Help!

I have a friend's HTC One X (At&t) that he rooted and unlocked the bootloader and he was attempting to install a rom. I don't know what failed but he ended up relocking the bootloader and wiping the phone somehow and now it does NOT have any type of recovery. I can get into fastboot but any attempt to flash anything gives a signature failed error. I am familer with Moto and Samsung but not so much with HTC. Any help would be appreciated greatly.:fingers-crossed:
Just put your phone in fastboot mode, and I assume he has super CID, because he had unlocked bootloader initially. Try to unlock bootloader from HTC Dev. Web site, after unlocking bootloader find twrp on development forum and flash it in fastboot mode. Then you will be able to flash Rom.

Run an ruu and tell him to read more
And post in the correct section

S-off boot loader question

If you relocked and ran a ruu, and decided you want to unlock your boot loader again do you have to use your unlock token? Or with s-off can you just unlock in fast boot (fastboot oem unlock)?

S-off bypasses bootloader lock. There is no reason you would need to unlock bootloader for anything.

Damn i wish i wouod have kniwn this last night lol... Wanted everything 100% fresh, so i relocked, ran the ruu, then got the unlock token from htcdev lol... I couod have shaved some time from the whoke process
Whats the best method redpoint? I tried to fastboot twrp while i was locked after ruu and i kept failing.... Would i be able to simply "fastboot oem unlock"?

So I can just ruu to whatever I want now...not locking back?

I'm sure fastboot oem unlock would work... You should be failing to install twrp there is no need of the bootloadrr unlocking...what's the process your taking to install twrp

I know you're quite intelligent and I'm not trying to step on your intelligence..but are you sure your putting in the right commands for twrp?

Fastboot flash recovery openrecoveryblahblahblah
I know the commands... Once I unlocked through htcdev it was success the first time I fastbooted it... I'm just trying to learn about the advantages of s-off lol.

Weird.
I had RUU'd my phone (to remove tampered flag) and left it s-off
At this point it says ***RELOCKED*** AND s-off
Attempted to "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"
Error: remote not allowed
Didn't work until I unlocked my bootloader again. :s

Did you lock your boot loader prior to ruuing?
And could you unlock by just fastboot OEM unlock?
Or did you have to do the whole token thing?

i think i left it unlocked.. and no, I had my unlock token on a USB from the first time.
If you guys just want it to say locked and are s off I'll post up a unsigned hboot you can just flash......I'll need a quick tester but it should be fine

My main thing is knowing if I have to lock the boot loader to running a ruu now. You used to have to. Wondering because if I end up selling the phone to a user who doesn't root, flash, etc...and I want to get it to stock...do I lock or not.

If your s-off just keep it locked. Unlocking doesn't give you any extra benefit

Can I still issue fast boot commands with s-off but locked boot loader?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Should be able to. Just keep it locked and flash a recovery to test it.

Weird. Either something else is going on here, or it violates the definition if S-off, which us supposed to mean all security is off.

Yep... But like I said earlier, as soon as I unlocked via htcdev process, I did the exact same command and it was a successful fastboot flash... But i haven't a clue, this is the first device I've ever had that was s-off ...
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Its just the bootloader doing what its supposed to do then. Evita will probably get a eng hboot at some point so it doesn't need to be unlocked and s off. In the mean time I would just keep it unlocked with s off I suppose. There's so many things I want to check with s off now but can't get my hands on one anymore
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
so weird.. I just wanted to start fresh like inflated. so I got the 1.85 ruu after I was s-off. it finished without issues, rebooted to BL and its unlocked. so problems if you relock first? just throwing it out there

[Q] Phone relocked with custom recovery, stuck in bootloader

I need some urgent help and I havent found any help in the existing threads. I flashed the boot.img for the CM10.2 rom thinking it would allow me to flash the cyanogen rom with no problems. However I still couldnt flash it and could not boot into my phone after that. So I followed some advice and relocked my phone.
Unfortunately, now I cant even get past the bootloader to do anything. Also everytime I plug in the USB to the phone, the bootloader constantly reboots so I cant even do any fastboot commands. Does anybody have any advice?
What are you bootloader details? Who told you to relock your bootloader? That doesn't sound right at all.

Are you SuperCID? If you can get into bootloader just unlock again with htcdev. Reflash recovery. Not that complex of a task. Locking bootloader is just making you start over again

[Q] Can I unlock my bootloader again as I have lost the unlock code to upgrade to JB

I have lost the unlock code file I need to upgrade to JellyBean, does anyone know if I relock it, if it is a matter of re-unlocking it?
Thanks!!
What do you mean unlock code to upgrade? The unlock code just unlocks the bootloader.

Hello, yes sorry that what I mean, i need to lock the bootloader so how would I unlock again without the code??
Thanks
Have you relocked the bootloader yet? Depending on what your end goal is you may not need to.

This is what I need to do to upgrade Hboot from 1.36 to 1.79, so I would get stuck on no 4
Even with the .zip method you'll need to relock/unlock the bootloader. It's NOT flashable in
recovery. Create a new account at htcdev.
Here's how to use the zip:
1. fastboot oem lock
2. fastboot oem rebootRUU
3. fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (do several times if it fails)
4. fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin.
Thanks in advance
Hang on, what phone do you have? You're in the HTC One XL forum and those hboot numbers are definitely not hboots for this device.

Oh damn it, I didn't realise, its just the normal HTC one x
Cool, head to the One X forum and the folks there should be able to help you out, good luck.
