Hello,
I have been looking to purchase a Citizen Proximity watch (Bluetooth Compatable Watch), and the watch is only compatable with iPhone 4s-5 (due to the app's support). Is there any way to translate this app to be able to run on my Infuse, or get the watch to sync with my phone without the application?

Hi,
I want to set up a whole house media center, I have a xbmc server running in my house and a windows 7 pc which I can stream from also.
I have seen applications for andriod like 2player and skifta which allow me to stream music from these devices and it offers the ability to stream to other devices.
Can anyone advise me how I could set up a second android phone as a receiver. Since android phones are now so cheap I think it would be quite nice to have multiple android devices to act as receivers around my home.
I would aim to start a application like 2player on my own personal phone, choose my pc or xbmc server as source and then choose the music to play on one of the android phone.
Can anyone advise how to set this up as I don't know how to get the android phones to listen for streams.or even any alternative suggestions?
thanks in advance,
Dec
Hi guys,
Just to update this post last night I spent a bit of time researching this.
I found another app called "bubble upnp" which works as a dlna dmr.
I can see it all starting to come together now. I was able to stream from my xbmc server to another android phone running bubble upnp and using 2player on my own phone as the control point.
I am happy with this but I'm not sure if these are the best app's for this?
Also I think there maybe a small issue with power usage. I don't want to leave WiFi running on the end devices all the time. And or the dlna dmr app if possible.
I think sms gps can remotely turn on WiFi aswell as gps so this maybe a simple work around.
But not sure how to launch an app remotely on android phone.

We have moved to Android and IOS devices now namely DroidX and iPad leaving behind our HTC Touch and Diamond.
We don't want to junk or even sell our previous devices since they have sentimental values. I was thinking to put them to use at lease. Is there any software I can install to turn those two device into a security cam?
They are both wifi capable, WM5 and WM6 operating system. I have used them as a BT webcam before, now I am looking a way that I can use them as a Wifi webcam that can stream video over the internet to my own server/hosting or may use Ustream or any other streaming service alike with a host PC.
If can record a video to the server will be much better so I can review it later. It will be perfect if there is a motion detection that could save me space and time in reviewing the videos.
Can this be done?
It's been a while since I post here, I will really appreciate if someone could help me with this.
Yes you can
Just download IP Webcam from the Google Play Market. It does exactly what you want. It runs an HTTP server so you can connect to it in a variety of ways, as listed on the main page in the browser, once you connect.
Good Play is for Android!!! He has a WM6
Curious if its possible to remap the video call option to automatically use tango, skype, or some other video calling service? I have NO CLUE what the native video call option is????? is it proprietary like iPhone Facetime? or carrier based? or what?
Since I'm on T-mobile in the USA - I'd like to remap that to use a compatible option . THANKS
Tango
Have you downloaded Tango for your Optimus yet? I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Please give better details.

I understand what he's trying to do. ie when he goes into his contacts and hits video call, instead of making a normal video call, he wants it to connect via skype instead.
in theory this would be possible, but then the reciever would also need skype...

That's exactly right... from contacts hitting the video call button the phone using an outside method of video chat... What is the default method anyways? is it some proprietary protocol like Apple's FaceTime? or is it carrier based or what?
Another great question would be, is there anything that would interface from the optimus to a facetime device? is there facetime for android? All my friends and family have iPhone's, and NO ONE has Optimus 3D or android's at all - hence the reason for wanting to use another video call client.
Hi Araltd,
My experience is only for Tango.
Currently you can Tango another Tango users from within your contact list.
Tango supports PC, Android 2.1 or higher, Windows Phones, iPhones (3GS and newer), iPod touch fourth-generation and iPads. That means you can Video Chat with other platforms.
You should give Tango a try. You’ll enjoy it!
Android Devices
- Download Tango from the Android Market here: http://bit.ly/lERnBS (choose to open in 'Market' when prompted)
Apple Devices
- Download Tango from the Apple App Store here: http://bit.ly/lpK8XN (iPhone, iPod, iPad)
I am in the same boat as you; all my friends are iOS users. I just can’t get away from Androids freedom!
can we use hd7's primary camera as webcam through any app??
What do you mean by "as webcam"? If it means - "like any cheap USB webcam to work with desktop Skype app" - the answer is "no" (however, with appropriate drivers and phone software it's may be possible - check this topic for details).
If you mean "like an IP-cam", to be able to watch video/picture stream from WP7 - yes, it's very possible with current API but I don't know any app on the markeplace. And I'm not sure about app necessity.
You'd have to install an app on the phone that streams the feed from the camera over the network, and an app+driver on the PC that received the network stream, and fed it into a virtual camera device.
Theoretically possible (although the quality would probably be awful) but not easy. Webcams are all of what, $15 these days?
IP-cams with 3G/4G/Wi-Fi capabilities definitelly are not worth $15 Android, 4 example, has a nice app called IP Webcam so I converted my old, cheap and unused Android phone to the nice IP cam (but no, my wife doesn't cheat me, of course! LOL)
Why not use TANGO app?
PocketCam will let you use your WP7 as a webcam to your computer, and you can use it with MSN, Skype, etc.
Hi there folks.
I'm trying to set up some multimedia entertainment for the kids while we travel.
I ended up with final option to get 2 android tablets and each kid can entertain itself, also when we wanna watch something together i need to cast / stream from phone to those 2 tablets.
I found some apps for this, but there are 2 issues.
1. Can't cast to 2 devices simultaneously.
2. Apps do not cast audio. Must be streaming may be?
Also there is a bit delay between main device and receiving one, no matter if cast on wifi or hotspot, so because of the delay, i can't put main audio on car speakers because it does not match the video on receiving devices. If i manage to cast with audio, they can use headphones, which for sure will have, to not distract me while driving when i do not wanna listen all the "entertainment".
So if you have any other suggestions please share with me! Thanks!
