Hi,
I also had some troubles recently and I did a lot to actually be able to boot again.
This may be a stupid question but did you really install CWM or does it boot to the standard recovery? I had some troubles installing CWM in the beginning.
My first step was to install CWM (I used TWRP) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851548
These steps where mentioned in some thread but I cannot remember where:
1. When flashing CWM through odin untick the "Auto Reboot" option within Odin.
2. Flash CWM.
3. When done , press power & volume up ( the one apart from power button ) until the Samsung logo appears, then leave both buttons.
4. CWM will appear.
5. Choose "Reboot System now "
6. You will get a new screen with an option mentioning something like " disable flash recovery" , press it & reboot.
7. Now if you get back to pressing power & volume up you will have a permanent CWM.
I had to do a full wipe to install a new firmware and I used stock 4.1.2 DEODEXED - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909950
After the wipe I installed via CWM (TWRP) and loaded the firmware from external SDCard (it has to be FAT32 at least for mw exFat was not working).
Good luck!

Thanks so much for yiur anwser
Yes i Had success flashing CwM on odin and also I unchecked auto reboot as I said I dont know why my volume button are reversed holding volume up and power after flash it will bring me back to odin mode... very wierd and there is not problems with my tablet is only one month old no. buttons damaged

I flashed the German 4.1.1 onto my 8013. when I went back to ICS to get the official update I was stuck on Samsung logo. I had to reflash the ICS a second time and then I was all good. I didn't have CWM tho, I was rooted with the exynos exploit

If you are able to boot into CWM (and you do not have any relevant data left on that tables) do a wipe again (there are several wipe options).
Cache and Dalvik Cache wipe is very important and I also do a wipe for /system, /cache and /data.
Then try to boot into CWM and install the ROM from there. For me only the installation via SDCard worked.

Hey man,
Heres what you do.
1) Boot into download mode, and flash the stock JB
Get CWM High on Android from max at rootgalaxynote.com heres the link http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...t-galaxy-note-10-1-easiest-methodcwmmethod-2/
The file you want is the root galaxy note 10.1 zip.
2) Open ODIN and flash Max's CWM high on android.
3) Reboot Recovery will work now. BUT WHEN YOU TURN OFF YOUR DEVICE IT WILL AUTO REBOOT, SO WHEN THE SCREEN GOES BLACK AFTER YOU SWITCH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY START HOLDING VOLUME UP PLUS POWER. WAIT FOR THE SAMSUNG Galaxy note 10.1 LOGO TO FLASH ON TWICE. LET GO OF POWER AND CONTINUE HOLDING VOLUME UP, WAIT UNTIL CWM RECOVERY STARTS!!
4) Wipe data factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache three times each in that order.
5) Reboot and wait up to 10minutes for the device to boot VOILA!!! You have your not3 back on stock JB or ICS whichever you originally flash!
Please donate if this helps and thumbs up!:good:

JJE if you are going to rip off my method of getting back to stock from bootloop at least do it right..
Getting back to stock from bootloop has been the same for years and does not need such a convoluted method as yours .
Fixed enough bootloops on multiple devices including Note 10.1
But if it works for you then use it one more method of fixing boot-loop is one more tool to save the day .

Your method doesn't work.
Convoluted by definition means too complex to follow.
In the context of successfully getting a device step by step to a working state it is the steps that are necessary for understanding. Especially for many beginners.
Convulsion is not the same as clarity. Which is lacking in your response to Manny.
Der cwm error. Reboot CWM.. Der. He mentioned being unsuccessful at getting into cwm.. derp.
You posted on a thread I made about bootloop after update check on root injected FW. You said the easy method to get out of bootloop is to flash stock FW through odin. That method doesn't work. It also shows how your opinion changed thread to thread...

