture following points to it.
Remove the module from its adhesive. Be very careful here! It's stuck on pretty good, so while it might not feel like it's coming off at first, it will eventually give in.
Stick on the new module, reconnect it to the board then seal it with the original tape.
Re-insert the top cover. Test that everything is good by slidiing in the battery and turning the phone on. If all went well, you'll get cell phone signal and a mounted USB card.
Re-settle all screws and slide the bottom cover back in. You are done.
Let me know if there's anything I need to add or change!

Nice work. But I'm more curious about the fantastically failed experiment that required this repair.
I was cutting SIMs down to micro-SIM size for testing on an iPhone 4s I was giving to my sister. I stupidly decided to put it back in the Inspire and had to move it around a lot before it picked it up. I wasn't careful with what I was doing, so one night I did it in a hurry and landed up breaking one of the pins. It couldn't read SIM cards after that.
I tried to sell it as it was, but wasn't getting good leads. (The electronics exchange shop in my area wouldn't even give me a quote.) A few weeks later, I realized that I was getting bored with my GSII, so I decided to bite the bullet and try it myself. Someone said it was easy to do; fortunately, he was right.

[Q] No signal after screen replacement: Damaged motherboard?

I was doing a screen replacement on a Nexus 5 and a small part from the motherboard fell off.
3 pictures to illustrate the problem here:
http://min.us/mKOC4FQe6F0HI
Afterwards, the mobile connection was a lot worse than before. Now, 2 weeks later, the phone's connection has become unusable and it constantly shows no service. Only very rarely does it have any sort of connection (Edge/3G/H/4G).
Questions:
1)What is the part that came off? (see album above) My knowledge is a bit limited but I'm quite sure it has to do with the connection? I notice there are 3 other parts exactly like this spread over the motherboard.
2)Can I repair it? Do I glue it back on? Do I solder it on? Does it somehow click on? (I have tried if it clicks but this part is so tiny it's almost impossible to really handle
3)Based on my explanation, do you think this tiny part is the only cause? The phone still had some connection at first but it got worse. I'm also planning to order replacement antenna cables to see if that helps.
Thanks in advance!

In my case.. I had to replace the charging circuit Cuz it was 'broken' as described by the cellphone shop.. It has connections to the antenna.. Now phone is fully working.. Before that though, I tried different sim cards with different companies (bell Rogers and fido) all worked on my phone except my carrier sim card (mobilicity). After replacing the circuit I just mentioned everything works fine. Cost is 25$
Needs solder it's an rf trimmer /radio frequency. It's vital to an ariel of one type or other. If you want to risk a bodge assemble everything except the back and hold it in place with bluetack. If it works I was going to say epoxy it but don't. Get someone to solder it. It's easy to do if you have the skills.
Oh vital it's right way round and has now been turned. There should be a slot for tuning it.

No sim card notification

I'm trying to determine if I need to take my phone in because of hardware or not. At least once a day I get a "no sim card, please insert sim card" notification. After a reboot it disappears. I'm on Metalrom, but it has happened on other rooms including stock. It's related to the systemui. Does anyone else experience this or have a solution?
Thanks.

Have you tried restarting your cards yet? That's all I've got.
Restarting the card? Not sure what you mean?
Pop the back and reseat both of your cards. I had mine come loose a little once.
---------- Post added at 02:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:59 PM ----------
I meant reseat, not restart. Darn auto correct.
Yeah, I've done it before. Maybe it just wiggles loose over time. It's not a big deal really. Just annoying.
Could be the card too. I wonder if you went to a real Sprint store if they would swap it out free of charge?
Possibly, I really don't want to Odin back to stock quite yet. I wedged a little piece of paper between the card and the battery to see if it helps.
Just for future reference, this is the warning I get.

I doubt they really care if you're stock unless you were planning on doing it just to test things out.
When I bought my S5 used, I rooted and flashed it before I even brought it in to activate it. Told the guy to ignore the 'extras', he didn't seem to care anyway. LOL
While I was getting him to do everything, I even had him write down my new MSL too so I could have it for later.
I might try, a few stores near me don't seem to care about root
So far with something wedged between the card and battery I have not gotten the warning, I'll check back if it happens again.
So far so good, must be a loose card.
So a month later, no notification still. Not sure if this helps anyone else, cheesy fix but it works.

How to setup a new motherboard just put in?

Been trying to get my Note 20 Ultra working again after a screen replacement and the phone went BSOD. Screen was tested and confirmed working. So I put in a new motherboard. Screen still doesn't work. With no touch capability how am I suppose to set it up? *I did try ODIN, but failure since I can't put it in the correct mode.* **I took this picture off my TV screen since it does put video out with a USB C to HDMI cable**

I'm sorry I can't be of any help with your touch screen not working, but I wonder if you or someone might be able to help me? Your post is the only place I've seen the screen I'm getting after replacing the motherboard in my Note 20 Ultra, and I can navigate using the touch screen, but I don't know what steps to take to get the regular OS to install and function from this screen.

Have you tried tapping the various buttons?
What caused the display to fail?

I have heard that it will pull the necessary data down if your sim is in. But I can't verify that until I get a working screen in it. I'll keep digging...

I'm hoping that my replacement screen is just bad and they'll swap it. Apparently BSOD is becoming a common thing with this phone. Even my parts supplier is asking me. I want to test my old board, but I lack knowledge to do so (and probably equipment as well.) From what I can say is that it affects all things screen related. So no picture, no touch and no S-Pen. So it could be a chip problem.
Replacement parts must be the exact same part number. Some of the model variants parts are not interchangeable!
Out of circuit assemblies are also susceptible to ESD damage. ESD protocols should be followed when handling these assemblies. At the very least wear all cotton and raise room humidity to 50%.
