PRL... I know everyone is tired of the same old question, how? - General Questions and Answers

I'm hoping someone can help me out...... This is driving me nuts trying to write PRL to my EVO 4g LTE. I'm on CM10.1 with the kt747 kernel. I have tried the sprint diag. Way and it worked twice but ended up reverting back after a few hours. I also tried the method of dialing ##diag# and setting up that route without much luck. I'm not super technical but I know enough to get me by. Please please please if there is any magic way to write prls on the evo lte please help, my area has horrible 3g. Maybe this can help some others too.

anyone?
I even tried to find a sense based rom to do it and no luck.... Anyone help?

Update
spent waaaaaay too much time trying to make this work and I just wanted to throw out what worked for me incase it works for anyone else stuck. I installe D.F.S. and found the drivers for my phone to be found by windows 7, I did a full backup, ran superwipe, flashed the ur/evo rom, flashed my boot.img, ran ur/evo rom, dialed ##DIAG# and my computer finally found the phone!!! All i had to do at that point was put my msl number in the spd and hit send and i was able to mod the prl through the dfs program!!! Sorry I dont want to sound like a noob but Aosp PRL is something that was really tough for me to figure out.

[Q] IMMA NOOB I KNOW.. looping after trying to flash stock :(

Just want to say thank you for all the hard work from everyone involved, ive been messing around with roms and such since the days of the G1 and have love Cyanogen and XDA..
So I just got my Vibrant and was trying to flash stock on it using the AIO vibrant toolbox with odin.
It said everything was ok and finished and im pretty good at following directions since ive done it several times before although maybe not the same way on the G1. anyway my vibrant keeps looping the Vibrant logo screen and im just gonna go crazy here at work.
If someone would please be so kind as to point me in the right direction or lend some help with fixing it and getting the stock rom so i can flash bionix latest rom on there, I would be greatly appreciative!!!
btw im still searching all the forums i can to solve this on my own. i dont expect to have it done for me without trying on my own first
edit: I've tried 3 different peoples tutorials and versions of odin or files to flash back to stock and it still keeps looping the vibrant word.
still seqarching tirelessly every forum possible but every one seems to have the same answer which is not working for me... I am in need of some direction pls

modem install problem! Help please!

So, the power button on my captivate took a dump on me yesterday. Grabbed a skyrocket this morning. Got home and started reading. After about 6 hours of reading and familiarizing myself with the rom flashing process, I've decided on the [ROM]SKY ICS--- 4.2D-9 (4/28/12) rom.
So, I read and read. Think I've got it. Well, crap. I guess not...I'm on step 1b and can't get any farther- it says I need to flash a new modem before going to step 2... Grab the UCLC4 modem, flash via CWM like I'm supposed to. Well, when I go to get into the APN settings to create new APN per instructions in the thead, it won't let me in...tells me I need to install a SIM card. Problem is that my SIM card is already installed, it's just not recognizing that it's installed...
So, this happens. OH CRAP. I think, well, no worries, just reinstall the UCLA3 modem that was in there before, so I search, find it, install, and bam! I'm getting a signal...wait, though...no 4g signal at all! So, I think, well, I'll just worry about the new one, maybe it just needs a new flash...so I re-flash UCLC4, and get the same problem!!!
Can anyone help me out? I sure didn't have this kind of issue with my cappy, and the process seems the same, but for some reason, I'm feeling lost.....
****EDIT***
or, do I just need to flash the modem first, install everything, and THEN make the changes?
****Edit #2***
I'm also having trouble just getting the ROM file to download....I get to 12 or 13 percent, and it just quits....any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help. XDA folks really were saviors for me at times with the Captivate, and I'm hoping for the same here...

Yes. When on GB flash the ICS modem first, THEN flash ICS ROM. See here for mhx's ROM, and follow his instructions. That will get you on ICS quite nicely. Then you're free to unleash other ICS ROMs.

Good luck !
Excellent. Appreciate it!! I think the download issue is one with my comp...I've found that if I pause and resume download periodically, it goes smoother...
Well...another thanks to the folks here at XDA. Got it up and running and I LOVE IT!!

Restoring imei and efs on an unbrickable infuse?