Hey Guys I really appreciate both of you, If works or not I least you guys are trying to help this is cool, here is the updated news I know you guys will say it was dumb but i send it to samsung say what they say I'm 90% sure they will say I root because my odin mode was counting 30 already lol and it was saying CUSTOM , So if they denied to fix I suppouse to get it back when I get it back we will try to fix that crazy bootloop I will be back here as soon I get my Tab back but for now Thanks so much for the help

Mate if you send to Samsung there won't be a bootloop problem... They'll probably flash the stock rom, find it doesn't work and replace the motherboard....
Depending on how nice the repair guy is it might cost $$$ or nothing...
Here's hoping you get a lenient guy....

galaxy R bricked?

hey everyone.
ive been trying to get into cw mode for some time, but i couldnt make it anyhow. so i tried these steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406880 but while flashing, odin said failed (sorry i didnt note down the failure message) and i unplugged the phone. maunally switched it on but now i get a message "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again."
think my phone is bricked. i have an usb jig but i dunno how to use it and i cannot get into download mode. please help me, i know this may not be the right place to write, but you all know about 10 message treshold thing..
thanks
"firmware upgrade encountered an issue" message will come when something fail while flashing with ODIN, switch on in Download mode by pressing Vol Down + Home Button + Power button simultaneously and flash any stock firmware with ODIN everything will be fine.
yepp, tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406541 steps and its ok now, i can even get into cwm.
but the problem is, when i select sth power off for example, nothing happens, all writings selections everything disappears and just a cwm logo remains. i am not able to have a back up or do anything else.
by the way, i'm using 2.3.4 turkish rom with wlxkga(i think) kernel. what happens if i flash a stock/custom rom 2.3.6 german? am i going to change language to turkish?

how about my second question?
why do i always getting failure message when i try to flash *.tar files? im sure im doing everything as directed?
AND PLEASE ANSWER if i can install titanium rom on my xxkg8 (or xwkga i dunno which is correct, both of them are displayed from phone)
u cannot flash .tar via CWM lol ONLY via Odin
About flashing titanium over xwkg8 it is recommended to install XWLA4, but If you don't want to flash XWLA4 via Odin you may just:
1)Wipe data /factory reset
2)Wipe Cache
3)Wipe Dalvik Cache (within advanced)
4)Format /system (within mounts and storage)
And then:
Install zip from sd card (choose titanium rom)
It shouldn't be any problems. But remember do it on your own risk !

i definetely understand "on my own risk" thing whenever i fail flashing im not very experienced but hey, why are you here huh?
last question: does every custom rom support every available language?
Duuude...of course not it depends on rom, some of them yes (AOSP based roms), but most of them (based on official firmwares that are created for regional markets)...unfortunately not
Since I do not own the device I cannot tell you about turkish language support on Titanium, but I'm almost sure it does.
As long as you can boot into Download Mode and revert stock it's not a irreversible problem (even when you fail flashing). Boot loop is in most cases not a reason to panic. You may start panic when you cannot turn your device on
ok thank you guys..

p6200 Cant access recovery, bootloop on 3.2, stuck on samsung logo 4.0.4

Hi, sorry for my bad english. Im from Vietnam, and im having a p6200
last night i tried to flash an the galaxy hd, the modified stock rom, through cwm, and i forgot to put it on external sdcard, i put it on the internal sdcard, and it failed to flash when system is erased. I've lost all my backup, because it was on the internal sdcard, but i still have the cwm recovery at that time.
Then, i tried to flash the 4.0.4 stock firmware through Odin. Flashing was ok, Odin show PASS!, but my tab is stuck on the SAMSUNG logo forever. This time looks like i've lost my root and cwm. I cannot access CWM nor stock recovery.
Then, i tried to flash back the stock 3.2, flashing still ok, but my tab got bootloop on the Samsung galaxy tab screen. I've tried the Vietnam fw and the UK fw both. When flashing is done and it's about to reset, ive seen just in a flash that there were 1 or 2 red line say that cannot access data/recovery... something.
I tried the emergency recovery in KIES. Never worked.
Now im out of option. I got bootloop on stock 3.2, stuck on 4.0.4, and i cannot access the recovery. Even when i try to flash recovery through Heimdall, it wont work. I can only access the download mode. By the way, the phone is neither stuck or bootloop, but it still charging through AC very good.
Did i hard brick my tab? Do i have to send it to warranty? Is my warrant now void? What options left do i have?
Panicing

