Found these Halo HD screen protectors on Amazon. Come with 3 to a pack and only $5.95. Installation is a snap, and they feel very similar to glass. Very smooth, not tacky and no fingernail indentions. As with all of these dry protecors, they do not cover the entire screen due to the rounded edges, but they do have the cutouts for the FFC and sensors.

Forgot to mention that they also send you another pack of protectors for free just for submitting a review anywhere on the web.
So a lot of these amazon reviews are just there to get a second pack?
Not saying that the product isn't any good, but it still makes me suspicious concerning how much you can trust those reviews.
I have a pack of these. They seem ok and you sure can't beat the price. For this price if I get any scratches or edge lifting I have no problem installing a new one.
Agreed, but to be honest, the instructions do not require a positive review. And furthermore, the insert within the packaging said I have been "chosen" to receive a free pack which leads me to believe that the offer is provided randomly.
All things aside, I have been very happy with my purchase. Even without the free offer, I still got 3 screen protectors for ~$6.00.

Of course they don't.. but as the person doing the review, you would still think that a positive review is more likely to get you a second set.
I get that positive reviews are extremely important, I just think that incentivizing them in this way is less than ideal.

But as I said, all that is required is a link to your review and the code listed on the package insert. If anything, they are incentivizing reviews in general and word of mouth.

I am looking for a dry applied with oil resistant,
does this really resist oil?
(I don't want a matte tho)

These are gloss but they do not have an oleophobic coating.

I got 3 of these in the MATTE format and they are very good. I paid only 3$ for the set of 3 but since then they have increased the price to 5$. But still its a very good choice.

They don't require positive reviews. I had an issue with a faulty pack a year ago and left a bad review. They sent me out a replacement for the review and even sent out an extra pack to make up for the trouble. Never even asked me to change the review.
Seem pretty honest and it seems like they just want to get the word out. If you want to see some fake reviews, go look at some other protectors on amazon where the product is all 5 stars.
How would these compare to SGP protectors?
I have the matte of this brand on my phone right now and I absolutely love it. Definitely would not have left a 5 star review if it wasn't deserved. My friend bought the clear ones and gave me the other two although I didn't need 'em, but from what I could tell from seeing and testing it out on his phone, they are of the same high quality as mine. Definitely happy with this product, I got 'em when they were only $3 including shipping though.
I just replaced my halo with SGP. SGP is really nice..... But halo is a bit better. Halo Is slimmer and wider so it looks less noticeable on the phone. Even though the SGP is not as wide, I still have a slight issue with it not wanting to seal on some corners and the edge. Nothing crazy, but again not as nice as halo.
Clarity Is about the same. I would say that the SGP is a tad bit clearer though. Not very noticeable though. SGP feels fairly awesome though. More like the glass. Halo does feel fairly similar.
SGP: tad bit clearer MAYBE, little thicker, feels great.
Halo: covers more screen, slimmer, feels great, cheaper. No lift issues.
I am going to keep my SGP on only because I paid for it band I live the way it feels, but I'll definitely be going back to the halo at some point.

May I ask if the matte screen protectors are oil and finger print resistant? And is it possible to post a pic of the phone? I want to compare how much of the screen it covers versus the SGP. I am planning Oleophobic ones but if it this looks more "invisible" that the SGP's, I'd rather have this.
Thanks!

Oleophobic is clear one with layer of fingerprint-proof that will NOT affect the screen quality (as they said)
matte will always downgrade the screen quality

I've had the Halo clear protector for a couple of weeks and I've been happy with it. I'm getting good protection, a clear view of the screen behind it, no rainbow effect or anything like that. Other than in direct sunlight, I don't feel like I'm looking through a screen protector. And in sunlight, I don't know that I'd be seeing much more without the protector. It does take on fingerprints, but that's no surprise.
I found the installation to be very easy, easier than I'd expected. I got it on in seconds and worked out the air pretty effortlessly. About the fit, only a hard protector could cover the whole screen because of its curvature. This is not news to anyone reading these topics here. This protector is just a tad too wide to get a tight seal on the sides, but it comes closer top and bottom. I'm referring to tiny amounts, like 1mm. It's a non-issue to me as long as it doesn't cause the protector to peel back, which hasn't happened at all so far.
Hard to beat the price on this. I'd do it over again without a second thought. I'd considered the SGP and Martin Fields, but to get 4 protectors for this price makes this a no brainer. It's hard to imagine those protectors being that much better, if they're any better at all. And at the low price, going through a few over time is harmless, if it even comes down to that.

