Hi Guys!!! :victory:
Even if it seems I’m a New User, I’ve been reading on your website for very Long time and I gained a LOT of experience with android phones thanks to you GENIUS DEVELOPERS and I’m sure I can share my experiences in this forum to help as well as been helped!!
Now, after days and days of research, tests and missed sleep hours, :silly: with Proper ROM, Kernel and Accessories I “ALMOST REACH” my final dream Phone thanks to you guys!
Wait, I’ll explain...
Basically my Girlfriend has the Samsung Galaxy S3 and I have my HTC Sensation XE...and the S3 is one of the most "complete" phone I’ve ever seen! It does EVERYTHING I’ve always wanted from my phone....by “Stock”!!!!
Now, I’m SURE you can understand me guys...I saw what an Android phone can do and I KNOW my sensation XE has the potentiality to do MUCH MORE that the limits that HTC put on his stock ROM without modify any hardware so it can become as powerful and complete as, let’s say, a mini-S3!
This is become my challenge, my goal (and MY OBSESSION! ) and after AGES...I ALMOST reached it....I’m very Close and I need your help and I’ll offer mine as well to make the “FINAL SENSATION ROM”!!
Now, after this LONG and BORING introduction:
What I want from my Sensation XE is basically the most “Complete” phone possible:
1- OTG USB “Fully Working”
2- Bluetooth drivers compatibles with applications like Sixaxis to connect the PS3 controllers
3- Keep a “Fully Working” MHL-HDMI
4- Keep a “Fully working Beats” and the compatibility with the mic and the play\pause\next\prev buttons integrated on the Beats cable for Sensation XE
5- Increase volume Loud-Speakers
6- Improve Battery
7- Improve Camera
8- Improve performance and boot time
9- Various personalization
And now I’ll share all my experiences:
--I first Fully rooted my phone
--Flashed PG58IMG.zip with Firmware 3.33.401.6 for ICS ROMs (HBOOT-1.29, Radio 11.24A, 4Ext 1.0.0.5-RC9, ADSP) ALL IN ONE!!
--Tried the first ROM:
Sense-o-Maniac - Sense4.1 v1.2.0
1- OTG USB not working
2- Bluetooth drivers NOT compatibles with applications like Sixaxis to connect the PS3 controllers
3- MHL-HDMI video-out not working (only audio and black screen)
4- “Fully working Beats”
5- Better volume Loud-Speakers
6- SUPER Improved Battery
7- Improved Camera
8- Improved performance and boot-time
9- Few personalization and tweaks
--Then I added the “Overclocked_kernel_v1.5.2_by_SebastianFM” to the ROM and magically I had:
Sense-o-Maniac - Sense4.1 v1.2.0 + Overclocked_kernel_v1.5.2_by_SebastianFM
1- OTG USB working 90%; keyboard, mouses and even cabled PS3 controller perfectly working BUT to Mount Hard drives and pen drives it was necessary the app “USB\OTG HELPER” and to mount another sensation as USB-Disk-Drive it was necessary the app “USB Host Controller”. No “system support” so no auto-mount hard drives, USB-Storage not listed on “settings\storage\” after the “Internal Storage” and the “SD Storage” and no media-scan of the USB-Storage’s content in the gallery (No images from USB device appear in gallery, no songs in music, etc)
2- From 2 to 9 pretty much the same.
--then I discover the GENIUS KERNEL “PYD-X - 3.8.1 beta – ViperS” and another point of my list was working:
Sense-o-Maniac - Sense4.1 v1.2.0 + “PYD-X - 3.8.1 beta – ViperS” kernel
1- OTG USB working 90%; Everything like the Overclocked_kernel_v1.5.2_by_SebastianFM plus the tests done with the “Sixaxis controller” app and the “PS3 PairingTool” which don’t “sense” the PS3 controller via OTG (even if buttons and sticks works around the menus) and keep asking to insert the controller via USB to change the PS3 Controller Bluetooth MAC-Address
2- Bluetooth drivers COMPATIBLE with applications like Sixaxis Controller (v0.5.7 only) to connect the PS3 controllers (after change the controller’s Bluetooth MAC-Address by PC) but it cause the WiFi to stop working until the reboot