You are not alone.I was running 4.0.4 on my p6200 and was experimenting with the permanent CWM recovery and the temporary touch one.One thing led to another and my tablet was stuck at the samsung bootanimation. After a couple of reboots it was stuck at the galaxy tab plus logo. Finally it wouldn't boot anymore and my tab is literally dead.It doesn't respond to USB connection although it gets warm when plugged into an AC socket.I've been reading about the solutions extensively. There seems to be two : 1. Get it exchanged under warranty or 2. Get it Jtag-ed if you are out of warranty.

that would work, unless you have a hard brick. of course, you should try it, and see if you can recover from the bootloops.
Hey guys it seems i have found a solution. Just find a stock heimdall package rom and flash with heimdall. Somehow heimdall seem to be able to do what odin couldnt. Now my tab is running stock ics smoothly. Just use heimdall to flash. I hope this gonna help someone who in the situation like i was.

for others, don't ever wipe on any temporary recovery mode (Touch version) or ics stock recovery. Only use for flash root.zip and flash permanent recovery(cwr6.0.1.0).

I don't know if I bricked my phone trying to install custom recovery...please help..

I followed the instructions on the following website in order install jelly bean onto the blaze.
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_t769
I finished the first part of the instructions up until where it says "You need now to manually reboot the phone into ClockworkMod Recovery mode by holding ." I did not know what to press since it has nothing after the word "holding" in the sentence. I did some research on Google to figure out how to do this, but without any luck. So, I think I just pressed the volume and up + down+power keys all together and then released the keys after the screen turned off and I felt 2 vibrations. after a few seconds the screen turned back on and it displayed the following:
==========================================
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-T769
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES(1 COUNTS)
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
**shows an image with phone, computer screen, and a yellow warning sign**
FIRMWARE UPGRADE ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE. PLEASE SELECT RECOVERY MODE IN KIES & TRY AGAIN.
===========================================
Now, no matter what I do, the phone keeps booting to this screen. As I understand it, I have to boot into recovery mode manually and then follow the instructions from the second part of the instructions list and install the jelly bean OS. How do I proceed from here because no mater what i do like removing the battery, sim and sd card and powering up again, it keeps going to this screen and it won't go beyond it. should i have followed the instructions on that site? and by the way, the only reason why I didn't follow any other site installation instructions is because I thought it would be flawless since it's an official instructions page for the cyangenmod ROM.
Thanks to everyone in advance for your kind help.

Just a soft brick. Very common, and very easy to fix. Unfortunately, I don't really know what to do. I think you must flash another proper firmware in Odin.. don't quote me on that though... just letting you know you can take a sigh of relief.

ok great that's good news!..
so i did some research and found that i need to use fastboot with adb to install this rom. but I cant find any instructions on google that tells me in clear simple language how to use it properly. i have the fastboot and adb files. i am able to run the fastboot console application successfully. but, i dont know what to do at this point. The phone is in the download mode warning screen where it tells me to press volume up or down keys. I have the phone plugged into the computer. so, is the battery being charged right now? I'm afraid it may die on me.
I'm reading those instructions from wiki.cyanogenmod.org for this and it is very unclear and meant for advanced users. I need plain simple instructions..
I typed in "adb reboot bootloader" and it says "error: device not found" and typing "fastboot update cm-10.0.0-t769.zip" says "<waiting for device>" but nothing happens.. it just hangs there.. and this was happening even after I installed the official samsung drivers for this phone.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help out this noob. thanks.