I have SGP as well and I actually like these better. While both are fingerprint magnets because of the type of SP that it is, Halo feels more "glassier" if that's even a word lol, than the SGP.
Plus, at fraction of the price and you get 3 of them, it's a great deal.

I had a previously typed review for this that went into a lot of depth but I lost it accidentally. I was thinking about doing the same thing again but I figure it isn't worth it. Instead I'll give this brief review.
The screen protector(s) are shipped in a regular envelope with only a receipt (no instructions, spray bottle or microfiber cloth). The receipt guides you to a URL for installation instructions which are in the form of a youtube video.
Anyway, long story short I put the SP on my GF's Bold 9700 first (as she doesn't really care about the look and feel of it). The end result was absolutely pathetic. I was able to get out the large air bubbles but there are mini air bubbles everywhere which will not come out no matter what I do. The texture is absolutely awful. It has an orange peel texture and it's rather rubbery so I would definitely not recommend it for a touch screen phone. The material is somewhat elastic and will bounce back to a certain degree, although there are numerous spots where something has pressed against the screen and the dents are still clearly visible.
On the up side I got plenty of material to cut a home button protector out of.
Conclusion:
Protection [5/10]
It's quite a durable material but the pieces were not even cut correctly to size.
Feel [3/10]
Feels like garbage as described above.
Look [3/10]
Looks like garbage. You can see the orange peel texture and the material isn't very clear.
If it weren't for it being "free" I definitely wouldn't have gotten it. I figure since it was free you couldn't really go wrong, but in this case it still probably wasn't worth it. (I say "free" because they charge you a lot more than it takes to ship the product so you are paying for the product to some degree)

I smell a contradictory biased assessment here.
I agree the back doesn't cover enough, and the front is useless for us, but the feel and protection don't deserve 5 and 3.
I can believe this review - I have used Invisible Shield in the past (the original "helicopter blade protector" product, now called Zagg.
I can't comment on the fit for the Galaxy, but this product leaves an unsightly wrinkly finish, not the mirror-quality reflection we'd expect/like. it's actually good for the underside, since the phone won't slide on smooth surfaces, but it's a definite no for the front of the phone.
Fitting these things are a nightmare, I have a feeling the wrinkles may be down to using more liquid than strictly necessary - but just try & use less!!! You will end up with that grippy plastic stuck at odd angles, and you'll then need to pull it off, deforming the protection.
The feeling is sticky, your finger will drag, not glide, across the screen - as well as a matt/orange peel finish.
I would say the ideal configuration would be a crystal clear or oleophobic screen protector, plus a silicone body - or for that matter a Gelaskins back.

Maybe the title is misleading. The product is for full body protection which is why I gave it a 5. The protection is quite horrible, in fact I thought 5 was quite generous. 5 is a good rating for the SP alone though.
As for the feel I find the rating quite justified as I've rated the SGP Ultra Crystal Clear SP as well and gave it a 7 and the Stealth Guards SP does not even compare to the SGP one. The SGP one feels quite smooth (very close to glass) and the look is impeccable. The Stealth Guards SP on the other hand feels awful, isn't nearly as clear, it's a pain in the a$$ to put on and is prone to "dents".
I just ordered one. I think I'll use only the back, though.
nice review man, well done
Sorry if you were expecting something great for $2. I think you're mistaken.
At best the back cover is for extra scratch protection if you don't use a case. At worst it's something you should make a personal assessment on and not put it on.
I just use the back, but I even have a thin case on it anyway. The front of mine I have a cheap ebay screen cover which works fine.
Although these Stealth say it's a front screen cover, if you look at the material you should be able to figure out it would be no good on the screen.

The reason I got the SP was because it was free and because I wanted to get one for my GF's 9700. Since I was getting one for my GF I figured I might as well get some material for my phone as well since it is "free". I've since used the material to make protectors for the home button and what not. I wouldn't dare put it on my screen as I already have an SGP Ultra Crystal Clear, + I have Realooks in the mail.
Thanks for the review
SGS has allready gorilla glass screen protector
i think it's okay to get a screen protector but i prefer nothing.
about 1.5 months allready in use and no scratches on the screen
I had one of these Stealth Guards on my HTC Legend and thought it was great. It didn't stay adhered for long before the edges started to peel though. I would just cut the peeling part off with an xacto knife to slow the progress, which worked okay but looked like crap. I won't be getting one for my SGS but do think it was worth the price (free).

