Is there any way to enable or add the option to choose 1000mhz in a kernel seem like it would be a sweet spot for running under clocked. Not opposed to reading and doing it myself if pointed in the right direction.

In which kernel?
What are you looking for - better battery, more stability, something else?

The standard max freq for the infuse is 1200mhz. If you want speed and battery try setting a profile in your cpu manager.
I use SetCPU and set my screen on profile to 1600/ondemand and screen off profile to 400/conservative.. Substitute 1200 for 1600 - this may get you the result you seek.

Not 100% sure on this answer, someone more experienced would need to chime in on this, my experience is limited to compiling Ubuntu generic kernel code just for fun and learning but I believe enabeling the 1000Mhz speed would require obtaining android kernel source enabeling the options you desire using "make menuconfig" in linux (there may be android development programs that could do this in a windows enviorment). and then re compileing the kernel. Heres a tutorial for android kernels http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748297

Just checked this out! Fastest way to drain battery ever. My screen didn't go dark completely, it just dimmed down and stayed like that. Luckily this is a script run by Script Manager, and it's activated when you turn off the screen.
Seriously not recommended

The newest faux kernels do this already, but thanks for sharing.

Funny, it has been working fine for me. For anyone who doesn't use an app like setCPU and is on the OLD baseband this would be great. This on the NEW bb WITH a screen off profile is even better. It's still not pre-new base band like drain, but I don't wake up with a mostly drained battery. I just looked at faux's release notes and it sounds pretty tailored to the new bb, so I think I will see how his does alone.

Jarvis kernel already have this implemented
Excuse me folks but alot of people can't use the new faux kernel and Jarvis kernel isn't exactly stable on all phones niether, the guy is simply sharing something he found, what about Harsh, Morfic, etc??? This works wonderfully with morfics kernel on Cm7.2 stable even with undervolting, I get huge battery saving now, so be easy gentlemen

I have a Skyrocket phone, running Sky ICS... and I've been trying to find out why cpu1 is off most of the time.
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpuidle/state0/time = 534677824
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpuidle/state1/time = 0
When I echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
And then cat the file back, the setting is zero.
How do I set it online? Is it possible?
Thanks in advance,
I flashed the a different kernel with Sky-ics and I use CPU tuner it shows I'm running both cpu's. I believe the ics update was to enable both cpu's anyway but then again I'm new to this and still in the process of learning haha give cpu tuner a shot hope any of this was helpful.

CPU...
Most of the time you probably don't want the other CPU running. 1 CPU is more than enough for most apps and tasks. I know Instigators Kernel basically shuts down one of the CPU's unless you need it. I am sure if you updated to the kernel in seans thread it also mods the CPU Governor. ICS by default has both CPU's going all the time.
So having 1 of the CPU's off is one of the benefits of modding. It saves precious battery. If you get a program such as CPU Spy, you should hover around 192 mhz when using the phone for light tasks. 1200+ is more graphic intense. If you start doing video and games, CPU #2 kicks in to help...
To change this setting on most roms, goto system settings>Performance>Processor and change the Governor type to one that suits your needs. I use Instigators Kernel with the Badass Script and I get AWESOME battery life and sit on 192 mhz most of the time and notice NO DIFFERENCE in the speed of the phone...
Hope that helps... if so, give me a Thanks...
If you punch CPU 1 in its kiniggits it will fire right up

I searched xda for init.d scripts and found a Google play store app that let's you select different tweaks in an easy to use format... i applied a few tweaks and have not had any issues with boot loops or phone malfunctioning... also... i just found this so I haven't tested performance...also...these tweaks are init.d which are available using dwiths tweaked 3.1 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895049 ... or use dslices scripts and tweaks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981446 to get init.d to work

so far... the best tweak was the disabling the sleepers... i did do the Internet tweaks... i got some of the best speed test results yet since I had the phone... but the Internet ping was short... so it may be because I was extremely close to a server...and my 4G at home is ok but not a clean 4g...so that test is not reliable... i would say it's a user preference

Best CPU Governor Tweaks?
Just curious to know what CPU Governor Tweaks are working best for people? Also, should the hardware acceleration and force gpu rendering options both be kept on together at all times for best results?

I use Tweaked 3.1 as my rom and it has always been best using ondemand for the governor... some people have used smartass when over clocking (tegrak is the only one so far reported to actually work to over clock our stock kernel) but this governor setting is not as good for battery consumption...so far I have only tested on demand(which I think is in dslices build of tweaked) some of these settings are new that I have not even heard of till this pimp my rom came out... One that comes to mind is the brazillion... the hardware excelleration I turned on but I left the force gpu settings off(I never tried it) because in the description it said it increased ram usage and the driod charge as one of its main complaints is lack of ram... these tweaks are so easy you can play and remove them as needed... that's what makes them great... it's you phone and you can make it like you like it...and if something really makes you happy... share it... please!... lol

Post here for your feedback on what you would like to see in the future for the Lightning Zap! kernel.
I want to know what are the most widely used governors, io-schedulers and over/under clock voltages.
I'll post some of my ideas here in a bit to get things rolling
Does it need any more? Quite the nice kernel, sir. Thank you again for all your help with getting mine up and running. You've been a valuable resource for me.
I'd love to see the badass governor added. Otherwise, it's handled everything I have thrown at it with ease.

smartass, sio and under volt were all I ever needed good sir. Your kernels always had the best deep sleep idle (1%)

Love the kernel sio/smartass combo is what I'm rocking...great battery life and super smooth keep up the great work. It makes it sooo hard to update to a new phone w the battery life I'm getting on my SR w this kernel and w Nibbles ROM. Any chance of you releasing a ROM of your own for the SR. I thought I read somewhere if you found the time you would cook something up for us...definitely would love that. Either way thanks for your hard work and time you put in for SR community we have greatly benefited from you

Everything seems to be running great no problems at all. I have heard a little about the RoW scheduler any chance this could be included in future builds?
Running ur latest kernel on this settings: i/o scheduler-noop,interactive governor,OC to 1677mhz and voltage all -50...I get really good battery life and great performance with this settings.

or since u know what init.d tweaks are, and are one of the few who do lol, u could just manually remove them yourself from the zip before flashing... just sayin
True. But I'm not sure if any of them are necessary for a properly functioning kernel. I know I can get rid of most of them for sure. But not sure about the governor tweaks

Day 2 on this kernel with Gs2usr's PACman rom. I'm on your recommended lionheart / noop, underclocked to 1026, and undervolted -50 across the board. So far I've gained 10% more battery life over the previous version on stock setup. It's been great so far man, thanks for showing up and providing the awesome kernel when we needed one so badly for the Skyrocket. You have been a true asset to the community since you've been here. Depends on the version, I believe the T11 base was built after October 14th so it should work. Just run a nandroid backup and try it. Worst that can happen is that it won't boot.
Slightly under clocked, noop i/o, interactive. Undervolted 100 across the board. Also running v6 script by zeppelinrox, along with seeder. Vincom superlite v8 with the LZ kernel. Awesome battery life. Thanks for all you do.