3- From 3 to 9 pretty much the same.
--Then I decided to try other ROM:
Elegancia-Sense4.1-v3.2.0
having EXACTLY the same results.
--and keep trying and trying I suddently had MUCH better results with:
“ViperS_1.6.2” ROM + “PYD-X - 3.8.1 beta – ViperS” kernel
1- OTG USB working 90%exactly like in the 2 previous ROM
2- Bluetooth drivers COMPATIBLE with Issues exactly like in the 2 previous ROM
3- MHL-HDMI --working-- PERFECTLY!! (after turn it on in the Venom Tweaks Misc Menu)
4- Fully Working Beats like previous 2 ROMs
5- MUCH Better volume Loud-Speakers(The Best!)
7- Slightly less Improved Battery than the other 2 ROMs
6- Same Improved Camera
8- Improved performance and boot-time
9- LOADS and LOADS of personalization, tweaks and BEAUTIFUL ANIMATIONS of the menus
--so at this point I was quiet satisfied of the results but I wanted to fix that problem with the Compatible Bluetooth drivers and the WiFi so I tried the last test version of Pacha’s Kernel
“PYD-X 4.1.9 + kernel reset (non-bootloop)”
But somehow it broke the MHL-HDMI even on ViperS ROM
so I went back to the 3.8.1 version and changed ROM to the Rock Solid
Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_6.8.0_XE + “PYD-X - 3.8.1 beta – ARHD” Kernel:
1- OTG USB working 90% exactly like all previous ROM
2- Bluetooth drivers Sixaxis-COMPATIBLE with NO ISSUE AT ALL!! Wifi and Sixaxis worked perfectly at the same time!
3- MHL-HDMI --working—PERFECTLY!!!
4- Fully Working Beats like previous 3 ROMs
5- Same Loud-Speakers volume as stock
6- VERY Improved Battery
7- No much Improved Camera (I hate the sensation stock camera!!)
8- Improved performance and boot-time
9- Almost no personalizations at all so a little too “STOCK-Look”
--so at this point I was VERY happy but I decided to try anyway few AOSP ROM without sense and the tempting JellyBean:
CyanogenMod-10-20130109-bruce2728-pyramid,
OpenSensation2-20121210-pyramid
And the best of the 3 AOSP in EVERYTHING I tested:
AOKP_pyramid_unofficial_Jan-20-13
1- OTG USB working 100%!! The System recognized and mounted instantaneously (without any app) all USB-Drive I tested and all the media in the USB magically appeared in Gallery and Music. “USB Storage” was now listed in “Setting\Storage” and it perfectly “sensed” and paired the PS3 Controller without the any PC’s Help.
2- Bluetooth drivers Sixaxis works quick and FLAWLESS without any issue already at “Method 1” of the Sixaxis controller app
3- MHL-HDMI sound ok but the video out is full of issues and instable
4- Workaround for the beats that seems to bring the good enchanted beats sound but loses somehow the compatibility with all the buttons (play\pause\next\prev) integrated on the cable
5- Improved volume Loud-Speakers
6- Improved Battery
7- Improved Camera (I personally still prefer the VenomS’ Camera)
8- SUPER Improved performance and boot-time!! The phone is SUPER SMOOTH, it boots in HALF TIME of other ROMS!!
9- LOADS of personalizations and a general sensation of smoothness and pleasure for the eyes with all the animations
CONCLUSIONS:
I thank you very much all who had the patience to read this until the end, I say sorry for my English and if I said something stupid feel free to correct me and PLEASE guys (since I'm NOT allow yet to write in Development session), make sure Venom Team, ARHD Team, AOKP Team, xXxPachaXxX, SebastianFM and Every Sensation Developer (sorry if I don't Name ALL of you  ) read this so they may see which are the good and bad points of them ROMs, collaborate and make the best Complete ULTIMATE SENSATION ROM!!
I will help as much as I can with Donation and to test on my phone, Just let me know which Log you need and I’ll Post!
Ps.
Love you Guys!! :good:

Hello elvisypi!
if you can, PLEASE feel free to move or tell to move my thread in a better place...:fingers-crossed:
I didn't want to post it in Q&A because the goal of this thread it was to give to ROMs and Kernels' developers some Ideas of what is great and what is missed in them work but I still don't have rights to write in other threads and in here it's quite useless...
I don't think any of the developers I mentioned (or not) do even know yet of this thread existence...:crying:

On that note, don't worry about devs not knowing what's good and bad about their roms.
Presidential candidates aren't as scrutinized as a new rom on XDA.
If something doesn't work on a new rom, the dev will hear about 25 times in the first hour, then another 30 times after he corrects the problem and posts a new bug free build. And then some idiot will show up 3 weeks later without searching the thread and ask why he's getting that bug even though he hasn't updated his rom to any of the 20 newer builds since the bug was fixed.
Pick any rom development thread...at random...read the whole whole thing, and you will see this pattern repeat itself over and over and over. Try not to get too annoyed by it...but it's hard to remain calm sometimes.
So while your guide is great for other users trying to pick which ROM is the best one for their needs, you're not telling developers anything they don't already know. It's great information, but it's other users who will benefit from it.
You have really done a good work n I feel u have seriously searched a lot and made a systematic thread this vll surely help newbees to select roms n get some knowledge......

Skipjacks thank you for your replies, they are always constructive!
Believe me I read few >>FULL<< threads and I know EXACTLY what are you talking about...sometime it’s just FRUSTRATING!!!
I’m VERY happy to help other users but the reason I would like some of the developers to read this thread as well, is because it’s not a “this doesn’t work, please fix it”-thread, but more like “this doesn’t work here but it DOES WORK in there but there doesn’t work this but it WORKS in here”-thread, so the Genius Developers can help each-other “fusing” all the working features and make the “Complete-Sensation”
I also would like them to know that I'm offering my help as a tester since I have a spare sensation, OTG Cables (powered and not powered) and MHL cable and I think they may need “Hamsters” like me to try on their new betas!
Anyway I guess I will just wait until I’m allowed to write in developers thread and place a link to this thread, all I want is to be helpful! :fingers-crossed:

OH Yes! Mr Developers USE US AS YOU WISH!!
Related
I think that, after has proved two roms that there is in this moment, many of us have valuable contributions that made to help to perfect the final score. I have seen many very positive dispersed suggestions for the different threads that treat the topic.
I think that it is better to open a thread exclusively for suggestions and only suggestions (although they could accompany oneself of a comment) of progress, which is plain and practical for the consultation of the creators of roms.
Also I think that if some suggestion is debatable, we could debate on it and even to vote if we weigh that it must be included or not.
Clearly, they will take their own decisions according to what here they see and of their own perceptions; but it is sure that we serve them as help.
I begin with my own suggestions:
Only for that of Phil:
- To include the STK services to be able to use dual sim.
For both:
- To support most of free possible memory, by means of:
*To install only a source for defect and to be able to have others by means of cabs
*To include neither Windows Live nor the Office, not even Voice Command for defect. To add them in cabs.
- If someone manages to make to work this, to include in the rom (WLAN IP Manager) since it would solve the one that for me is the worst defect of Tornados: the inability to get connected with fixed IPs.
Thanks
PD: I have seen many different, as one on a driver for the joystick, someone on the starter, others on the multimedia player, etc., that also would like to see me implemented, but I hope that there should be the first ones in contributing them who posteen here, so they will be able to make it much better than I.
Excuse us, to me for my horrible English and to Google for his horrifying Spanish.
You are contradicting with yourself. You are saying that they must leave as much free memory as possible and then you are asking for a feature only a few of us will ever use.
I believe the roms must be left as clean as possible. A couple of things such as HTC tasks, file manager, comm manager etc. may be default. But other than that anything can be left out. This way we guarantee that everybody has his own OS style (like linux, unlike windows).
Right now I am using Phil's rom and it is quite stable and fast and I am very satisfied. There are some debug related applications in it which will probably be removed in the next release. And the rest, for me, just works like a charm.

