Greetings,
I work with video surveillance solutions and I´m receiving requests from people who wish to monitor children, staff, etc.
I tested an app called "IP Webcam". It´s cool, but it´s not exactly what I need. It needs to generate a true rtsp string.to work with my solution.
Is there any app to stream the phone camera video feed through RTSP protocol?

Hi,
I have a quick question / favor to ask. I often times like to stream audio and sometimes video on my device. Sadly, the site I use refuses to work with WMP on the phone. I believe it is an asx stream.
I believe CorePlayer supports this stream, but before I go out and buy it, can someone please be kind enough and verify for me if this stream will play? http://www.megastacja.net/kanaly/CLUB/club.asx
Thank you
PS. I would have checked it myself if there was a demo... sheeee...sh. lol.

What about .flv? TCMP is able to play them, but is coreplayer?

The best I can tell. No. CorePlayer won't even allow me to choose a *.flv file from the Open Menu... hidden out.
My dream is hulu on my Winmo device, But apparently this will not happen without their blessing.
But I do think that Joost would be more simple, They seem to be more open, and they already provide a app for the iphone http://www.joost.com/iphone/.
So what do you guys think? is it possible? If it is, Will someone please start working on it? and... Oh please, a QVGA version is a must, I've got a touch
Skyfire will run HULU
A dedicated app might be nice, but in the meantime Skyfire will stream HULU shows without much problem.
There is another possibilitie, you could use websites to stream video or audio.
Use something like http://www.todaypda.com/stream/ with CorePlayer.

or www.orb.com with mycast

Maybe somebody knows some good app for Android which can stream wma files as well as mms:// web content ?
I know only one app yxplayer, but I really don't like the interface and it can't stream in background. When you minimize app it automatically closes. I have not tried paid version so.
Help appreciated,
Whitealien
Overview of available mms streaming apps (currently known to me):
1. RadioTime [Paid] [Rating 4.09]
[ + ] pretty awesome app with more than 3000 predefined world wide radio stations. Really nice interface, finds radio logos, possibility to save presets and chose varios streaming bitrates if available. Direct search option or find by radio stations by genre, language or country. Reads podcasts.
[ - ] not possible to add custom urls. Paid. Try TuneIn before purchasing this.
2. TuneIn Radio [Free] [Rating 4.62]
[ + ] same as RadioTime, but free. Really nice app.
[ - ] not possible to add custom urls. It works only with WiFi, wtf!!!!
3. yxplayer [Free/Paid] [Rating 3.42]
[ + ] currently the only app I know which allows to add custom radio urls
[ - ] other than that this is holy crap. Interface is horrible. It does not play in background. I understand that this app was developed to play or stream video files, but then video playback on HTC Hero was horrible. So I did not tried paid version, maybe its better.
For test purposes:
Radio name: Radio SWH
Address: mms://80.232.162.149/SWH_stereo
Protocol: mms
Audio format: wma
Bitrate:128Kbps 44100 Hz
Stereo: Yes

Are you trying to stream .wma from home or something? I'm not sure about mms: but Subsonic is pretty awesome. You can stream just about anything....mp3 wma flac...whatever. The Android app is free but you have to pay for the server side portion after 30 days. It's well worth it I can assure you....

+1 for subsonic. I use it so i have access to all my music. Just need to make a donation (of any amount) to the developer so the android app works past the 30 day trial.
Technically I want to stream Web radio which uses wma standard and mms:// protocol.
No, I'm not streaming audio from my home network.

Do you have a sample link we could play around with? I have a EVO and I'm a bit curious as to what it would do with the extension.
Have you looked at the app RadioTime ? It's very nice and has about any channel I can think of that is web broadcasting.