"Repartition" checkbox in Odin program will check itself automaticly when you load the PIT file, dont forget to uncheck that, or you will be in a much bigger trouble than the one you are in now...

ok great that's good news!..
so i did some research and found that i need to use fastboot with adb to install this rom. but I cant find any instructions on google that tells me in clear simple language how to use it properly. i have the fastboot and adb files. i am able to run the fastboot console application successfully. but, i dont know what to do at this point. The phone is in the download mode warning screen where it tells me to press volume up or down keys. is the battery being charged right now? im afraid it may die on me.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help out this noob. thanks. :crying:

thank you for this info..
Following the instructions above restored the phone to the older stock rom for the blaze. so, what I am going to do is find clear, simple instructions on how to update the phone to jelly bean 4.1.2.
before restoring to stock though I managed to find a key combination to get the phone into the clockwork recovery mode screen. [press and hold volume up + down + power keys --> then when you see the samsung logo, release the power key while still holding down the volume up + down keys.. hold the keys for a few seconds and then release. --> recovery screen should be displayed] so I did a factory reset and then put the custom rom on the SD by inserting the SD card into the computer and then inserting it into the phone. I then chose the option to install the zip file from the SD card but it says "can't open file (bad)". This was the latest stable version of cyanogenmod. I tried nightly versions too and i got the same error message. I don't know if my sd card is screwed up. I doubt it, because I was able to use it with the phone a few days ago. how should I install the jelly bean update?
should i do it through rom manager or via the SD card? can someone please point me in the right direction? thanks.
Yeah, your doing to much work. All you need is download mode and Odin.
Fix the soft brick from the above link. Then just go the cwm Odin thread, flash cwm. Then install any ROM you want from the Dev section. Don't use wiki for any info on the blaze. Use xda!! Everything you need is here, including helpful folks!

You were probably in the stock recovery, that's why it didn't flash.
Since you restocked, go to this thread and flash cwm recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591622
Then boot to it and flash the latest cm10 nightly and gapps from the cm thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922935

Theres a zip file called "gapps..." short from Google Apps, you need to install that too on top of the CM nightly zip file in order to get the ROM working.
Now that you back in the stock 2.3.6, you need to instal CWM again because you wiped it instaling thru Odin.
Once you have CWM, and the 2 zip files - CM nightly and the gapps, you go thru CWM and wipe the system first... then install the files, CM first, gapps after, heres what u need to do in CWM:
1. Advanced-->Wipe Dalvik Cache
2. Wipe Cache
3. Factory Reset
4. Install zip from SD card-->Choose zip from SD-->install CM nightly zip
5. Install zip from SD card-->Choose zip from SD card-->install gapps zip
Read some more here:

download the Google Apps (gaps) zip file from the OP, and go do it.

I just had something similar happen. Yesterday my phone started boot looping and it eventually got to the point where it wouldn't load past the Samsung screen. I did a bit of googling and followed the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591601 to a T. Everything worked on Odin, but now I'm stuck at the firmware upgrade encountered an issue. I tried to do it again and it all works but I get a NAND WRITE: ptn_erase fail on my device over and over, but Odin says it passed. I feel like I've tried everything. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks!

Stuck in CWM mode.Please help.

Hi friends,I have flashed the Custom recovery through odin.Everything was fine till morning today.I am still on latest stock rom, downloaded from sampro.pl.Today morning I flashed the multiwindow file by Omkar using CWM and my phone is not booting since then.It has stuck in CWM.I have tried everything.I wiped data factory reset, removed battery and tried to power on.but every time it goes straight to Cwm mode.Even when in off condition if pluged to power,it is automatically opening CWM mode.Odin is also not decteting the phone. So I can not even flash the stock rom. Please somebody help me.It's very urgent.

