[Q] Embryo 6.1 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

How could I change it so I could have the boot animation of Embryo 5.4?
I tried swapping the samsungboot.qmg and loop.qmg but it didn't work.
The Ink effect doesn't accurate tell me which color I've selected.
If I select purple it says black. It's off by 1 option.
Also found the comfortaa font and sony font from the 5.4 embryo and brought it over to 6.0 since I can't find a suitable version anywhere else.
So if anyone wants that too.
I'm still tinkering the thing, so I may have more question if I can't solve it myself.

There's already 2 threads dedicated to embryo 6.1. Stop making new threads.

he is so right!
However in the community of sharing, here is a great tool that will allow you to use any boot animation your heart desires.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678540
Think I'm going to get flamed for this so the following is mandatory:
ErrrrMyyGuD!! Do a Google search "site:forum.xda-developers.com "what ever you are looking for" "!! .. and err I'm so angry!!
hehe that was funny stuff right there!! Hope nobody takes that ANY other way...

Location is given in rom customizer.

You could have link me and then request close/deletion of this thread, instead of being rude about it.
I took a short look at that thread,It did not specifically fill all my needs.
I already google'd a bunch of these things, and for a good length of time.
Location is not given in rom customization.
It is only the shutdown sequence, or to disable.
aside
I found some more info on the boot animation.
the file being used wasn't the bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsung.qmg under "/system/media/" instead it was the bootanimation.zip file in /data/local/
Replacing bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsung.qmg in /system/media/ with the one from Embryo 5.4 works after you remove the bootanimation.zip.

[Boot Animation] Android BSOD v2.1 (2010-05-12)

This is just something I threw together for fun, after reading one too many posts of people complaining of boot loops and other problems when flashing different ROMs and kernels. It starts with the normal Nexus One bootup sequence, then halts at a BSOD message.

To install the animation, rename the file to bootanimation.zip and adb push to /data/local
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
Check out Random Boot Animations if you want to use multiple boot animations.
Update Notes:
v2.1 - Fixed typo in blue screen
v2 - Increased resolution of X animation, revised BSOD to an Android-related message, including a reminder on how to access the Bootloader.
v1 - Initial release.
Haha love it! I will have to show my co-workers this one.
Haha, nice work! I think this is a great idea. I'll try it when i get home!
Lol nice! How do you apply it and how can i backup my current one?
Thanks
how do I flash this? I tried through recovery but I got a verification failed.
sweet works great with random boot animation script
No one wants to answer because we have to search or they dont know themselves. im sure its a half/half. Little do they know they knew nothing at one point...
It's in system/media and named BootAnimation.zip. Use a file manager to copy it/rename it and then move the new animation in. You can push it from a laptop as well, but I never bothered remembering the commands for adb. A quick search really would have answered your questions. :]
you can push it to /data/local/bootanimation.zip
if you don't want it anymore, delete it and your original is untouched
Just ran it then, looks cool. But why is the X so low res?

If you push the file to /data/local as in the instructions, your original bootanimation (which resides in /system/media) will not be overwritten. However, if you have another boot animation already at /data/local, you can make a copy of that before overwriting it with this one.

This was just a quick hack thrown together for laughs. The problem is that the final screen needs to be at 480x800 in order to have a blue background. That means the rest of the images will also need to be at that ratio. The original X animation was done at 512x256, and if I rescaled it to 480x800 the animation lags a bit on my phone. So what I did was to downscale it to 240x400, which is why it appears low-res.
If people are actually interested in this I can experiment a bit to see what is a good compromise between speed and resolution.
OP is updated with V2 of the animation! If you liked the first one, you should definitely get this.

Generate one with the info you want and I'll alter the name of the phone for you. Just put the zip here I'll download it and get it back to you tomorrow night.
As far as an actual generator, I don't have a web site to host it on. I am currently leaning to Java script and visual C++. So I don't have the capabilities to make one but I can alter it for you. So all you have to do is paste it in your data>local folder.
Here they are, I went ahead and made one of each if you want to do both in case someone else wants the original loading screen. If you don't, I want the XP one.
I am working on them should be done within the next day.
update: currently looking for the a font package. Harder to find then you think.
any progress?
I still haven't found a matching font. If any one can find a matching font, and put it in a zip for me. I can have it done and ready to flash in about an hour.
I'll try and find it, looks like a basic sans, did you try Google Sans font that was made?
Update: Here we go, looks a little rougher but my guess is because it's a much larger size on my monitor.

Thank you I will work on it late today .

Search the forum for "bootanimation" first before asking please, but...
Backup your stuff!!!
It a good idea to first rename your original to bootanimationold.zip or similar then you can just leave it where it is.
You'll need to have a file explorer like es, or root explorer. Copy the .zip file to the root of your sd, then go into said explorer with root permissions, move the file "bootanimation.zip" to system/media/ then set permissions to rw-r-r, and reboot.