Unfortunately Radiotime is paid app. While its pretty awesome with over than 3000 predefined radio stations it does not allow to add custom urls . Also there is free add supported version of this app called Tune In which I recommend to try before buying Radiotime.
Radio I'm trying to stream is mms://80.232.162.149/SWH_stereo
I'll try to keep this thread updated with available radio streaming apps.
Thank you so much for all the info. Until now I was using YX player with the horrible interface. Recently the YX player stopped working for my mms URL so I had to find something else. I was looking for weeks until I saw this post.
Eventhough TuneIn Radio will not allow me to add urls I found the radio I was looking for among the thousands available. The interface is great and the sound quality was good as well.
I highly recommend this app and I would be willing to purchase the paid version if it gives more options than the free version.
my TuneIn Radio works over 3G
so
yeah
Maybe it has to do with the fact that I also have RadioTime
What about mms protocol videos/movies? Thanks!
One thing that I seem to be missing in the marketplace is apps that does live-streaming of video, the latest to be added to the list is the MLB app that has audio-streaming, but no video streaming of live games, so is it WP that doesn't support this, or is it the developers that doesn't want to?
Live streaming from or to the device? Otherwise there doesn't seem to be an issue with live streaming to the device. Considering a number of RDC's use similar features. No clue about streaming from the device though.
Stream to the device, take my MLB example: At Bat 12 for Android and IOS can show live gamestreams , but WP7 can not. (And the WP one is even more expensive, but that's another case). An then there is sites such as Ustream, justin.tv etc that doesn't seem to be available on the platform.
If I remember there was a 3rd part Ustream app, but watching livestreams didn't work.

What is the "live gamestreams"? If you mean "live sport game events": WP7 can perfectly stream live video; but seems like a content providers don't care much about WP7 support.
Yeah, livestreaming of games, thanks I guess we just have to put some preassure on the developers then.
I've been looking for an app that does this for me as well, mainly for gaming content. There are quite a few out there that seem to be able to stream live video content, like the RedBullTV app and I believe there's a Youtube Live app as well, so with my limited developing-knowledge, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.
FlashVideo For WP7 has recently added support for several "Live Video" sites, mostly sports at the moment though. Not sure if this specific update has hit marketplace yet, but the changelog are up on his site. Can't link a source due to low post-count, but it can be found if you look up the app in the marketplace.
I've been briefly corresponding with the developer as well, asking if he would add support for justin/twitch.tv and own3d.tv, and I believe he would seriously look into it, but it seemed to something that would be added in the future because the sites "have many protections", in his own words.
Guys, as I've said before: technically it's very possible, not a big problem, live streaming are perfectly supported by WP7 (via MS Smooth Streaming technology etc.). The big problem is CONTENT. Nobody will develop app to play stolen content - for ethical reason or because app will be banned from the mp shortly. So direct your questions to your sports channel providers...

What of sites like Justin.tv who seem to encourage people to make use of their tech for own applications?
We believe that the future of video is live. Our API enables you to use Justin.tv's infrastructure, for free, to easily power live video in your own applications.

I can't link to the source directly but it can be found if you go to justin.tv and click on API at the very bottom.
justin.tv/p/api
Again, my knowledge of development in general is very limited, so I have no real idea what the significance of this is... Would be grateful if someone could enlighten me and if it could mean the possibility of a third-party app?
Thanks.

From what I gathered, OP was asking about live-streaming apps for WP7 in general and he also brought up both Ustream and Justin.tv in another post so I figured it was relevant to the discussion.
Is there any significant difference between "professional sport event live video streaming" and services like Ustream and Justin.tv? The latter have provided streams for sport and competitive events in the past as well, and continues to do so.
Nope, you are wrong. He wants to have "livestreaming of games". I don't watch games but I'm pretty sure there are no free live broadcasting of the Red Sox or Bruins games on Ustream and Justin.tv, for example.
P.S. 2 OP: you should mark your question as answered 'cause WP can handle live streams. Your second question "why I can't find app/service for that" is a different question
Fair enough! I guess this is what confused me...
An then there is sites such as Ustream, justin.tv etc that doesn't seem to be available on the platform.

