Hello,
I am new to HTC and getting a custom ROM on it is quite more difficult than on the Galaxy S2. I just found this website http://kgs1992.com/kgs-utility/
Can anyone tell me what steps I need to do to put a custom ROM on it?

I didn't try it yet because I want to be sure I'm not doing anything wrong. I think I'm going to try your links but I got a couple of questions left.
1. Is S-off neccesary and is it hard to do?
2. What are the pros and cons of s-off?
3. What is the right order to do everything so I can flash a ROM?

Hi,
S-off is not necessary.
With your firmware, you can flash any JB or ICS ROM in the development forum.

Hi,
I do not know that site.
The main point of the thread I gave you,is the 4EXT recovery you will install.
With this you will be able to install the ROMS.
The other site wants you to install CWM recovery which is no good to you.

I heard somewhere that if u are s-on u can get into some trouble like "wifi not turning on and wrong flashes".
Is that true? I had a s-off device before and there was no trouble like this. Is s-on just the same like s-off in terms of flashing? (i mean not only turning on smartflash; problems which can occur, which dont occur on s-off)
Are those problems something i should not worry about as i will not get into any trouble with s-on and those guides?

I read WiFi problems will only happen if you keep the stock kernel when flashing ROMs. Although I'm not sure about that.

Hi guys!
I bought my unit last december2011 and had it rooted and flashed the bulletproof rom.
I'm thinking of upgrading the software by using the official htc ics upgrade.
My questions are :
1. Is it possible to install the update even with the rom i'm using, bulletproof.
2. If i did download and install, is there a possibility that may device will be bricked?
3. If my unit got bricked, will the shop where i bought my unit knew that i had it rooted if i am to claim that it had been bricked because of the ics update that i installed, to get it replaced?
Hope you could help me on this.

1. You could try, just by searching for a update in settings, about phone, system update.
2. THe device wouldn't brick, but assuming you have s-off it would probably wipe that. And at the moment you can't s-off hboot 1.27.0000 which the ICS firmware updates it to. So your limited to the amount of custom roms you can install. But if your just looking for stock ics you'll be fine
3. Depends on the shop.
Hope I helped!

Hi Zdos!
Thank you for this. Now i feel a lot better. I'm still waiting for the official htc ics update to be released in the Philippines but was afraid to try it because of the possibility of bricking my device. I've watched one video earlier wherein the guy's sensation xe got bricked because he tried installing the official ics update on his rooted device.
I'm not that techie but i love my sensation xe, helps me on my work. Still got lost in the technical terms in the thred though.

Ok,
I'm not sure if the update will come through to your rom. So I think you should look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154#post21711154 follow the instructions, and you will have a Sensation XE with ICS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849 is probably the best rom to use.

Those details won't suffice to determine what you need for flashing ARHD ...
As you are running custom Rom I can say that you are soff...but to be sure can you post a screen shot of your bootloader that would be pretty helpful.
Also post your cid ...this you can get it by fastboot command
"fastboot getvar cid"
(Assuming you have fastboot/adb setup)
Also there is the best noob proof guide for flashing ARHD...chk that then you can flash any custom Rom easily

You can't install official ota ics update with custom Rom. It must be stock Rom with stock recovery.
Soff will stay same after update so not important you don't need to s-on to get ics.

Fastboot usb:
Ruu back to stock.
Load Recovery: (if not flash correct one)
Try a correct ROM.
And never give your boy a phone to work with.

Can you boot in recovery?
In fast boot USB mode.
Type in command screen: fastboot getvar cid
Just find a ruu for your device (which supports you cid)
And run it in fastboot USB mode.
If it won't run. Try restoring stock recovery via fastboot then run it.
Google get back to stock on s forums on xda
(For the SV its the same procedure just different files)

Whats the state of your problem, man?
Do you still need help?
As there is no forum here on xda for one sv, it is hard to help people cause the threads going under in the masses.
You also only could flash the wrong ROM, cause there are no CustomROMs at the moment.
I need badly to unlock my phone for every network i found unlocks almost for every phone but not for One SV need your help. And of course for free cuz i really cant afford that. I got this phone as present and cant use it because of sim lock. Thank you ver much. I hope someone will help me. I need it for Vip Operator Macedonia.

Are you already on Jelly Bean?
I have heard of a method for S-Off users, but this you can only get under ICS at the moment.
I am on jelly bean do i need to downgrade and s-off to unlock the sim or there is chance with my case. Thank you again. I got it with jelly bean not updated. Brand new.

There is actually no chance to downgrade from jelly bean, i'm sorry.
I don't know if such dealers exist in your country, but i know a case where a german guy unlocked the simlock of his One SV by a turkish telephone dealer "under the hand" for 20 €.
And what happens if i put custom rom does that change something sorry for asking too much but i need this really. And we have guys for decoding but its over 30euros and cant afford it right now. Ty btw and too bad there isnt unlocking like the one s.
Sent from my HTC One SV using xda app-developers app
A custom rom will change nothing.
S-Off is what you need and with jb we know no way way to get it.
TY again this was helpful at least i know on what i am. And if i find way to do that i ll let you know cuz i got really good friends working on projects like bt and kali linux now and they may have solution. Pentesting is my life. And android pentest my second. Hehe, have a nice day.

1shutdown ur device

Isn't LS asop based? So the restart selection when powerin down should have the bootloader option?

1. Flash 4EXT recovery via fastboot commands.
2. Enable "smartflash" (tools>smartflash)
3. Reboot and enjoy!
Look here for 4EXT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20015407
By the way, if you're coming from a different version of android or from a sense ROM, then you must format all partitions from recovery before flashing the ROM.

Smartflash is a convenience.
You need to flash boot.img manually. This is an issue for 90% flashes. Just Google how to do it.
Happy to help.

You already have s off. No need for smartflash. Just format everything except sdcard and flash.
Also, it is possible to have locked bootloader and s off.
JAM THAT THANKS BUTTON.
Happy to help.
