Win XP and setting up to sdk - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings All
I'm a noob who has performed due diligence with the search function as best I could. I'm trying to do to my tablet what I thought was pretty easy with my phone. I'm just can't seem to get my xp box to see the tablet when its in boot loader mode. Why does the same computer that I used Odin with to do my phone not see this tablet? Anyone? Is there a tutorial for SDK setup for xp?

Need help with adb push method...

I keep reading about this method, but no one actually takes the time to explain how to get started doing it?
Like is it something that you have to do from your PC? Is it something you do from within ConnectBot?
What I need to know is what steps do I have to take to get to the process where I THEN start to enter in the coding?

Thank you. So far this is a great help. I'll make contact if I have any other issues regarding this.
Ok so one of the things that I'm not sure about is when I plugin my phone, I get a message saying that it's installing drivers for ADB. But then after a little while, it then says that it failed. I also cannot get HTC Sync to work either for some odd reason.
Running Windows 7 64bit.
Hi
Can't help you anymore. I'm running win xp and i don't really know about adb.
But i'll try to make a search for you.
What's your phone ? 1.5, 1.6....2.2 ?
Hi
Here's the link for hero driver (win7 64bit) http://handheld.softpedia.com/progDownload/HTC-Hero-Drivers-Download-81097.html
Hope it helps you

[Q] NVFLASH On mac?

Hey guys, I really want to install ROMs, but I'm pretty much a newb of this. I looked in the development section and found out how to download ROM manager and what-not, but I'm not sure, what is NVFLASH and can I download via Mac?

Only Windows and/or Linux. If you're running Windows under Boot Camp or emulation on your Mac, that should work too.
Also, please search a bit before making a new thread. I'm probably the 19th person to answer that question
Was doing some searching, couldn't find it.
I don't have bootcamp on my mac, so I'm assuming there won't be a way for me to install ROMs then unless I have a windows computer/Linux?
You just need a windows PC to use nvflash to install clockworkmod recovery onto your phone. Ask a friend to use their PC for literally 5 minutes.
If not, get a copy of Windows and install it on your mac via BootCamp. Having Windows as an option on your computer can come in handy (as you can see now).
Yeah, I can ask a friend, but knowing me I'd take forever. I'm new to this and not sure how to do this much. I know an employeee at t-mobile that knows how to do it. I can ask him for a favor and show me how to save my stock ROM, I did it before and it didn't come out too nice.

[Q] Bricked transformer, no nvflash, have APX mode

Hey guys,
I've got a TF300T running the 10.4.2.13 update (so the newest JB) without root, and no nvflash which is bricked.
I've got APX mode, but that's as far as I've got.
Any suggestions?
Help's much appreciated

Indeed that help much appreciated, but one question before:
Have you tried to search and read a little bit before to post your request? I don't think !!
Because if you had searched a bit, you would have seen that a few posts of this subject have previously posted.

Jay, I think what the gentleman above was trying to say (in a more POLITE MANNER) was that it is preferable to post a question after taking some initial steps to Google and search the forums. It's OK to post a question, but people just want to see that you've done some work beforehand. UNFORTUNATELY, various forum communities seem to antagonize new posters by harassing them to search, without really answering the question.
Try reading Here to see if anyone has had a similar problem?
Sorry I can't provide more links, as I don't know what nvflash/APX is, nor have I had a need to use it. Perhaps someone else can post some helpful links?

I'm not the author of this process, but apparently it works.
I haven't tried, because I use terminal emulator for my adb command
Hi guys, thanks for the input;
I failed to mention I spent a fair while (to no avail) searching for anything relevant to sort my tablet out, had only come up with "send to ASUS for repair" - so that's my bad for not clearing that up
philos - it's 2:41am here, I'll give your suggestion a go in the morning and let you know how it goes!
opethfan - I'm in the same boat for not having a clue what APX or nvflash do, nor have I needed them in the past...
I find it weird that my tablet just /died/ one day. Kind of unfair!
Anyway, I'll have a crack in the morning - thanks for the input gentlemen!
UPDATE: No dice, I'll need to install Windows 7 on a virtual machine to get the correct APX drivers working for my tablet, good thing that I don't have uni tomorrow! Round two tomorrow!

Cheers, yeah I'm running Windows 8 at the moment and it spat the dummy trying to install them, which I find weird because every other driver under the sun is backwards compatible...
Just installing Windows 7 now Keen to get this working!

And unfortunately no dice with Windows 7, so at this stage I think it's fairly safe to assume it's a hardware failure with my tablet. Called ASUS and they pick it up tomorrow, very friendly customer service!
Thanks for the help guys, when I find out what they determined to be wrong with the tablet, I'll be sure to post the result in here to let you know.

[Q] Unlock bootloader on a Mac?

I know the easy solution is "Use a PC", but I won't have access to one for awhile. After searching the net, I was able to find a way to root the phone via Mac, but unfortunately that didn't assist with the bootloader. I'd like to try out some ROMs, but if I can't boot CWM, that won't be happening. I was hoping it would be as easy as flashing VLRE6 in standard recovery, but no dice.
Any idea?
Sorry this probably should have gone in the help section...is there a way to move it?
Easy solution
Bootcamp your Mac into Windows.
Unless you have of those ancient PowerPC based Macs.

I'm aware of that option, but unfortunately I don't have a Windows OS license. I'd rather avoid the need to get it through other means...
I've looked into Heimdall, but can't find instructions referring to the bootloader. In Odin you have to put the file in the PDA slot and Heimdall doesn't seem to have a correlating section.

[Q] Asus Memo Pad HD 7 (me173x)

This has been a fiasco... Ive been attempting to Root, Unlock Bootloader, Install CWM, and Flash to HD Custom rom that is now out for this device. Ive found two tutorials on how exactly to do this and one video. The one originally posted on this forum by Superdragonpt has been modified by this forum and there no longer is any useful information or files available (after sifting over 120 pages in that thread) then there is another one posted on Android Forums here (http://androidforums.com/memo-pad-h...ad-hd7-us-backup-restore-unlock-recovery.html) using SP Flash Tool. However he clearly states that he was only capable of doing this walk-through on Windows XP and had limited success on Windows 7. As I am running windows 7 this creates an issue... There is also attempted to follow the YouTube instructions posted here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuNFx10cS2U) however the OP of that doesnt respond to his numerous requests stating that "App Not Installed" error upon attempting to install.
I delved even deeper to find the root of my Windows 7 errors. When using the SP Flash Tool Ive read that the battery needs to be fully charged and vcom drivers need to be installed. Well ok, I've installed over 20 different drivers from aproximatly 7-8 different threads on the SP Flash Tool, the battery is fully charged and there doesnt seem to be any conclusive resolution to any of this. The device seems to cycle between modes when you plug it into the PC full battery or not and the SPFT begins the process and stops the second the device cycles modes...
After all this research and work itd be great if someone could jump in here...

The forum your link leads to is down atm so I couldn't check it out. However, in the meantime, why don't you try booting Windows XP in a virtual machine, and give it a go there?

And virtually load drivers? Because thats where the issue is that Windows 7 only recognizes the driver for a brief 3-5 second window...

Yeah, you install drivers on the virtual OS and it should get detected.

Well that would be the proper course of action if you can get to CWM yes. Just don't forget to do a clean install, wipe data and cache.

Well, if the drivers on a virtual xp aren't working and you don't want to set up a dual boot with xp, then your only option is to send it to a service center.