Hi, the title says it all. Is it possible to restore imei and efs on a samsung infuse with unbrickable mod applied? Or unbrickable mod only possibility is to reflash the firmware? I mean i know that unbrickable mod is used to be able to get the phone on download mode but. Is it able to flash something to fix imei? Because i have tried just about everything to restore my Infuse imei with no luck. I know there are advanced tools to do so, But i was curious since Unbrickable mod go so deep in terms of changing that sequence i may be able to repair my imei somehow with it.
I posted an EFS repair file sometime back. It's either in a zip or a tar.
Do you have an idea on where is the file located(what thread)? My imei shows as null. I guess ill be able to fix it with that file right?
By the way, pretty cool to find another old school guy in terms of pcs. My first computer was an atari 400. Had a lot of fun with machine language and basic also. Every time i managed to draw a simple line with commands or maybe just saving programs using an old school tape recorder which was the old version of what we call cds and dvds nowadays ha ha... Oh that brought me some memories ha ha
Hey Truckerglenn, sorry for bothering you but i went thru every post you have made(all 19 pages) and i didnt find an efs file. Maybe its been deleted or something. The only thing close to that issue i found is the Restoring a dd backup with Odin (A fix for a badly broken EFS) thread but no file there. Maybe you can help me find it
Nevermind Glenn, i already found it. In case someone needs it heres the link to that thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1438113
Didnt worked for me, but maybe some lucky guys will be able to fix theirs with that file....
Sorry that it didn't work.
If you had an Atari400, then you'll remember the Happy boards that we used to put in the old 1050 drives. They made such a racket, but you could copy any copy protected disk.
Hey Truckerglenn, finally i managed to make it work!!! Wohoo! Im very happy, So when i was going to give up, i decided to give it a try again and heres what i did for the rest of the forum in case they have the same situation and want to give it a try:
I openned ODIN and clicked efs clear, I know its not recommended but i didnt have anything to lose so, I used the infuse unbrick files to take it back to FROYO, pit, pda and phone. Then i use your efs file and dropped it in the csc box. The phone flashed. And when it went into recovery i gave it a factory reset and rebooted. When it turned on Make shure enough it looked like nothing happened. But a couple seconds later the phone did have its signal and the baseband version was back also. I know its weird, but it worked for me. So if you have a phone showing no imei and baseband unknown why not give it a try??? You could not damage it any further than you already have!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great glad it worked. It'd been so long, that I'd forgotten the steps that I used. But now that you mentioned it, I do remember having to wipe the efs from within hemidal or odin.
I'm planning my escape from the digital world!

I'm glad you got this sorted out, enelyam.
I'm gonna post a link to this thread in the HOW TO thread I started so it can be reference for anyone else later.
Thanks for posting your results.
Add a [SOLVED] to your thread title so some other unfortunate soul (not wise enough to have 10 EFS folder back ups like me) who borked their phone later can find it too.
Thank you all got my imei back.
I have already hit the thanks button but felt compelled to write it here as well.
I was really hoping this would work for me, but when I dial in *#06# I get a "IMEI NULL/NULL" pop up. Any other ideas that could possibly work for me? I really don't want this phone to end up being just a music device.
didnt work for me either

[Q] Samsung windows upgrade tool&fl24

Hi looking to see if anyone might be able to answer a couple questions I have . But, first if these questions have already been addressed somewhere forgive me. I tried to find some info on it and to be blunt. The info I did find confused me. Here is what I am trying to figure out. I have the sph d710 BST. Just to let you know where this is going.....What I did was I flashed my phone with the complete wipe JB upgrade file from rwilco12. .Everything was working fine . Voice, SMS....Except for data. I could see the bars on phone and it showed a 3g connection. But no matter what I tried including calling Boost Tech. I could not get any data. They wanted me to factory reset. Nope....I know better. So, anyway now I see where the official upgrade is available from Samsung. But one of the prerequisite is to be on Fl 24?? .. When I was on ICS. I was on the Boost FI22. So my question is ...Isn't Fl24 a sprint kernel? I did find one that said it was ported to boost. What should I do? Go back to stock and flash this kernel? Also if anyone has had any experience using the Samsung windows upgrade tool for JB.. would you share what you did and how it worked? Thanks and sorry for the long story.

[Q] LIkely a idiot noob question, but I dun goofed and idk how ot fix it...

Basic rundown, I bought an HTC One M8 on tmoblie yesterday, coming off an iphone 4. I've heard you have have have to root your android devices, so that was one of the very first things I did. Shortly after, I was trying to figure out exactly what I could do with the root, and decided to flash a custom ROM. I tried the Google Play edition posted on the dev section of this same forum. Everything worked as planned, except for one huge problem: my data no longer works. I can connect to wifi fine, as well as send texts, but no 4g lte access anymore. Idk if this is a common problem, if I'm doing something simple wrong, etc. I made a backup in TWRP, and saved it to my desktop, and tried restoring my phone to see if that would help, but I must have dne something wrong there too, as it doesn't show any files when I try to restore under TWRP.
I would greatly appreciate any and all help or tips. I'm new to the android rooting scene and should have taken it more slowly. I thought I had done sufficient research, but I guess I ****ed the pooch somewhere along the way. Thanks in advance.