Are u using stock rom or monster$ rom
If yes than go to system/etc
And delete install-recovery.sh
If there is no such file then just leave it[tat install-recovery. Sh is already been deleted in monster$ rom if u find it then just delete it]
Don't use any app too flash zip
Like rebooter, rom manager
Go to recovery manually don't use any app to boot to recovery
Btw I never stuck on cwm

Remove Battery and power off the phone now PRESS VOLUME DOWN+HOME+POWER and it should boot to download mode if not then you need to follow omkar steps....
Why So Serious?!
Thanks for the help friends.Problem resolved.Actually I had flashed Onkar's rom after reading the suggestion given above. But it did not work. Then I flashed the stock recovery through odin. But phone got stuck at samsung core logo and never go forward. At last I had to flash the latest stock firmware and it worked.
I am still confused, why the phone got stuck in Cwm.I had never experienced such things with my earlier phone.

1- go to download mode manuly
2 - reflash cwm with odoin
it works for me but every time i use cwm to do any update i have to do these steps again
i'm not an expert but i think maybe there is something wrong in cwm

Sir, dont know how to go to the download mode manually & my phone is also not connecting to my lappy. ???????
This will solve your problem.....xD
Just follow this method ...
1. Download and Put this attached file in external SD
2. Install this zip using CWM recovery..
3. Turn off your mobile through CWM advanced menu or by pulling out battery..
4. now enter into bootloader mode using ( vol down+menu+power )
5. Reinstall CWM recovery using Odin.. ( don't worry this you will be connected to Odin trust me....)
6. Install new Roms or ignore it if you dont want...
All the best.........xD
Please note that this problem comes most from force recovary restart by any apps......so enter into CWM through buttons is safe .

Try mounting system it helped for me. If it has not helped, flash stock revovery using odin and remember NEVER reboot to recovery on core using any app script. Flash cwm again after you roll back to stock recovery and use three button combo first hold vol up then home and then power button and hold it till the heptic feedback (vibration continues) and to enter download mode or we say bootloader mode for odin just hold vok down key insted vol up key.

hi guys
I'm stuck at download mode. Odin does not recognize the phone, but the computer does. drivers are properly installed.
I have i8262. I rooted the phone with framaroot. When I got stuck into recovery I installed CWM_De_Loaper.zip.
Now I'm stuck to download mode and Odin does not see the phone. No recovery no nothing.
I have to say that since the first time I got the phone everything goes wrong. I gave it to support and they flashed stock rom already one time. I couldn't do it because Odin does not recognize the device (while drivers are properly installed).
I don't know if I missed anything. I'm desperate. HELP.
Thanks
Well, I have sorted it out. I'm not sure what the problem was though...
It worked on another computer. Drivers are properly installed to both of them. KIES is not installed on the computer that didn't work and I suspect USB problems as well.
I cannot be sure of the nature of the problem...
Thanks anyway
Same problem Bro
Dude i am facing the same problem as uh were facing please guide me how do uh did that please bro itz very urgent uh know na how it feels

.TOT recovery -- Model Error

I have stock recovery and can't boot. My model is currently reported as "g2" thanks to the mahdi rom which I screwed up flashing.
Has anyone been able to flash back to a stable firmware by bypassing the model check (using a special .dll, anything?).

i had that problem once and this is what i did...
i booted back into recovery,TWRP or CWM,
i had TWRP , went to advanced wipe and wiped everything,
system,data,cache,dalvik cache
powered down and put it back in download mode and reflashed stock.
it seems that if you dont wipe system it is still picking it up as whatever model rom you flashed.
hope that helps...

So adb is accessible through stock recovery? I hold down+power until the LG logo, then release both, and press both again. This takes me to hard reset menu, not recovery. I press power three times, the andriod guy appears with a progress bar (i think it is attempting to factory reset here) and then it reboots. Everything I seem to find on Google/XDA indicates the only way to access a recovery mode is through a custom recovery.
If it's really this simple I'm going to flip.......ha
