[Q] Need Help with any Compatible Custom Rom for Measy TV Box

Hi all,
I'm new to the XDA-Dev Forums... and i'm desperate :crying: .
I recently purchased a Measy B4K android TV-Box / Stick. I want to upgrade this to at least android 4.2.2 or 4.3 if possible as it came with 4.1.1, but I cant find any custom roms for this product anywhere. It's supposed to support up to 2160p output, but for some reason even if i set it to a 1080p display setting it still looks like its just upscalling from 720p. Would really like to get a true 1080p kernel on the device.
Is it possible to use a "Generic" 4.2.2 or 4.3 android build? I unfortunately don't have a lot of experience with custom rom builds or installations, but i really want to learn if ANYone can assist I would REALLY appreciate it so so much!
i know this an old thread but i'll answer anyway as we just found some intresting stuff & upgrade that helps a lot
also to be sure it's this a31 device we have and i'm guessing your talking about the same thing : http://www.measy.com.cn/product/showproduct75_en.htm
not a custom rom but we've gotten hold of a developpers 4.2.2 RC3 firmware for measy b4k. We had trouble getting installed but another person found a way to do it. You need phoenixcard 3.09 (http://www.freaktab.com/showthread....S918S-firmware&p=131526&viewfull=1#post131526)
this rom https://alimail.alibaba.com/alimail...eb961&[email protected]
burn the rom as product using phoenixcard, install terminal app, erase nanda then, insert phoenix burned sdcard in measy b4k box, reboot. because the boot is gone (nanda) it will try to boot from sd card and start the firmware upgrade the normal methods using the hidden reco button on the left did not seem to work. but this did, i did as well as someone else.
To give you an idea with original firmware that came with the device i had around 10000 - 11000 antutu score with this dev build firmware i have 19000 antutu score and everything feels a lot smoother & faster.
1st succes upgrade

how to erase nanda on it
http://www.freaktab.com/showthread....S918S-firmware&p=132947&viewfull=1#post132947
do note if you fail at doing something but you erased nanda your device will not boot ! it's a bit risky but worked without a problem with me
Thanks for the info!

New rom doubt

Hello, I have a samsung Y tv with its stock rom with android 2.3.6. I found a custom rom with android 4.2.2 and I installed it hoping that I could download the apps that I could not download with the 2.3.6 version, but I could not anyways. I imagine that its not a problem with the android, but one with the hardware, am I right?

i assume the play store is saying your device is not compatible with the apps you want?
it could be hardware, but most likely software.
its difficult to some times not possible to make apps work with every version of android ever made, so there is usually a cut off as to how far back it will work. this information is frequently posted with the app, but not always. look near the bottom.
usually will say something like "requires android 4.4 or newer" but the backwards compatibility varies from app to app. one might be compatible back to 3.0 where another might be only 5.0 and up.

Galaxy tab 2 10.1 P5110 - Latest stable Android based OS?

Hi everybody,
Seems like I posted in the wrong topic (General forum), so I post my question here
I am now using a Galaxy tab 2 P5110, running under Android 4.1.2, not rooted.
My problem is that my Tab is really slow when I use basic apps (chrome, office apps).
In order to get a bit more power from it (removing the Samsung layout, but I know it's a 2012 tablet...) I am looking for the most stable ROM I could use, and if possible running under a quite recent android version.
I am quite new to this kind of manipulations, so I am also looking for a tutorial to instal the ROM you could advice me.
I know I have to root my tab before doing anything. Does the tutorial available here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho....php?t=1657056 - by Weltwon) work with 4.1.2 android version?
I have an other question: Is the root enough to remove the Samsung touchwizz layer? If yes, how to do it?
Thank you all for your answers!

Edit: I have an other question. Is the root enough to remove the Samsung touchwizz layer? If yes, how to do it?
Before you do any of this, check if your emmc is faulty or not by using a brickbug checker app from the play store.
(Requires root) f you want to stay on stock rom but its becoming laggy, trimming the storage would reduce lags. This is because native trim support didnt come until 4.3.
But if you want to move to the latest version of android, most roms posted under the unified section are stable except 7.1 which is still experimetal
--Rooting the tab--
You can use cf autoroot by chainfire but it requires a usb cable, a pc, and odin. Tutorials about this can be found on google. Just make sure you use the right package for our model.
You can also use one touch root apps such as kingroot or kingoroot but they contain bloatware.
And lastly, you can flash a custom recovery such as TWRP using odin and flash supersu from there.
Hope this helps
Thanks you Lightracer!
Do you have an emmc chercher app to advice?
I'm going to read a bit more about rooting ans flashing ROM.
I do not really care about running Samsung Stock ROM or not. My though was to run an Android Stock ROM, without any "layer" (touchwizz, ...), And if possible, the most up to date version.
Is it necessary to enable TRIM if I flash a Android Marshmallow or Nougat ROM ?

Just check "Emmc brickbug check" in the play store.
If you want the stockiest rom, check out the unlegacy project in the unified section. Its AOSP 4.4/5.1 /6.0/7.1 roms.
TRIM is enabled in most kernels. But if you have the emmc brickbug, it might kill your tab X(
Good luck! Also press thanks if I helped ^_^

Allwinner A33 chinese tablet - Looking for custom ROM

Hi guys! I hope you're all doing well!
I want to create a project and just found a free tablet that I can use. It's an Allwinner A33-based cheap chinese tablet, branded as "Estar Gemini IPS MID 8128". It currently runs on Android 5 but I'm looking for a way to upgrade it (mostly to learn in the process). Has anyone heard of this tablet? I am a newbie and don't know what to do but maybe I need to make a custom ROM based on a higher Android version. Can anybody help me? I can dump the stock ROM if needed....
Thanks!

Which is the most stable, working ROM?

Hi Guys,
I have a Samsung gt n8010. As its original firmware does not work anymore, I need something newer. I don't mind customization or anything else then, that it "works properly" and security.
What do you recommend?
(If you include a how-to or point out to a tutorial, even better )
100% working then standard stock Samsung firmware .

I am using the Linage 16 found on here as my daily ROM. It is stable and it does everything I want it to do. It is slow on my tablet, but it brings me the ability to run the apps I wanted to use. The install instructions are in the first post. Update it using the included updater.