Regardless, I guess it's a discussion for another thread. Thanks for your clarification regarding live streaming and WP7, it's something I've been wondering about as well!
And again, to OP, the developer for FlashVideo for WP7 has stated that he will add support for several "live sports streaming sites", I don't know if there is anything of interest to be found there but still worth a mention I feel.
By the way, as for temporary solution you may use Skype and broadcast live event yourself from the home PC equipped with video capturing board and connected to your cable box
What I'm looking to do with my SGS3 is WIRELESSLY mirror the audio, and video of my phone to a HTPC/Mac. Apple via "Airplay"allows for this in iOS and it works BEAUTIFULLY using a client on the pc/mac like AirServer, or Reflection. I find it difficult to believe that this is not available on an Android platform. The problem is, searching for such an app almost always results in finding remote desktop apps n such. Watch a video using Airserver or Reflection, and you'll see what I'm looking to do. I've seen media player apps that'll send videos/audio, but not by mirroring the actual Android device. I know I've gotta be missing this somewhere.
There's an app called MirrorOp Sender that sends the video to a connected receiver/client, but it's VERY slow, and does not support the transmission of audio. MirrorOP Sender also requires the device to be rooted. Not like that's a huge deal to me, but perhaps to someone else.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Here's the video I think you might have been talking about. I was unawar that TeamViewer allowed for the control of a phone FROM a pc. I thought it was only to control a PC FROM a phone. Thanks! But it should be known, though this is a seriously cool option. Audio still does not transfer over the wifi, only two-way video communications.
And so the hunt continues for something like AirServer and Reflection on Android. Don't necessarily nee to control it from a pc/mac, but would really like a wireless audio/video presentation platform for Android.
Bringing this post back to life in hope someone has a new idea. Can someone please explain to me why the ability to mirror audio and video from Android to a PC/Mac isn't available yet? Thanks

I too was looking for an app like this and honestly sat there and started to wonder why i actually needed it.. can you explain a senario where this make sense and why an app that beams audio/videois not a good enough solution. hell i am with you on having more options including a featuer like airplay mirror, but maybe untill such application exists i can suggest good enough work arounds because like you i spent MANY MANY hours trying to figure out how do do this mirror thing with no dice. but i did find nice workarounds..
Holy hell, finally I think we might have a solution. I haven't tried it yet, but clearly, we aren't the only ones in need of this feature.

Looks promising. SplashTop 2 works other way round but is too damn pricey.
Just reviving this thread because I am also looking for the same thing. That app posted in the last post, BQScreen, as far as I know doesn't differ from the one the OP stated. Both apps don't transmit any audio, they just mirror the screen. MirrorOp is kinda cool because you can control it both ways, you can also use your mouse to click buttons on your computer to control your phone. Keyboard also works so you can reply to all your whatsapp msgs from your computer but at the end of the day it doesnt transmit any audio.
I use a galaxy note 2 and have never had the need to do this before because both the tvs in my house that get the most use happen to have a computer in the same room and I have them set up to just send the computer's screen to the tv screen and use unified remote/xbmc remote to do whatever I want, thus ending the need for allshare cast/apple tv devices which in my opinion offer an inferior experience than a full fledged HTPC.
The problem is that I have a tv in a room in my house that is getting more and more use lately and it doesn't have any way of showing netflix or youtube or all the files I have in my media server, etc. Basicaly, no access to the internet and I bought the tv right before all the smartv craze started. I am now on the search of a way to mirror my phone's screen (or anyones) to that tv in order to give that tv some added value. Of course I would still need to have some kind of reciever in that tv to get it to work so I really don't know what I am searching for. In the end I will probably end up purchasing an allcast dongle and use it specificaly for that tv, that way all tv's in my house would have access to all the media in my house and the internet but if anyone here has another option, I am all ears.
I have google tv and youtube connects nicely, i'm not sure if that's what your looking for though. I just connect and it plays the video on my tv.
Reviving this i case the 4.3 framework has changed to allow this functionality. If someone with knowledge of such things can chime in that would be great!
Bumping this topic, years have gone by and still no solution?
mirror from koush is the closest thing ...
it's meant for airplay so you can just install airserver on your pc
Chromecast
Google Chromevast
Looking for the solution. AirServer works on Windows and promises Google Cast support but it looks like it only casts audio from Chrome desktop tab. Google Play Music app discovers the chromecast device but music doesn't start