[REQUEST] Stock/Original Samsung Boot animation .zip

The name says it all!
Does any have the bootanimation.zip of the any Stock firmware given by Samsung?
If yes, then please post it here, it really want it. (Just For Nostalgia )
Thanks!!
I thought I had one on my sd-card.. Apparently not...
There's a big BUT though:
Samsung made their bootanimation into a bootani.qmg, not the regular bootanimation.zip, so unless you are on a Froyo rom that is build from Samsungs stock firmware, I'm not even sure it will play... Stupid enough there doesn't seem to be such thing as an archiver of some sort that can extract that type of archive... Samsuck
Edit: I found the bootani.qmg posted by Dharam here
Ok, thanks. I knew about that but I thought that it was a problem in the my rom.
Seems that would a dream.

that is the first bootanimation (the animation comes out right after the bootscreen) the second one (glowing logo) is inside of "framework-res.apk"....hope you know what I meant... @ak700: just download a froyo theme and you'll find it somewhere in the .apk (not located in "res", just somwhere in the .apk )
Thanks Jason. Will try it.
EDIT:
Decompiled framework-res.apk from Kyrillos 9. Found the glowing Samsung logo animation in assets/images. Guess what, there was even the stock android logo boot animation too!

I dont think we are gonna have any luck on this front, closest we are gonna get is a qmg player i think, suppose you could frame by frame it and recreate the animation from there but apart from that im stumped
QMG is Proprietary to QuramSoft
Unfortunately, these qmg files are compressed and can only be decompressed by proprietary libraries which is present in Samsung android phones gingerbread and up. You may find more info about the technology by searching for quramsoft in google.
The "codecs/decoder" libraries are below:
/system/lib/libQmageDecoder.so
/system/lib/libquramimagecodec.so
Unless someone knows how to use theses in an application to decode the bootani.qmg file, that will be great.
Here it is

Help Modding Framework-res.apk

Hi Guys,
I am trying to mod framework-res.apk from the Sky-ICS Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763195) in order to get Bluetooth Tethering enabled.
All I have to do is mod the lines in array.xml from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25808002&postcount=114)
I pull framework-res.apk
I decompile the apk using Apk_Manager_ICS
I make my mods to res\values\arrays.xml
recompile
then I grab the resources.arsc from the new APK and add it into the original APK file using 7-zip in STORE mode
push it back to the skyrocket
adb shell in and reset permissions (chmod) to 644
reboot
Never ending Loop
Can someone please point me in the right direction
I've done / used every method to try and get framework-res.apk recompiled and working but no dice!!

HELP!!!
I think I have tried EVERY APKtool out there (I even built an XP machine to try them in), and i'm still not having luck. I dont know if its something that I'm doing wrong, but i'm all out of options.
I suspect that it may be something with the ROM because even after I restore the backed up, stock framework-res, it still bootloops.
Anyway, if someone can do me a huge favor, take the attached framework-res.apk and add the xml to the /res/values folder and send it back to me, that way I can test to see if its a problem with my system or the ROM
Thanks in Advanced!!

[Q] Bootanimation From Blast-off Kernel

Hello All!
I was trying to flash bhundven's Blastoff Kernel. For some reason it caused system wide force closes.
I'm really not that worried about it, I was just playing around, but what I'm mainly interested in is the bootanimation that the kernel put on my phone.
It actually had two. The first was this sweet team acid logo, followed by the rom installed unicorn (I'm on Valhalla Final).
Does anybody know....
A. How could I obtain that team acid bootanimation?, and
B. How could I place the obtained bootanimation in front of my current one so I could have both?
I currently am using a cool green bios bootanimation I found in the forums.
Thanks All!
Matt

That was the image I was looking for. However what I'm trying to do is put the team acid part of the bootanimation(part 0) in front of my bootanimation I'm currently using.
Is that possible? I'm sure it is just a matter of editing the text file that comes in the boot animation zip, I just don't know how to do it.....

thanks coop your the man! I read a thread on boot and shutdown animations but I just couldn't get it...and I have too much going to to take the time out right how.
I attached my current bootanimation. In the interest of clarity, I would like the team acid logo portion of the boot animation gfx myst attached above (part 0) in front of my boot animation I just attached. Mine has two parts also, I like part 0 from mine too. That's why I couldn't figure it out. I was trying to take part 0 from myst animation, rename it to part 1 and copy it to mine. Didn't work. Once again, thanks!
Matt
I think you should know that if your boot animation is longer then the time it takes to boot to android it WILL cut the animation short. Be aware even if he gets it working it might not show the animation properly. There has been requests to slow boot times so the animation shows and well the devs and most people have laughed. I think there is a tool out there that will allow you to create a live wallpaper from bootanimations but I have no idea where to look. I vaguely remember people talking about it.
Thanks for the info man. I try to soak up as much as possible.
I'm pretty sure it will work. I'm currently using a 2 part bootanimantion, I'm just trying to delete one part from each and then merge the remainder.
We'll see.
Either way, good input and thanks!
In my experience, it has finished the boot animation for me... anyways I will work on at and should have it working by Sunday... I have school and stuff so yeah.
