[Q] Official JB OTA on HK HTC One XL - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi all,
I've a HongKong HTC One XL (2.42.708.3), bootloader unlocked, rooted, TWRP installed and still S-on. Yesterday I received the notification that the OTA JB update is available for the phone.
Before stating the official update, what do I have to do ?
Do I need to unroot ? Remove TWRP ? relock the bootloader ?
Or do you think, it's easier to go to an rooted official JB ROM ?
Thanks for your advices,
Vince.

New official update for HTC Chacha found 1.57.720.3

Hello Everyone,
I just received a notification that a new software update is available for my HTC Chacha here in India: 1.57.720.3
I am currently on 1.57.720.1 and have unlocked and rooted the device (no custom rom installed)
I have a question:
If I update to this version, will I have to root my phone again? If not, then what is the benefit to update to this version??
Should I update?? I don`t want to lose my root ability.
Don't update, you will have to re root. If I were you I would get cm7 or cm9 they run very well and are much better than the stock ROM

Tried what?
Those listed there on htcdev are NOT ROMs. Those are kernels. You download those and then get the android source code from google, then build android for yourself using those kernels. Which should be for ICS but it has been discussed in the dev section and they seem to be for GB.
Further more, I have compared the 4.0 India and the 2.3 India and only 3 GPIO files have been modified. So it's GB kernel with 4 more lines of code.
So Alex C.
1. this is not ICS?
2. Will i get it stable on my chacha!!

yes it will lose warranty but there's always the possibility of the service center not knowing you've rooted and unlocked bootloader if you flash back stock rom.

[Q] HELP E8 M8Sn back to 100% Stock

Hi guys,
I need your help!
I purchased this device with already installed TWRP and superSU.
In attached image you can see the actual situation:
This is my first Android device and therefore are not very skilled.
What is the best (and easiest) to restore it as it was originally?
Looking in the forum I found WinDroid Universal Android Toolkit, may be useful in my case?
My os is
1.05.401.1
Im m8sx user
Yours is 1.06.401.1
Try to flash my stock recovery so you can update your phone when OTA is available

Try to flash recovery stock via fastboot, and unroot your device from supersu app. Bootloader lock/unlock is indifferent for ota update. You will need a stock rom with stock recovery and unroot device..

If this is a vzw m8 then you will need to use sunshine to unlock the bootloader (and turn s-off) to root or install custom roms.

You cannot downgrade while s-on. Once s-off you can flash whatever you want as long as it's compatible with your phone.
