Weird sound issue. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Alright I'm having a weird issue. My notification sounds don't work (texts, calls, etc) but my speaker DOES work. I was just playing music to test and dialed my voice mail and used speakerphone to hear. But as far as ring tones and notification sounds, nothing I do works. Suggestions? Could it be the 1/27 cm10 nightly?
*Edit* my alarm thankfully works too. I usually always wake up half an hour before my alarm goes off, but I sometimes have those days where I sleep until it goes. Like tonight will be one of those nights... Fresh off a 20 hour shift.

You gotta be a little more specific. Do you have notifications turned on? What Rom are you on etc. Can't help with the info you gave.

My post did state what rom I was on. And of course I have notifications turned on. >_>

It's very possible it's the rom. Flash back to stock and see if you still have the issue. Try a different rom. It's easy to narrow this down to a rom issue.

Not sure if it's the same on cm10 nightly, but on vincom's cm10 there is this settings menu
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

Possible your notification slider is all the way down? Which I think is the 3rd slider.

Yeah the slider is all the way up. They have expandable on all cm roms. I'll try a new rom when I gots time

it always going to be there like in the OSG2
I also found that annoying. I had to set my phone to vibrate only in silent just so the icon would go away lol.

Is there a way to change up the Toggles in the drop down notification area?
I want to put a 'Silent' toggle and lose the airplane mode.
or
Do we have to wait to get root and ROM'd to drop the shaky phone icon.

You want this:
[MOD] 14 toggle quick panel 10/16/2011
It's working on my skyrocket, use the stock odexed rooted roms instructions.
I just installed this on my Skyrocket and its working great. I'm still stock, but rooted.
One thing did happen, but I'm not sure why. I used Root Explorer and followed the instructions, right after I dropped the SystemUI in the destination folder, I started getting Force Close messages about every 5 seconds. I pushed through them through the rest of the process, rebooted and all was good. (So Far)
Just a heads up if somebody else runs into this.

[Req] SMS/MMS sent time , Silent Camera

Im suprised that no one has modded this or even requested for this mod yet.
SMS/MMS sent time and silence the camera during focus and picture taking.
Upping this request till its filled
the time on the sms should show on the message when it is sent and received, it does on mine using the stock sms client
put the phone on silent and the camera shutter sound isnt audible then

Lolwut?
Could you post a screen shot that is shows both time sent and received?
Putting the phone in silent mode does not silence the camera shutter sound.
Just rename shutter_01.ogg in system/media/audio/ui

Not to be rude but do you actually know what SMS/MMS sent time mod does?
It reads the time stamp when the carrier got the message and not when it went into your phone, same for example I send you an SMS at 1:00PM but at that time your phone is either off or out of coverage area and by 5:00PM you get my text message with a time stamp of 1:00PM instead of 5:00PM.

also when I pull the status bar down there is no notification about it and the icon goes away. I'm on stock 4.1.2
Hmm, looks...unusual.. You first thought was a music app or distorted weather notification. How long has it been there? Maybe try downloading "Air Push Detector" and see if that app catches anything?

I only have stock music player and google play music installed. And I know it's not from my weather app cause I remembering seeing this back when I didn't have this app. It's always been here, it shows up randomly for a short period of time and only on stock. And I usually notice it when starting up an app or I'll see it there after an app has started. Then I pull down the notification bar and it goes away. I got that app and scanned and 1 app came up but I remember seeing this status bar icon at a time I didn't have that app installed.
You actually get that as you would with 3 navigation on Aosp when you get the 3 dot overflow but does it with your notifications when you load something. Nothing to worry about unless it's constant while your actually on the home screen?

(HOW TO) Get PowerAmp working on 4.4.x ROMs.

I was playing around with CM11 today, and I was getting a little annoyed that PowerAmp repeatedly locked up between songs so I started to tweak it a bit!
There is no guarantee this will work, but these are the settings I have used to successfully get PowerAmp to work.
First of all, all of this takes place in the audio section under 'settings'.
1.) We are going to go to crossfade, gapless and fade section. Uncheck EVERYTHING. Make sure your settings look like mine below. (I think this is the main culprit).
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2.) Next, we will go to 'advanced tweaks' section. Audio thread priority and audio buffer need to be set to 'normal' and 'auto'. Below are my settings.
3.) Lastly, this is optional but it works for me. I turned OFF equalizer, and tone. I left limit ON, because it seems on CM11 the music gets distorted at high levels. With these my music is pretty crystal clear.
This worked for me, so I figured I'd share my results. Hope it helps at least one person out!
Also my music is currently on my external SD card, not sure of that makes a difference or not in the end result.

I left all of that as I had it in 4.3 and just unchecked direct volume control and power amp has worked flawlessly ever since

[Q] Quiet Hours possible on Sense?

So I was wondering if it is possible to get CM's wonderful Quiet Hours onto Sense? If not what is an app that works like the Quiet Hours setting. I love the Sense battery, wifi and over all stability, but I really hate having to mute my notifications everytime I go to bed and then have to remember to turn that volume back up. I have to keep the ringer active at night. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

You can definitely schedule the DND feature for certain times. As far as the ringer goes, you can select any (or all) contacts to bypass the DND mode.

Thanks. I had to add it to EQS because the rom I'm on I couldn't figure out how to get it to give me settings. I have it set. Testing tonight to see if it works.

I use a free app from the Playstore called Timeriffic to set times for many things.
Very easy to configure. One gap it has is it seems to think the ringer volume and notification volume are linked.
If that is not an issue for you give it a shot I think you will like it.
Thanks I will look into it. The DND is working out well now that I figured it out. Thanks everyone for your help.