Which? If you talk about STK services, to where I understand I believe that it is an own service of the phone that does not consume resources that only become “visible” when there are several options of to switch on. I do not believe that that is to request a new characteristic, but to correct an error. If you talk about WLAN IP Manager, the same. It does not do more than small adjustments in the registry to correct a tremendous error of the Tornado.
I do not see that it requests nothing else, but good, if some of the things comes aside in cab installable, because better.
It seemed to me very interesting something of a magnificent one to driver for joistick, but no longer I know nor by where it walks.
In order to themselves separate the possible discussions of the suggestions, I believe that it is going to be better to put in negrilla these last ones. In case the creators of roms want to review the thread of a look it will be more easy.
i did have a small list of improvements made some time ago:
ok phil.
if u remove windows update, at least supply it as a cab in the extras folder.
channels don't work.
long pressed side button does not work! it used to start voice note record for the sda and i'd like that to work.
mms.
better camera software. btw htc camera makes the phone SLOW..... not a good one. need an alternate
enable profile switching to silent when long pressing '#' key
default folder for saving pictures on storage card is not my documents\my pictures any more but a lame dcim folder. that would be nice to be changed.
also, sometimes when answering a call, the keyboard stays locked, the call is still on, but the home screen is active and not the call screen.
joystick seems much better but sometimes it doesn't want to work as it should. maybe another driver; if not, this one is good
we need wpa2 for wifi enabled.
also add in the extras folder:
moblue
tcpmp with extra codecs
htc audio manager could be good
if u need the cabs for moblue and htc audio, i have them
there is an newer version of sim manager. v6.10. has a couple of new things (got it if u need it)
and maybe add a good version of opera. not the java one.
we also need a good midlet manager
also a good instant messaging program. maybe a multi client one like oz mobile im, or like im+

Very worked, correct an useful list. I am in agreement with almost everything.
I believe everybody wants is a small, fast and clean ROM, with the latest and more reliable drivers.
Imho, any application that is not mandatory, OR if could be installed in SD should be packed together with the ROM in a ZIP file, so everyone could choose which extra features to install.
Since the extra features installation take some (lot of) time reset or first installation. - It would be Great if someone could manage to create a package installer, where the user may choose what "extras" to install.

Excellent idea. Save lots of time. (Excuse me for I put it in "bold")
Headset profile is missing
I would also add Autokeylock and Right Menu in ROM. They seem to me two essential littel applications.
right menu is not free.
i don't think it's a good idea to include all those 3d party, just the esential stuff (as mms, camera, etc).

Ohhh. It's correct. Excuse me. I thought that it was free. It's mine for a long time.
I agree totally in the rest, but… for me Autokeylock isa essential stuff.
Just give us a basic version, do not include things which can be installed in storage card to maximize the available space
Well said, I agree.
oh yeah... i did forget one bug for my list:
the wm6 t9 does not work right. it seems it has been borrowed from a chinese rom or something because when you switch between typing modes with the * key, it displays some chineese characters.
To break the Modaco xT9 language pack so only the necessary language can be installed .
Very important. About 2.5 Mg will be saved. I know It by experience

Ditto. Good idea!
Hi!
Since last week, I've been working on an usable kernel for the HTC Vox. I guess you've already looked at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368014&page=5
More or less, I have a working kernel. I've tested some images against the modified kernel, and both Gpe and Opie get to the welcome screen (without getting stucked). Nothing is really usable, as they're not even compiled for this specific platform (cannot get to compile opie for arm by myself... yet), but as a base, it's not bad at all.
As I've seen on my previous post, there's people interested on this (3300 views make me believe that), what I would want to know is, are there more developers interested on building a linux port for the Vox? Testers will be needed also, but later, when we get to something useful for testing
If you're interested, reply!
Cannot help u develop anything here, but would be a willing tester for it... thoroughly
I'd love to help, but I'm in the middle of moving to a new place and won't have internet most of the time next 2 weeks.
Do you have a Wiki or other place for collaberating? SourceForge perhaps?
I do have a wiki, but upload is no faster than around 80kB/s
In case you haven't seen it, you have a new build of the kernel on the other post, along with links and a little manual to start a graphic environment on the vox.
@barth666, @StefanHamminga
I've been thinking about it, and... I don't know what to do I mean, I think Sourceforge is the best place to dump it all, and it gives us a wiki too. On the other side, here is the xanadux wiki, and maybe it would be a good idea to let sourceforge host the files, and leave the wiki in here with other HTC phones... what do you think?
Oh! For GPIO dumping, the only thing I've seen working is the linwizard project's Haret_Omap.exe (in case you want to try to guess where the damned keys are )
PS: Anyone has an HTC Tornado? I'd love to know if the tornado kernel makes the leds and vibrator flash, I can't find where they are!