So, I've had my N4 since the beginning of December and since then I've gone back and forth between the two skins. I've been using the XtremeGuard skin for about a month now. Before that I was using the Skinomi full body protector, even the sides. Both were wet applications, but the Skinomi came with its own spray bottle and applicator tools. The XtremeGuard came came in an envelope and instructions only: Basically, put drop of dishwashing soap in a small bowl of water, then dunk the skin and apply on the phone. The end result was a great fit, but.... the skin ended up being too sticky for my own taste. The price was unbelievable cheap. I just couldn't get away from the stickyness and of course the extreme orange-peel effect. But, I had already purchased a second set as a "backup" just in case I needed a set. Like I said, it was very cheap, like almost $9, shipped.
Now, the Skinomi was much more pricier, but I'm sure it was worth it. Like I said, a spray bottle, squeege, and large black felt wipe with the Skinomi logo. The front and back application was a breeze, like most front and back screen protector applications. The little trick to get the skin to stay down over the edges, or curved corners for that matter is the same: to get the curved sides and corners to stick down you have to wait a few minutes for the skin that is going to touch the screen/phone to dry up a bit. It needs to become sticky in order to stay down. I wait another minute or two and keep trying to keep the edges down. Eventually the skin stays down on the curved edges. For the front skin, I lined up the top perfectly, and the bottom is a little over 1 mm from completely covering the front. The back is even a better fit, less than 1 mm missing from all four edges. Really great coverage. Now the sides, eh, it's a ***** to get the curved corners. The pieces are long to apply and keep slipping. Eventually I got the corners to stay down, but over time from using the phone the corners would start to come up and then collect lint. I think I've given up on protecting the sides and corners that I just ordered the stock bumper and will use that to protect the edges before they get more dinged. Now that it's been 24 hours, WOW! I am very impressed. I can barely feel that there is a skin on top. Yes, it feels a little stick, but I have to put emphasis on "little". It's nowhere near sticky as the Xtreme. And the finish! WOW! The only problem is my oily fingers. I guess that's what the skinomi wipe is for?
That just my 2 cents. oh, btw, the Skinomi was very very little orange-peel look, and it's almost like a mirror. The best skin I've ever used so far (Xtreme, Skinomi, and Zagg).
Had an extreme guard on my s3, didn't like it just like you mentioned, it felt "sticky".... But it is very durable. Also don't like the wet application.

I personally thought xtreme guard was garbage. There's a night and day quality difference between skinomi and xtreme guard. You really do get what you pay for here. You can even see it in the packaging.

I didn't know. Please forgive me. I didn't know. I was lured in by the cheap price, but I've seen the light!
Just ordered the skinomi one.. I also debated to order XtremeGuard but saw the reviews weren't so good.
I'm going to try and take a different approach and try to let the sides heal and for all the bubbling and haze to subside, then I will put my bumper on, hopefully that should eliminate the issue of the edges raising up?
I bought a Skintomi way back for my Galaxy Nexus just randomly because I was having so much trouble sorting out which brand was worth anything from all the conflicting reviews, and boy am I glad I did. It is still awesome. I liked it so much I ordered the full body model for my Nexus 4. I got a great deal from a guy on ebay, I think the front cover model was like 8 bucks and the full body Nexus 4 model was less than 17.
I have to agree with the stickiness of wet applied screen protectors.
I've only used xtremeguard for for my N4 cuz I didn't really see a need to buy another/ different screen protector afterwards, so can't say anything about the others. For the first couple of days after application (like a week or so), it was almost impossible to push your thumb across the screen (dragging thumb across the screen fared a little better). After a while however it became significantly easier to use the touchscreen because the oil on my finger started to make the screen more slippery, but no where near the slipperiness of a dry install. I can easily swipe on the default keyboard but it could be better.
Right now I'm contemplating whether to spray some dust repellent on the screen protector; playing air hockey on the kitchen table is a breeze after spraying some.
Just my $0.02
N4 skinomi are hit and miss. The sides do not stick very well and lift up easy. The solutions tends to leave large bubble markings between the screen and the skin. After a month, the skin has lots of scar indentations, like worms or ants traveling in sand leaving trails. Much like those you create when pressing down too hard when applying the skin with the squeegee. Any cover or case that touches the top will lift push or cause the skin to bubble.
I've use skinomi on several devices, first one that's not "good". Same results on 3 replacements. Gonna try another brand.
I've used xtremeguard on other devices and they've worked well too. Loved it on my s3 . After some cure time it's not as sticky as when applied. But black specs in envelope and lately the material of the skin has changed. So it's quality has been randomly lacking.

Anti static spray? Wonder how that will affect the touch screen.

No, brand should not matter, but quality does. There is a list of personal requirements that I have and Skinomi (so far) meets those requirements, whereas others do not. That's not to say a cheaper cost product is better or as good. I have yet to try Zagg for my N4, but I have used the Zagg HD in the past. I want to try out BSE see how well that works.

