Hi,
In some apps and games I'm trying to download when I try to download it, it just says "Downloading" with a green bar and it doesnt do anything.
I tried to wait a lot of time, tried hard reset, tried clearing data and cache of the google play store...
What could be the problem?
Thanks in advance!!!

I didnt check that but if its a code -24 you can try going to /data/data/ and delete the associated folder with a root file browser and try again.

IF YOUR ROOTED I'm not sure about about astro. Maybe it cant use root? If your rooted you can try root browser. Not sure if es explorer has root abilities. But I have fx explorer which is great. You may have to toto the menu button on the navigation bar to enable root abilities for your file manager. Then browse to /data/data and delete the folder like "/data/data/com.not downloadingappfolder"

Yup I use ES File Explorer for this, in the settings you have "root explorer" options you need to enable.

Not exactly related...but adb still works the best...for me
Super manager in the market, wen you DL, you have to go to super manag. Options and check root otherwise its just a file explorer

EStrong's File Explorer has a root option too, but the last time I tried using ES, it would only ever work once. If I rebooted or exited the app, I'd have to FC it and Wipe Data or else it'd hang up trying to open back up.

that worked, thanks!
folks, newbie here.
i noticed that there are 2 types of file explorer, the system file explorer that allows you browse around the /system/ directories and the media file explorer such as andro file explorer
could anyone please advise me any file explorer that allows me to access both /sdcard/ and /system/ directories please?
i stumbled upon this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=716309 that recommends root explorer, but it doesnt allow me to open /sdcard/ directories
thanks in advance
I use ES File Explorer and Root Explorer. Both give you full access to your phones file system, including /system and /sdcard.

They do, es file explorer is free, and allows you to to lan shares from pc. Just have to enable root options in settings. I have both, but I currently use es file since I can access my pc from it.

thanks kleeman for the info,
I have a rooted HTC One X ATT version, running on non ATT network (brought it to asia)
it doesnt allow me to tether out of a box nor play downloaded glumobile games.
i've browsed xdaforum and found out there are several files in root directory that need to be replaced to fix this.
so i need to access /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
(which root explorer allows me to access, but doesnt allow me to access the sdcard directory)
whereas ES only allows me to access /data/data/
did i do something wrong with the ES?
thanks again

I don't get why you think you can't access your /sdcard with Root Explorer, you can access EVERYTHING with it.
And with ES you have to go into the settings an enable the root explorer to be able to access everything.

MetalHead,
Thanks, it works! now i can access the directory path.
one last question, whenever i tried to edit /system/build.prop
it doesnt allow me to save it after editing, or replace the file with a new one.
i'm referring to this xda article which i cant reply since i'm a noob with less than 10 posts
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714298
please help me if you dont mind.
and as for the root explorer, i have no idea why it doesnt work. one touch of back button makes it "unfortunately root explorer has terminated"
thanks again

You have to mount the file system as read/write otherwise you can't edit anything in /system. Navigate to /system then hit menu >settings, then scroll down all the way to the root settings section and check the circle next to Mount File System. You will be able to edit the build.prop after doing that.
As far as Root Explorer FC'ing on you, I dunno man I've never had it crash on me once in the 3 years I've been using it. Try deleting it and re-installing it.

Check /data/app, there's likely some com. file or odex or something else from the app still hanging out there.
Also could try searching for 'call' or 'block', etc, with a file manager and see what shows up. May not necessarily contain those words though.

Sometimes apk's are bad. Do soft restart (battery out for 30 sec. while device is on) and try a different apk.
If not then need to re-flash.
How do I get to odex file data/app?

Use a file explorer to navigate to /data/app and /system/app/ and I believe /emmc/ followed by the same directories also may contain the problem file. You can navigate to these with ES File explorer, root explorer, tons of options for file browsers.

I have an Alcatel OT 918A (gingerbread 2.3.6, kernel version 2.6.35.7) that I just rooted, but unfortunately while trying to remove bloatware I accidentally deleted the live wallpaper launcher & now I can't open the live wallpaper gallery. help anyone?
Also in trying to remove the bloatware from the phone I keep gettin the message "cannot remove system app. failed to locate the apk file." Is there anyway to get around this?
search google for the name of the app you deleted (eg. livewallpaper.apk or whatever it was called)
and use root explorer/root browser lite or any other root file manager, go to system/app, mount as r/w (in top right corner) and long press the app you wish to delete

Hello,
I'm failing to install Asus Day Scene 2.2.2 on my Galaxy Note 10.1. Please help. it simple says "Application not installed"
Where did you find that app?. Installing it, supposed it is an .apk file:use a file explorer like Solid Explorer, go to system/app. Solid Explorer will give permissions for you. Just copy and paste. Reboot and try if it works