I have a tornado (and vox and wings), so tell me what to test
I know from the ml_iPod wiki (I am the admin) that SourceForge is really slow and the Php and Sql versions are old, in case you want to set up something like MediaWiki! You might want to try http://code.google.com/ , it has a built in Wiki and you can host files!
Just a suggestion
Keep up the good work
EDIT: I could even set one up, if you want, but I am not into coding at all!
Hi! Sorry for the delay, but I'm having lots of work this week and I've been unable to keep on with this...
@Walram: On the following days I'll try to build a kernel for you, wich should put all the lights on and makes the phone vibrate until you take the battery out Obviously just for testing, it shouldn't break anything, but I need to know if the originally-made-for-the-tornado vibrator and led drivers actually work on the tornado... Thanks!
@Frauhottelmann
Didn't know that google gave that service too! will look at it this weekend and post back when I have something done with this.. thanks for the feedback!

Hi!
Ok, here's what I want you to try. If you haven't downloaded it yet, download the Linux Test Image:
http://rapidshare.com/files/93938763/test.zip.html
Then, download the kernel for the tornado:
http://rapidshare.com/files/96145010/kernel_tornado_driver.tar.gz.html
Dump the contents of the first file to the memory card, and then overwrite the file "zImage", with the one from the second link. Run haret, and hit "Run".
It should, at least, boot. If it doesn't, tell me where it gets frozen (could be that you only se some dots on the screen, whatever appears, just tell me )
If it boots, don't stop looking at the leds (charge/bluetooth leds mainly), they should, at least, flash -theorically they should stay on all the time-. It also should vibrate, at least for a quarter of second
I just need to know what it actually does!
Thanks!
So what about a dev-page? Then you don't need to upload it to Rapidshare and you can see the progress better!
Hi frauhottelmann,
I'm going to tell you the truth. I think it would be better if it's you who admins a site for this project than if I do, for various reasons:
1. I started all this thing, but I'm no owner of anything, by now I just hacked four things to make this phone boot a kernel, but no more.
2. I've seen your work at the ml_ipod sourceforge page, and think it's usable, clean, and nice, and I think that's exactly what we would need (even if it's a little slow just as you stated in your previous post). I could make the graphics for the web (I'm quite decent at photoshop), but I have never built a wiki, or a project anywhere else, and I don't know a sh** about it, so that would be another big thing to learn, and for now, I gotta learn more about the linux kernel, and that itself it's huge.
3. I don't think I can handle work, classes, building patches, kernels and bootstrap images and administrate a site, it feels like too much for me
Conclussion? I think it's better to let people do what does better, and I'm quite sure you'll do it better than I, so if you want, it's all yours
PS: In any case, we will need a name for the project, any suggestions?
What I have heard from the ml_iPod developers is that upload to SF is not a nice process either. I still think Google code is better, although it's not as customizable as SF.net. But we could also set up a page on Googlepages (pages.google.com) and then point to the Google code site with the Wiki and downloads!
I can offer my technical know-how (SPL, GPIOs, etc.)
Since I have little time you should ask me precise questions for which I can try to find the answers.
Sorry for the delay...

So we can start using google code, and stick with it if it goes well. We can always change the hosting if something goes wrong! About the wiki, the easiest thing is start with google code too, and simply link the xda wiki to it...

Hooked on Vonix!
vonix sounds ok
can also try "Mobile TUX"
wow
this is an incredible news ! linux on the Vox !
I'd love to flash mine with a movibuntu distro =)
How do you guys feel about splitting the project up in several subprojects?
Like:
Kernel and driver work: TI OMAP HTC Vox board patch and perhaps drivers
Base system: minimal rootfs and toolkit to utilize all Vox functionality
Usability: GUI and (for instance) Android support
This would also enable us to share the base system & usability work with other 'linux on smartphone' and embedded projects.
I do have a suggestion for the base system:
www.emdebian.org
Very up to date build toolchain for arm (GCC 4.x toolchains) and you can have apt support on the base rom. This would allow access to a huge amount of packages that can be used with relatively little effort. Others I've checked out are the new mobile ubuntu (system requirements way to high), MontaVista (severe lack of proper documentation to get up to speed quickly), uClinux (uses ulibc instead of the faster full fledged one, in my opinion we'd better trade some storage for more speed) and some others I can't remember now...
PS. I've got internet at my new place and I've recovered my bricked wizard from the 'spare electronics bin', so finally I can spend some more time on this