Yeah of course we do. Different brands make a huge difference. Spend the 8 bucks on a Skintomi from ebay and try it for a few weeks and you'll see what we mean.
I ordered some skins from xtreme guard, the lower prices got me too, shipping to canada was around $3 which is awesome . Still waiting to get them so I have no reviews yet. Used BSE before, I think they are great, but getting so expensive. now buying for a 3rd phone (waiting for 2nd rma).

Hi Guys,
I cancelled my pre-order for the Spigen Neo Hybrid as it was taking far too long to arive (expected from Amazon UK was towards the end of May) So I decided to go ahead and try the Tech21 Impact Maze case, which I picked up from eBay UK for about 20 quid. Thought I would do a little review just to let you all know what I think so far...
OK, so when I was looking for a case, I wanted something that was going to offer a bit more protection from drops than the Case-Mate Barely There I had on my S2, but didn't want anything too bulky. I definitely didn't want anything that looked remotely like an Otterbox!
Initial impressions when looking at the Tech21 website, all the cases are somewhat transparent, and you can see the D30 material in all of them (apart from the Impact Snap range, which looked a bit too bulky with all the cutouts). I didn't really like the look of it, but the technology behind the D3O material looked very promising, and from watching a couple of youtube videos, its safe to say that employees at Tech21 definitely have faith in their products! Watch THIS and you'll see what I mean. This stuff is used in body armour and bulletproof vests and everything... pretty remarkable stuff really!
Anyways, I gave it a shot and it arrived this morning. Upon seeing it, it looks much darker than the images made it look (I bought the smoky version, on a Black Mist S4) and it actually looks pretty good. Still not keen on the orange bits, but you can't have everything! The fit seems great, not particularly tight to get on, but the phone doesn't move around inside it, and there are no noticeable loose bits. The case is make from smooth, soft plastic, so it feels really nice to hold, but shouldn't be so grippy that it makes it awkward to get out of your pocket. It does add some bulk (about 3mm around each side, 2mm on the back), but still feels nice to use.
I had read reports that the buttons can feel very stiff. Fortunately, I've found that while they do feel different to using them without a case, they're still pretty responsive.
The lip on the front doesn't seem to foul my screen protector, but glass ones might cause issues due to the extra thickness, which I guess will be a consideration with most cases.
All the cutouts are lined up perfectly, standard headphone plugs should fit no problem, and the hole for the USB cable should support most standard size connectors too.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with it, would be happy to recommend the case if you're looking for something similar, and happy to recommend the seller I bought it from HERE. I ordered this late Monday night, Dispach email came through early tuesday morning and it arrived by first class royal mail today. Couldn't be happier!
Will get some snaps up of the phone in the case as soon as I have something to take them with

I love those D3O Tech21 cases... we had the guy come into our office with the D3O putty and a hammer. You can push maybe a centimeter of the stuff around your finger, then hammer it like mad without feeling anything - just don't miss and hit your finger dead on! Magical stuff for sure, glad to hear that the Maze case looks better in person than it does in the pictures.

Ok but my only question, is;
If this stuff is so good why is it only around the edges of the phone?
Thacounty - there are LOADS of videos all over YouTube of very similar things, as well as the same guy (who I think must be the CEO of Tech21) throwing phones around HARD!!
I suspect they only put it around the edges as impact force her is higher (lower surface area means same force on a smaller area)

I really want to order the clear maze one for my white gs4 does it add too much width to the phone? I'm a guy with average sized hands and I can hold my galaxy nexus alright. Just worried about it making it too hard to use one handed.

This Tech21 case is around 7.7mm width-wise, definitely comfortable in one hand.
I'm still trying to decide whether or not to keep this or to go for an Otterbox Commuter when it comes out...I'm impressed by the impact protection advertisements, but I've had an Otterbox for my last two devices and it's definitely tried and true.
OK one last thing is really bothering me and the only reason I haven't ordered this yet. I feel like the front lip is too small... I have a diztronic less then 10$ case on my galaxy nexus right now and that has a nice sized front lip... Already ordered a MIME glass screen protector but if this thing falls on its face I wanna protect that beautiful screen..

That's my choice as well, for my black S4. Please post pix, if you can, and let us know how you like the Mesh.

