My understanding is that if you have the stock ROM it will allow you to download the update. If you are rooted you can download it, but not install it because you will need the stock recovery in order to do so.
Personally, I think I can deal with being non-rooted for a little bit in order to try out the new stuff. I already nandroid'd back to the stock ROM, but still rooted ... going to put the stock recovery and such back on and see if anything shows up over the weekend
To a device with a custom recovery i believe

It should work with stock image and recovery.
I just put my stock image of 2.1 and stoc recovery and straight away got the OTA for 2.1 update1, so I believe 2.2 OTA will come too
Try this post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614850
^^ yep, did that. It started the update1 OTA immediately .... so far so good. Now it's down to the waiting game.
Is this only for nexus one?

simple question. I9020A rooted running ICS rom. Do I accept OTA update?

Hi there,
Since my phone is a I9020A on Fido I rooted and currently running CM9 ICS rom, should I accept any OTA update or do I have to manually install it through CWM?
No, it can screw up your device if you do it like that. Just do it manually like everyone is doing.

Only difference between odex and deodex is that deodex is for theming. Odex boots faster.... And if the radio you're using right bow is working properly you don't need to flash another radio

Ok so I flashed 2.3.6 back stock for OTA rom from the thread in this section and now for some odd reason I cant access my CWM. Whenever I try to it shows some box and triangle thing flashing
tried to reflash CWM using Rom Manager and kept getting an error.
Doh!
To the handful of people getting OTA update on i9020a, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get either:
a) name of ZIP file
b) URL of ZIP file
c) copy ZIP file and upload (should be in /cache folder I think)
(preferably all three)
Once you install it the file is deleted and you lost your chance, so please if you downloaded update don't apply until you get at least one of the above...but preferably all three, you would be a hero to all of us in this thread with i9020a wanting update. This is AT&T/Rogers model.

The OP states he is running CM9 Kangs... He isn't getting the update since he is not on stock -- I think he is just asking how to actually take the OTA when it comes.
I am on Fido too in Canada and I can assure you, I have not received the OTA for my I9020A yet... Once it is available for my I9020A, I will post all the information here (if the I9020A official OTA is not already posted, that is...)
if i flash back to stock with root will i still receive OTA on ns4g?? even if with a different kernal?

I think the kernel has to be stock as well.
I just downloaded OTARootKeeper app and have reverted completely back to stock; I am patiently waiting for the i9020A OTA.
Hopefully we get it soon.
I don't mind a little wait though... by then all the other bugs and such with SuperUser app will be figured out for ICS.

I downloaded Voodoo OTARootKeeper from the android market. The description of the program claims it should hide your root during the ota and according to the apps latest reviews, it works on this ics upgrade. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it works and hopefully the super user app from the market will be updated by then to handle ics.

Also, Superuser has been officially updated for ICS, so you don't really need to use OTARootKeeper. The new SU works just like before.

[Q] OTA Update for Stock JB Rom

Hi
I downloaded and installed the Nordics JB Rom (N8000XXBLK2_N8000OXXBLJ2_NEE) without any issues. I can now also search for Samsung Updates again but it only tells me that I already run the latest version (my CSC is AUT / Switzerland). I was now wondering if I could get the corresponding OTA Update that some of you got after installing the JB Rom. I think I saw in another thread that it was another 400MB or so. Is there a way to download this and flash in Mobile Odin since this tool has an OTA update file option? I am confused because these files don't seem to show up on sammobile under OTA Updates (is their list incomplete?).
Thanks for any feedback!
Sam
Till now if have not seen any OTA after the JB update, but if it says there are no more updates then your device is registering and hence you should get OTA updates as and when they are out

Yes thats what I also assumed. As I already got the JB stock firmware and flashed it with ODIN (without waiting for it to be released officially for Switzerland) I was hoping that I could do the same also with the OTA update as I assume it will also be the same for all countries (as it is already with the base firmware).
How is the "OTA updates" section on sammobile to be understood if they don't show all updates? Is it broken? Or does it now show all of them by design?
The people received the ota have mistaken flashed ics because the thread creator posted wrong ics link instead of the jellybean one and he corrected the links after that