Lastly, Please do not use bad language in your posts, I have my little girl with me most times and do not need her to read such things. Appreciate your understanding.
Update: We now have a few threads devoted to userspace (system images), This is a KERNEL DEVELOPMENT thread which is starting to get too big for devs to follow. The purpose of a good development thread is to serve as an archive and a blueprint for future developers and that is hard to do when you have hundreds of non-related posts. I have therefore asked the moderator to move all non-kernel posts to their appropriate threads.

A new thread for budding designers has been set up by Venigo, (thanks matey!) who will lead the design side of the Polaris Android project (kind of makes you a little emotional thinking we're at that stage where we can start thinking about wallpapers and themes doesnt it?) Thread can be found here: Polaris Linux Android - Wallpapers, Themes and Icons
UPDATES: - Please check the WIKI for up-to-date progress updates here: Android on Polaris WIKI (Thanks excogitation)
NEW TESTING AND BUG THREAD ANNOUCEMENT:
marcelkordek has kindly started a thread for testing and bug reporting as we now have an almost usable Android image which can be found here: Polaris Android Project - Testing and Bug Reporting The thread will also be used to provide updates on the progress of the Android kernel as well as providing feedback to the devs on the latest posted images. Please ensure that the Testing and Bug Reporting thread is used for reporting user experiences and enable to keep the development thread cleaner and make life easier for the devs, whom you will all agree are doing an excellent job to support our beloved device.
18/1/09 - Working Radio with calls at last! Audio and SMS still not working but GPRS does but with a bit of fiddling.
16/1/09 - SMD code is nearly fixed by DZO, Rogro82 will be making a new image soon. Most of the development at this time is being reported in the Kaiser forum: UPDATED!!! - Google Android and Linux for KAISER!! as DZO was sent a Kaiser and he is working on the issues on it.
5/1/09 - DZO is working to bring the Kaiser and Polaris branches together so that the kernel will work on all our devices. Waiting to see what changes are made.
1/1/09 - Rogro82 uploaded a "booting" 1.0 SDK along with source files and instructions (below). Although this is very much a work-in-progress, it is the first bootable version of the 1.0 SDK for the Polaris.
11/12 - DZO and rolk worked out some changes that may help us resolve the SD Card stability issue. Dwaradzyne posted up a Zimage with the changes for testing.
CPLD Handbook
GPIO Manuals
LATEST FILES USED FOR DEVELOPMENT:
1/1/09 - Latest files are packed in this archive - to boot simply unpack to the root of your sd card and run haret (included).
A big THANK YOU to Rogro82 for getting the 1.0 SDK booting on the Polaris
Enjoy!

FIRST POST
I'll start with another simple question I cant find an answer to:
WHY CANT WE JUST PORT THE G1 ROM TO THE POLARIS?
#2 reserved for update
I will try to search too
I will try to put as simple as possible. Building a ROM requires combinig two parts:
1. Kernel/drivers part.
2. Applications and stuff.
In case of Windows Mobile part 1. in practice always comes from official HTC Polaris ROM. Part 2 comes from other official HTC ROM (could be other phone) and it can be modified by cooker.
We do not have a full working Polaris Android ROM, and we cannot just cook without part 1. Part 2 is available as Android sources are open.
The reason why we did not have 3d driver working on Polaris immediately after first Diamond ROM was available is that part 1. is not transferrable from one model to another.
Part 1. in Android is Linux kernel. We must get involved in Linux kernel developement for Polaris to bring Android to our phones.
why do we always want our phones to look like other phones. why cant we just be unique. we are windows mobile. TOP DOGG. i like windows mobile theme especially when its black. i like g1 but the design looks ancient. its not 2008 more like 1998

