Try with another SD if you have one. I had the same issue, turns out my sd had become corrupt. There's no way to restore it, even though I'm still trying. Hope I helped

853mb still remains in phone??

Blank SD card error

Since flashing to the most recent updated ICS I've had issues with my SD cards. Once the phone gets started this error appears....
Blank SD card
SD card blank or has unsupported file system
This error happened with 2 SD cards and at first I thought it was done for but they work fine on my pc. When the phone suggests that I format the SD card I do it (no worries since I backed all pics up on the pc) but I still get this error and it really doesn't format because I still see the files on the pc
Can't browse (from phone or recovery)
Can't mount to mass storage
Can format from the phone
Again I can view files, delete etc from the phone no problem
Is there a fix for this issue? I really need to get my SD card working...
Thanks in advance

[Q] sd-ext help

I have an lg p500 with an 8gb memory card an I've been reading a lot about sd-ext.
So what are its advantages and disadvantages????? What's the risk behind it(using vivekkalady's cwm touch 5.0.2.7)???? What's the swap size??? What do you suggest for me to set swap size and sd-ext size???????
Thx in advance!
Make sure ur card is class 4 or higher else it will actually slow things down.

Yes it is but what are risks behind it and what's swap size??
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
Sd-ext partition is used to store apps and data by android(512 mb is enough for class 4 card)
swap partition is used to have virtual ram like thing(not needed for general avg users, if u want then 32mb is enough)
o1 has enough ram so won't need swap
---------- Post added at 12:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:19 AM ----------
ONLY sdext degrades SD card very slowly
SD ext + swap will degrade comparatively quicker
advantages more internal memory(SD ext) and more ram(swap)
Is it risky?? What happens when I remove SD card after partitioning it??

Partiton will not be read by anything other dan ur phone ... for ur sd card if u put a 1gb partition and 256mb swap ur pc will read it to be 6.5gb card ... and yes sd ext and swap degrades sd but in a long time
pls hit thanks if I helped in any way

if u have moved apps to SD ext and then removed the card then tried to boot, ur phn won't start. so once u link apps to SD ext u have to keep SD card connected. only remove when phone is off or in recovery

I have the message "SD card unexpectedly removed" and later "Preparing SD card" many times a day !!
But the SD card is not realy removed .
I tried many solutions but in vain. The problem persists.
I tried :
-Rooted and unrooted phone.
-A custom ROM [ Custom ROM + Kernel ] TechnoDUOS For Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 [1.5 BDSky STABLE] .
-Speed Bosster App ; I set current cache size (128KB) to 2048 KB .
-Tried Speed Booster on a rooted, and an unrooted phone .
please help me , or give me a solution to solve this problem .

I already tried another SD Card but it's the same size and class (class 2).
I didn't try a bigger SD or a higher class SD.
Your SD card works fine ? you have never seen "SD card unexpectedly removed" again ?

yep , I tried . I think it's a bug for this device.
I'ill try an SD card Class 4 and see what will happen.
mastertempo tried a class 4 sd card , and the problem seems to be fixed .
So may be it's THE SOLUTION .

My phone sees the SD Card in the storage menu but somehow complains when installing apps that there is no storage. My card is 1 GB.
Thanks

[Q] [H] unable to switch on after changing sd card

hi my pico was unable to switch it on anymore after i have changed my sd card (my fone is rooted with jaggy cm)
but before that i copied all in all files from the old sd card to the new one and then after i inserted it did not switched on
anymore and i accidentally reformatted the old sd card which is i think the cause of switching failure because i think that
the fone will only recognize the old sd card with installed files and data from the fone and not the copied files with the new sd.
please help me with these i really love my pico can someone help and explain this for in and other users with the same problem.