Hey, I got my case yesterday evening. Even took some photos with my camera however didn't get a chance to upload them. Will try this evening.
Overall case is quite nice. Fits the phone well, is quite slim however due to substantial protection on the sides it does add considerably to the width and height of phone. Comparing to neo-hybrid it's a little taller, a millimeter or two wider and only slightly thicker however I feel a lot more confident of dropping it in this than the neo-hybrid.
Cutouts for ports are all perfect with a decent charging cutout so it fits all my chargers. Nice grip with the case. The Mesh on the back does look quite nice with the textured s4 back.

Thanks for the report. Look forward to the pics.
Ah the joys of knowing someone from IT
Uploaded pics below
So, got my note a few days ago at BB, and had them throw on a Zagg protector...what a POS!!!
Brought it back the next day since it was full of scratches and orange peel marks, and they put a new one on; they suggested I do not use the SPen for a couple of days, to help avoid scratches, so I did what they said, and used it yesterday, and there are scratch marks all over it. I never liked Zagg products because of the orange peel effect, but this thing is horrible...
I ordered a Spigen Ultra Crystal Clear the other day
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CRIU99U/ref=pe_309540_26725410_item
And I hope this is better...what have you gone to for a screen protector that doesnt scratch the first time you use it?
thanks

thanks; if the Spigen doesnt work, then I will try these...
I have been using SGP projectors for years, and love how they feel like glass. Looking forward to your review. Currently have the UltraClear on my Note 2, but also want to look into the one they offer that is supposed to cut down on glare and fingerprints. If you like the UltraClear I may just spring for the anti-glare to give it a shot.

Well, I installed the ultra clear the other day, and I must say that this thing is completely clear, streak free, and smooth as glass!
The Spen works perfectly, no drag or slow down what so ever, and, the smudges arent too bad either; I usually wipe it off once a day, but its not even that bad..I just like things super clear...
The only possible negative is that you might get some annoying glare, but tilting the tablet a bit usually gets rid of that, but, when you have something clear as glass, and super smooth, its obviously going to have some glare. If that little bit of glare bothers you, you might want to get the other model, but it probably wont be as clear as the ultra clear one is.
I threw my Zagg in the garbage, as it is trash compared to this one!
I've mentioned this on a few threads but I thought I'd share this product with the forum. I have no connection to the manufacturer or this retailer at all. I'm just a customer.
Cybertech 0.15mm Flexglass screen protector.
I searched for the thinnest glass protector that I could find, some were 0.3-.4mm thick. I just saw 0.15mm (about 0.006") and actually didn't notice that it was "Flexglass" and not true glass until recently..
While the thicker glass ones should be better at impact protection, screen scratches are really my concern. After about a month it is doing great with no noticeable scratches. Being plastic I expect that a scratch is likely at some point. It is somewhere in between glass and film style protectors. I has already lasted longer than some pricey films did, and I dislike the marks that fingernails and styluses often made on films, I have a actual glass protector on my Nexus 7 and it feels about the same.
Installation was easy and so far it has remained adhered. I did the tried and true steamy bathroom install to avoid dust specks.
I didn't check it with calipers or anything but 0.15mm seems about right by feel. It doesn't sit above the chrome trim edge at all. It's very thin; it was flexible with a silicone(?) adhesive.
I'd post pics but it is nearly invisible so what's the point? :cyclops:
For &6.49 with free shipping they are so inexpensive I'm probably buying another one just in case. I think I paid a little more a month ago.
There is a suspiciously detailed negative review by a user with only that 1 review. You can make your own call on that...
My experience has been the exact opposite. It feels similar to a bare screen to me.
If anyone else buys/has used it please chime in...
Not sure what he's mad about...its under $10...If you're disappointed, your expectations are a bit high...just my opinion

Yeah that's my thought about it too, for the price it is worth a try. I'm not rich (a wage slave actually) but I'll throw $10-$15 at anything I like the sound of without regrets if it lets me down. But I've seen $0.99 apps get people all steamed up so maybe I'm too easy to please or not frugal enough. Or maybe the internet just tends to bring out the whiner in people.
I've paid $20 for a skin that I peeled off within weeks so I'm pretty stoked to still use this. It has already proven to be worth it's price by my measure.

Why not just write a review on Amazon.com to help more people? You could simply copy and paste this review over.
I am the kind of person who prefer to buy a good screen protector/case then use it until I sell my phone. My last screen protector on the Note 2 has been lasted over a year and still perfect. And it's a non-glass type just the regular plastic film.

I always had issues with films, particularly on my Notes. The stylus would leave marks in the films and make weird reflections. I actually rarely used the stylus for that reason. I've had Zagg and a few other $ brands over the years with varying degrees of happiness. I'll see it this thing lasts.
As for a review I may do just that; don;t know why I came here first. It's kinda been the home of all things Android to me for years now I guess