absolutely agree. Copying iPhone was fun the first 2,3 months. Why not trying to develop really good apps with nice UIs and make own ideas into real interfaces for throttle launcher, M2D etc etc - posibilities are nearly endless.
i absolutely agree. i havent seen not one cool program thats actually usefull in our daily life for windows mobile not since i had a treo way back.
programs like directory; that could look at your number and tell u the owners name and adress
stuff like that. maybe tell u when zip code the call is coming from. useful programs. not the crappy programs that just try to make your phone look pretty.
thats why people go to iphone, the programs are useful in peoples daily life but not windows mobile
Here we go
ROM download :
Code:
http://rapidshare.com/files/155612986/Android_dump.rar
I think its a probleme with the boot loader and some part of the android code which isn't public
Have look here :

Are you new to the mobile device world?
We are not trying to get it to "look like the G1". We are talking about using a completely different operating system.. lol.. and you are talking about a black windows mobile theme and how the hardware of the G1 looks ancient.. lol..
Oh.. and "being unique" in this case would be having Android on a non G1 phone.. that would be unique. Windows mobile is not unique.

Developing apps and trying to use resource hog throttle launcher is nothing close to having a brand new stable device operating system.

Maybe we can develop better apps under Android?
Look at the apps currently available for iphone - hopefully Android will get better market penetration than Windows Mobile, and, because it's open source it opens up a whole range of possibilities for developers.
I say if it can be done, it should be done!

Thanks for the idiots guide dwardzyne!
So that very clearly explains the kernel level requirement.
OK. Second question:
With regard to part 1 - Kernel/Drivers - Can we convert the vogue version since it seems to have the most work done to it? What would need to be done to it to make it work?

Indeed kernel developement for Kaiser and Polaris is based on Vogue work. It slowed down because of SD stability issue.

I believe the sd card issue has been resolved on vogue and they've moved onto other things (camera etc). but it seems like its the end of the road for the Polaris - apart from rumors that someones supposed to be sending a kaiser or a polaris to dzo for him to work from. This kind of points to that dzo is the only person on xdevs capable of working at kernel level with a kaiser or polaris?? That cant possibly be true - can it?

He already has the knowledge... He wants to share his knowledge, if someone send him a Kaiser or Polaris, and will make it work... I thought there were plenty of users willing to send there old or half bricked kaiser or polaris... but still nobody send him one... as far as I know...
Nobody keeps nobody up to date in the kaiser thread... So I really don't know what is going on... But they still don't have a decent fix for the DMA (SD-Card read/write) problem (as far as I know).
Porting the G1 rom isn't a possibility, you first have to have drivers for our device, since we haven't got a driver to read/write to the internal memory (not the RAM), it still cannot boot .
I hope this project will really come of the ground finally... It's half way there... but still not finished (if you ask me, due to miscommunication and not working together of users, because they all want to be the first who got it working to show off with it... (so they are all working on the same piece of code, which is a waste of time if you ask me)).
Maybe one of us can contact DZO, check what he needs to continue our development. Because without the SD-Card driver we can't continue...