Sense 6 - UK push to customer

Hello all,
A lurker's first post here.
As the thread title states, HTC has supposedly started pushing Sense 6 to the HTC One Mini in UK (assuming it is also pushing to other countries too). Has anyone have this installed? How does it compare to Sense 6 port ROMs such as InsertCoin?
Currently a Insertcoin user myself, I may backup my ROM and test out HTC's official Sense 6 and provide some user feedback.
Cheers!

Is this the update file that is downloaded prior to install? If so I can help with that, though I may be doing this tomorrow as have some plans today.
Do I flash the stock KK ROM then get the update file? Could possibly do this while watching the Italy/CR game.
Being a IC user, I'll gladly help in any way as thanks to all your work!
Edit - Actually, is it even possible to still receive HTC updates even if i flashed stock again?

Yes once its downloaded, dont reboot but find where the OTA.zip is and upload it and share here on XDA so us devs can use it... and you'd most likely have to flash a stock odex KK rom.... but once the download is finished dont install just share and within a few days i can release a fully working sense 6 IC rom updated with the latest tweaks.... if you can somehow get it today ill be very greatful and will push for a quick release just for you helping me.

I didnt know I had downloaded Triggers 4.4.2 stock rooted ROM for the new partition layout, how do I edit the CID again? I should really keep a note of all the edits I do, currently on supercid.
Once I change the CID I can attempt for the OTA file.
EDIT: NVM I found out about changing cid, this is the file I got from the software update:
OTA_M4_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_HTC_Europe_3.10.401.6-3.10.401.4_release_356961.zip
Doesnt seem to be sense 6...
Let me update and see what happens.
edit 2: tried installing the update file but gave an error on the recovery/installing screen then it rebooted saying system is modified so please revert..
Is this due to being s off? rooted? Any suggestions?
Just checked for updates on my generic UK One Mini, no update to Sense 6, still on 5.5
I'm guessing that since miniwhooper posted saying she is releasing a stock rom tonight that she has a copy of an update file?

Note: All the future builds will be incremental and can only be flashed from specific pie build to another. For example Beta 2 will be flashable from Beta 1. Users wont have to plash back to Oreo and than flash next pie builds like when leaked builds were available.
This is how updates are going to be:
ARJ2--> Beta 1 (ZRK9) --> Beta 2 --> Beta 3 --> Beta 4 .........................................
Please let me know if anyone runs into any issue while flashing the firmwares. I have already tested the files with few other folks and everything works fine, there is no issue while flashing them.
You are the best, I'm on this build, downloading right now. Thanks:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

I just installed it, mine is sprint unlocked and converted to U1. Then flash the ota provided here. Now everything works perfectly. This is sort of ready for daily use. With this I just update via recovery. No need for downgrade or conversion. Plus no lost of data
Hi guys, can I use this update on the SM-9650 device?

Just you can't. We need to wait leak or official beta release for our 96x0 variants.

This one here is for U model: https://mega.nz/#!kyYlTYLa!9wRMYpOgiwLof1njmehrKcCqR_vfxj_6FIY2y3bZ12s
This one is also official build pulled from phone and not one of those leaked build. This can be flashed on BRJ5 oreo firmware and needs no wipe
I have a question. If I flash this, will I be able to download over the air when a new update comes out or do I have to download and flash it manually? Thank you.

Probably the former, since you need to register in Samsung+ app to get updates as they get pushed out by Samsung.
Hopefully this thread will be updated once every new firmware pushes, since my Samsung + app(beta) never allowed me to register, it just won't even if i press register button for thousand times.

Please let me know if anyone runs into any issue while flashing the firmwares. I have already tested the files with few other folks and everything works fine, there is no issue while flashing them.