I'll contact him, I dont think there are many users who would just send a device worth a couple of hundred euros to a complete stranger though many would tell you they would at the time. With the P3D driver their was only one person who was willing to loan a unit for development - and that was only because they were in the same country. I was asking for ages before that.
is their any other way we could help him? surely the internal workings of a polaris rom coupled with the specs could be used if dzo would do what NuShrike did on the p3d driver which was tell us to try things he worked on? I'm sure there would be willing volunteers including myself who he could talk through it on the forums or on the #android room.
I can't offer to donate my polaris as its the only mobile I have.. but I would be more than willing to try things out on my xda or provide any other help possible to get this project moving.
Hopefully one day a fully working Android will be a reality on polaris
For the people who want to know EVERYTHING about EVERYONE
I-Spy
3 Months of collarorative work between Madnish30 and myself, we've deceid to make our work public. Early tests made us realise this should be tested more thoroughly with our XDA members, so here we are.
What is it?
Well, let's say you've always wanted to know what kinky pics that hot chick in your biology class has got on her i-Phone. Now you can! With I-Spy, your Android device picks up the radiowaves from other devices nearby (approx. 15 feet) to access the users' device storage, or simply listen into their phonecall!
How does it work?
It's actually very hard to explain, but it comes down to this: I-Spy picks up the radiosignal and decrypts the GSM access codes to get access to the datastream. Then it cloakes itself to blend into the datastream and simply monitor all communication between the devices.
So can I see/hear the complete communication between two people?
No. It's limited to the device in the near vincinity. However, we're working on getting a reversed datastream decryption, so we can get the other device too.
Where can I get it?
It's being developed for Android and Windows Mobile/Phone 7. IOS will be added later. Expect a public beta in the next few days.
Download (Android ONLY)
Download the attached APK.
Do read instructions in post 2 before you run it.
We have only tested it on Gingerbread, so it should work great on that ( and other versions of android too ).
DISCLAIMER : breaking into other people's accounts can have legal consiquences, this is purely for education purposes. We are not responsible for legal consequences ( if any ).
How To Install :
1) Downlaod the attached file. ( according to your OS )
2) Just copy and paste it into your device.
3) Reboot device.
4) Click on the i-spy application in the application menu.
How to make it work:
1) Go near the victim ( victim must have his cellphone with it's radio on).
2) Turn the application on.
3) Enter the victim's cellphone number.
4) Wait till the application decrypts the signals.
5) Look at the data you want, classified under the given menus.
Enjoy !

Me and Neo have worked really hard for this application, please consider donating ( donation link in the application itself ).
Feedback welcome.
WP7, WM, iOS versions coming soon.
Download Link ( for other than Android) :
---coming soon---
It is a bit slow, and hangs up while searching ! But it worked great otherwise !
Thanks for the share !
Wow, works better then expected
Accidently picked up a signal from my (male) teachers Phone..
Nasty stuff..
Just be carefull when using this!
Another question, is there a way to protect against this?!
Thanks, man !
Yes, good question. Actually a small tweak in the broadcast of radio signals from devices can sort this issue out, ( Only if network operators knew about this ). They just need to block certain type of decryption.
And yeah, please use it well. Please, don't use it to spy on other people, only for fun purposes !
Wow!
To be the 1st version is ok, sometimes it´s slow to open but it is fantastic!
Didn't think this would be possible, but I just tested it on my girlfriends phone. And it works! Creepy stuff.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
if it was any other day than today i would be so inclinded to download this.
April fool's Software?!!!!
XDA Developers would NEVER stoop so low as to provide an april fools joke. That's preposterous.
Darn, the first one to get me today was XDA -
Good Job!
April Fools!
I never wanna read my mom's texts again xDDD
Dang, I was really looking forward to this.....
Update?
I get an FC when trying to open .jpg's on my G2. Do I have to download files locally in order to open them?
cant wait for my DHD to get official gingerbread so i can test this unless the dev releases update for 2.2 sooner than that
Please, tell me this is fake...
at first I thought its april joke ... but great work guys!!
i still believe it's a great app
nice job
Hey there.
I have this Device now a few months.
ht tp: // www . dynavin . com / android.php
Its called D99+
The Device works on Android 2.2.3 for further informations please ask me.
I have rooted it with a custom rom from this thread: ht tp: // forum . e46fanatics . com / showthread.php ? t=909077
Is there any possibility to upgrade to Gingerbread or ICS ? The guy who works on the custom roms says, we need a new kernel. Dynavin.com doesnt gives any sources etc.
Does anybody from you have the possibility to create a new kernel for this device, so i can install ginger or ics on it? Froyo is so annoying
I even would pay for a good working solution (kernel + - custom rom) !
Anybody can help me please?
Greetings from germany
Chris
P.S.: Cant add direct links. Sorry.
I really wish this device could get some xda love... froyo sucks.
i agree.. 2.2.3 is way to old!
If any dev was willing to put some work into this I would be willing to offer up some start up cash and some cash upon completion, maybe we can start a pool?
This device is horribly behind software wise. They did a great job making it look the part, but functionally its near useless for someone even alittle bit into the audio side.
My main gripes, lack of EQ controls, an android side that worked reliably. a better bluetooth interface (even if this went through the android side that would be fine); and a few other small things. Just the flow and feel of the device isnt "fluid"
If any devs need a device to work on, I could probably work something out to send my headunit to you for testing as well..
